The ET70WP Weatherproof Speaker Strobes provide high audio output with clear audibility, and are designed to meet the critical needs of the life safety industry for effective emergency voice communications, tone signaling, and visible signaling. The strobe is rated for 75 cd light intensity on axis at
-31°F (-35°C). A speaker mounting plate with a built‑in level adjustment allows for a faster and easier installation. The two‑screw grill cover creates an attractive appearance. The high‑efficiency speaker is designed for maximum output at a minimum wattage across a frequency range of 400 Hz to 4 kHz. The speaker has seven power taps from 0.125 W to 8 W. When used with the SM (single) or DSM (dual) Synchronization Modules, the strobe produces a synchronized flash for compliance with ADA guidelines concerning photosensitive epilepsy. All strobe input is compatible with standard reverse polarity type supervision of circuit wiring by a fire alarm control panel (FACP).

1
For synchronization, use the SM or DSM module with these control panels. Set the synchronization module for 24 V operation. When used, set the D7022 for 24 VDC operation.
2
When used with a D7039 Multiplex Expansion Module, the D7024 and FPD-7024 become addressable fire alarm control panels (FACPs).
Mounting
The low profile design of these notification appliances creates more wiring space in standard electrical back boxes. The speaker mounting plate incorporates a built‑in level adjustment feature allowing for a faster and easier installation. These speaker strobes wall mount on the indicated back boxes for the indicated applications:

Applications
Surface Mounted
Flush Mounted
IOB Back Box
Outdoor or Severe Environment Applications For an outdoor or a severe environment (NEMA 3R) application, mount the speaker strobe with an IOB Indoor or Outdoor Back Box on a flat wall or ceiling so the entire rear surface of the back box is covered. The drain holes in the back box must point toward the ground. The knockouts on the rear surface of the back box must remain intact. The knockout hole on top of the back box is sized for a half‑inch conduit and matching connector. Use a watertight conduit fitting.
Wiring
The input terminals accept wires with diameters between 18 AWG and 12 AWG (ISO 0.75 mm2 and 4 mm2).
