FiresafeTM Oxygen Therapy Kit
Intended Use
This oxygen therapy kit is intended for the delivery of low ow oxygen therapy via nasal cannulae to adults. This kit includes two thermal fuses that enable some specic re safety requirements of EN ISO 8359:2009+AMD1 and EN ISO 80601-2-69:2014 to be met. Warnings!
1. Keep this oxygen therapy kit free from oil and/or grease. Do not lubricate the hose barb connectors.
2. Never administer oxygen therapy while smoking or near an open ame.
3. Firesafe Cannula Valves must be oriented correctly in the patient circuit as shown overleaf. Failure to t them in the correct orientation will render them ine󰀨ective in the event of a re.
4. Additional risk control measures (e.g. SpO2 monitoring with an alarm) are essential for patients who might su󰀨er injury or death in the event that their oxygen ow is stopped unexpectedly.
5. This kit is intended for single patient use and should not be used with other patients due to the risk of cross-contamination.
6. Keep the tubing straight and free of kinks. Do not set anything on the tubing that may obstruct the ow.
7. Keep excess tubing loosely coiled and out of the way to prevent tripping over it.
8. Do not sterilise this administration kit or any of the components.
9. Do not immerse this administration kit in any uid or allow uid to enter through the ends.
Cleaning
Clean the outside of the kit, including the nasal prongs, with a clean damp cloth. Do not use strong detergents, alcohol or scented lotions or soaps.
Replacement and Disposal
It is recommended to replace your nasal cannula at least every 14 days and not to use it for more than 30 days. The Firesafe Cannula Valves should be disposed of 4 years after the date of manufacture engraved
on the device. The administration kit should be replaced if the oxygen tubes become damaged, discoloured or sti󰀨.

Kit Contents
This kit contains the following components:
1 x nasal cannula - Salter Labs part number 1600-1 2 x Firesafe™ Cannula Valves - BPR Medical Ltd. part number 827-0001 1 x oxygen tube, Salter Labs part number 2015-15 (for the 5 m kit) or 2002-7 (for the 2 m kit) 1 x oxygen tube, 0.3 metres long - Salter Labs part number 2001-1

Using the FiresafeTM Oxygen Therapy Kit
First, rmly connect the free end of the oxygen therapy kit to the oxygen supply source, then:
Option 1
1. Insert the two nasal prongs into the nostrils with the prongs curved towards the face.
2. Wrap the headset loop up and over both ears.
3. Squeeze the sides of the bolo and glide the bolo up under the chin, leaving enough space to t at least two ngers between the bolo and chin.
Option 2
1. Place the headset loop over the head, resting the tubes on top of the ears.
2. Loosely pull the bolo along the tubes towards the back of the head.
3. Insert the nasal prongs into the nostrils and adjust for comfort.
4. Adjust the bolo so that the tubes are secure but comfortable.
