Key Installation Benefits
• 24dB crossovers allow for the
best possible tweeter response in
a range of positions, while enabling
bi-amp and bi-wire configurations
Reference Standard
Boston Z defines absolute top-level mobile audio performance. Outstanding bass
extension and the smoothest, most accurate octave-to-octave tonal balance ever give this
system bragging rights unlike any other. Factor in an innovative design that’s as stunning
to look at as it is simple to install, and you’ve got sound and style that will awe even the
most experienced audiophile.
TwinStage™heat sink
ffectively pulling heat away from the voice coil, two separate aluminum heat sinks,
E
working together as one, improve power handling and reliability. The first heat sink is
located inside the voice coil; the second surrounds the main woofer magnet assembly.
Long-strand carbon fiber cone
Provides a high strength-to-weight ratio, for high resolution and quick transient
response without sacrificing efficiency.
Cast aluminum woofer basket
For improved strength, heat dissipation, and air flow.
Type-M1 tweeter
The Type-M1’s 1-inch hard anodized alloy dome is extremely lightweight
and ultra strong—delivering high output levels without the harsh break up
associated with traditional designs.
Full AMD™(Amplitude Modification Device)
This patented tuning device uses precisely sized hollow tubes positioned
in front of the tweeter to refocus short wavelength energy and create
an extremely smooth, ruler-flat response. How flat you ask? 2kHz to 30kHz
±1dB without added equalization.
• A unique axis-mount design
enables the tweeter and woofer
to be installed as one piece
or separately
™
• VariMount
adapter rings allow for
fast, easy installation in virtually
any factory cutout size, including
5 x 7-inch
System-specific crossover
Housed in an aluminum case that pulls heat away from the components for increased
power handling; the crossover features low DF/ESR polypropylene capacitors,
G-10 circuit boards, 24dB octave slopes, and unique equalization settings that deliver
optimized system performance in both infinite baffle enclosures and reduced
volume enclosures.
VariMount
™
Boston Z comes with several mounting adapters, making it possible to drop
the speakers into the most common factory locations.
Z6 fits into 160mm, 165mm, and 5 x 7-inch locations (1⁄2 -inch spacer included).
Z5 fits 130mm DIN—found in many high-end imports.
