1. FEATURES
The VE-5 Vocal Performer is a compact and mobile personal effects processor and looper for vocalists. Featuring a simple-to-use tabletop design that can be easily attached to a mic stand for performing, the VE-5 is perfect for singers, rappers, beatboxers, webcasters, karaoke and anyone that wants to have fun with processing vocal sounds. Also of use to woodwind and brass instrumentalists, the VE-5 is good for anyone wanting to have a little more control over their personal sound.
Easy one-touch operation. Reverb, Delay, Double/Harmony, Dynamics, Pitch Correct, and
Tone/SFX.
Phrase Looper adds impact to real-time vocal performances,
including harmonizing and layered beatboxing.
Loop “Check” function, allows for easy auditioning of presets
and parameters in real time.
Favorite Sound function provides immediate access to
preferred sounds.
Ideal for live performance, as well as tabletop use; mic-stand
mount included.
Convenient built-in microphone. Aux input for blending external music. Battery operation for anywhere, anytime performance (AC
adapter sold separately).
Mic input accepts either XLR or ¼” microphone input.
2. QUICK DEMO
The Quick Demo is a way to get the customer interested in a product in less than 60 seconds.
Before You Start
1. Connect a microphone to one end of an XLR cable and the other end to the [MIC IN] input (right side) of the VE-5.
2. You can also choose to use the internal mic. This mic is on by default if there is no connection present at the [MIC IN] input.
3. Connect a set of headphones to the [PHONES/LINEOUT] input (1/8” jack) on the left side of the VE-5.
4. Using the [VOLUME] dial (bottom left side of VE-5) turn the volume level down to 0 to start.

THE QUICK DEMO: USING THE VE-5
This demo has 3 steps. If possible, show all 3 steps.
STEP ONE: Show a Reverb Effect
1. Turn the
black sound knob to preset [01 BRIGHT ECHO].
Sing, speak or rap into the mic to hear the reverb effect.
2. Turn the
black [SOUND] knob (located in the middle of the
VE-5) to run through the different reverb/echo presets below.

3. While in a preset, you can push the toggle on/off the reverb effects.
STEP TWO: Show a Harmony Effect

3. GOING DEEP
How to Use the LOOPER
1. When you are ready to record, press the [LOOP] button. The button will immediately light up red, indicating that you are “recording.” Record a snippet of audio.
2. When the loop is finished press the [LOOP] button again and the button will light up green indicating that you are now in “play back mode.”
3. To overdub press the [LOOP] button again and the button will light up yellow, indicating that you are now in “overdub” mode. Record/overdub your next part. When the part is complete, press the [LOOP] button and the VE-5 will go back into “play back mode.”
4. To momentarily stop the LOOPER push the [EXIT/STOP] button once. To activate your loop again push [LOOP].
5. To quit using the LOOPER, push the [EXIT] button twice.
How to Use the LOOPER Check Function
This is a handy function allowing easy auditioning of the presets and adjusting of parameters in real time, using a loop of audio as a virtual “mic check”.
1. Push the MENU > MIC.
2. Turn the the screen now says: MENU > PHRASE LOOP.
[MENU] button once. The screen will now say:

3. Push the [right arrow] > button once and the screen will now say: PHRASE LOOP < LOOPTYPE Perform.
4. Turn the the screen will now say: PHRASE LOOP < LoopType Check
5. Push the [EXIT] button.
6. Record a loop of audio (see above “How to use the LOOPER”).
7. You can now use the LOOPER playback to audition/adjust the presets and parameters.
8. To change out of Check mode and back to Perform mode: repeat steps 1-5 and switch the LOOPTYPE parameter back to
Perform.
How to Use the FAVORITE SOUND Function
FAVORITE SOUND is quick way for you to save your favorite three presets.
1. Find your preset.
2. Push and hold the A, B or C button for two seconds, and your preset is immediately stored to the button for instant access.
