Life Expectancy of Constituent Parts
This section describes the life expectancy of constituent parts (backlight, power supply, internal cooling fan and touch screen) which make up to BPF-3219.
TFT Display Backlight
Display brightness decreases over time with use. The expected operating lifetime of the backlight time to reach 50% initial brightness) is 30,000 hours (assuming continuous lit state at 25 degrees C). Actual lifetime before replacement is about 30,000 hours, although this depends on operating conditions.
Touch Screen
The operating lifetime of the touch screen is approximately 1 million operations (as tested by mechanical manipulation under 100g of force at a rate of two presses per second)

General Description
The BPF-3219 is the newest Industrial Fanless Panel PC, Panel PC features anti-vibration design and is the most cost-effective alternation for users. This precise streamline platform can be applied to Kiosk, DSA, transaction terminal, POS, home security system, ATM system and voting machine parking field and more.
it has a built-in VIA V4 Eden 1GHz CPU is response to demands of cost-effective panel system. All of BPF series Panel PC Support resistive/SAW touch screens, highly expandable, it is an ideal for space-limited environments, and furthermore it supports an optional rotational WLAN antenna for wireless network connection.
Anti-vibration
With an unique anti-vibration design, All of BPF series Panel PC has been approved for vibration tests at VIA V4 Eden 1GHz CPU in operation mode with Hard Disk

With streamlined mechanical layout, the BPF series panel PC has an ultra slim design for space-limited environment. It is not only lower maintenance time but also space saving considerably.
Cost-effective Fanless Embedded System
The BPF series Panel PC, the most slim, compact size, fanless embedded computer, is powered by an ultra-low powerful processor, VIA V4 Eden 1GHz CPU onboard, The total power consumption of the system is under 62W merely. It generates the best value for both power usage and cost saving. Without hard disk space and extra add-on cards, All of BPF series panel PC present an ultra slim design and provide a cost-effective alternation for users. I/O port feature contains VGA, COM, dual LAN, USB 2.0, and PS/2 connectors. Moreover, it reserved a CompactFlash socket for storage device.

Unpacking
2.1 Opening the Delivery Package
The BPF-3219 is packed with an anti-static bag. The board contains sensitive electrical components that are easily damaged by static (electricity). Do not remove the anti-static wrapping until proper grounding have been taken. Safety instruction has been described the anti-static precautions and procedures in the previous.
2.2 Inspection
After unpacking the Panel PC, places it on a raised surface and carefully inspect the board for any damage that might have occurred during shipment. Grounding the board and exercise extremely careful to prevent any damages to the board from static.
Integrated circuits will sometimes come out from socket during shipment. Examine all integrated circuits, particularly the BIOS, processor, memory modules, ROM-Disk, and keyboard controller chip to ensure that they are firmly seated. The BPF-3219 delivery package contains the following items:
BPF-3219 x 1, w/Power Cable x 1Utility CD-Disk x 1, including User’s Manual
It is recommended that user keeps all the parts of the delivery package intactness and store them in a safe/dry place for any reasons that require for returning the product. In case you find any missing and/or damaged items from the list, please contacts your dealer or sale representatives immediately.

Chapter 3
Hardware Installation
This chapter illustrates how to install components into the Panel PC system. External interface please refers to system board’s manual.
3.1 Open the Cover
1. Remove screws from the back cover accordingly.

3.2 HDD/CD-ROM Installation
1. Unscrew the 4 screws with blue vibration pad first (figrue3.2.1), then remove the holding bracket from chassis (figure3.2.2).

2. Attach and screw the holding bracket w/HDD (figure3.2.3), then install HDD back to chassis (figure3.2.4)

3. Remove the CD-ROM drive holding bracket from chassis first (figure3.2.5).

4. Attach and screw the holding bracket in the side of the CD-ROM, then screw the other side of the drive bay back to chassis (figure
3.2.6 & 3.2.7).

3.3 SBC Installation
NOTE: Please check system board user manual for connector installation.
1. Install the SBC with chassis.
2. Use 2 screws install SBC in the front panel next to VGA port.

Chapter 4
Touch Screen Driver Installation
This chapter illustrates the detailed information for touch screen driver installation procedures. The utility disk that came with the delivery package contains an auto-run program that invokes the installation programs for the touch screen driver. The following sections describe the installation procedures of driver based on WIN2000 operating systems. Other operation system may slightly different.
4.1 Touch Screen Driver Installation
4.1.1 Installing Touch Screen Driver
1. Insert the utility CD dist to your CD-ROM drive. The main menu
will pop up as shown below
2. The screen displays copying “Setup Wizard” and “PenMount
Utilities Installation” screen plus “welcome” message appear, click on N
ext>.

3. The next screen is “Choose Install Location”, select “Browse” to
choose where to install and click on “Install” to begin installation.
4. Once the Install Shield Wizard finishes updating your system,
click on F
inish to exit the wizard. We recommend you to
reboot your computer to enable the functions.

4.1.2 Touch Screen Calibrate
To adjust the display with touch screen, right click on “PM” in the system tray of WINXP and choose “Control Panel” to execute calibrate.
Choose PenMount 6000USB device and click on “Configure” that will display next screen to start calibrate.

alibration” button and follow the five calibrate
points to do the calibration.
