The des ign philo sophy of this a mplifie r requir es strict a dherence to pr oper install ation and load im pedanc e instruc tions. T he minimu m recommende d impedance is 1 O hms.
The fus e rating fo r the CH1500D SE is 40 ampe res (2 x 20A f uses) and t he CH3000DSE c arries a fuse ra ting of 105 a mperes (3 x 35A f uses). Al though s ufficie nt for normal wo rking condit ions, overl oading of t he amplifie r may cause t hese fus es to blow. P lease try to avo id overloadi ng the amp i n this mann er.
Take ex treme ca ution whe n mounti ng the ampl ifier, so as not t o damage the cha ssis with a dr ill or scr ewdrive r.
Run a 4 gau ge wire (a s short as po ssible ) to the clos est chassis gr ound point. Be sure t o remove t he paint at t he conne ction to th e chassis of the v ehicle for a goo d elect rical co nnectio n.
Using R CA interc onnect cabl es, conne ct all lin e inputs an d outputs per th e wiring diagr ams which f ollow if possi ble, keep the R CA cords aw ay from th e 12V power a nd Groun d wiring.
Mount t he amplif ier so that air f low is not re strict ed.
Mount t he amplif ier to a solid su rface, as t hese amp lifiers a re extremely h eavy.
Place t he fuse hol der near the am plifier o n the 12V PO SITIVE le ad.
Run a 16 ga uge (or la rger) wir e to the rem ote turn- on lead of the hea d unit.
Conne ct the spea ker(s) as per t he wiring d iagram s in this man ual.
Set the c ontrols a s described i n the follo wing sec tions of th is manual.
Run a 4 gau ge wire fro m the battery , using a fus e within 1 8 (457mm) o f the positive batte ry termin al. The purpo se of this fu se is to pro tect the ba ttery in the eve nt that this wi re accid entally c ontact s the chass is ground on its r un to the amplif ier.
,,
While t hese ampl ifiers are de signed to o perate w ith a minim um load of 1 Ohm, it i s highly recom mended t hat you des ign your s ystem to op erate with 2 Ohm s minimum impe dance. Opera ting a CHAO S digital amp wi th a speaker im pedance l oad of und er 1 Ohm may resul t in poor so und quali ty and ser ious dama ge to the amplif ier circuitr y. Damage to you r ampli fier caus ed by operati ng with a loa d of less th an 1 Ohm is not c overed under t he warra nty for thi s product.
