Assembly
Assembly of your SWII system is described below. Please note that to insure optical alignment, Borg equipment uses
fine, precision-machined threads. When assembling pieces, please do so carefully and patiently to avoid damaging
the screw threads and avoid touching optical surfaces. This will insure that your equipment performs at its best.
The SWII set comes standard with the 2” adapters already installed on the main tube assembly. If you wish to use the
SWII with 2” accessories, you may skip steps 1-3 below which describe how to install the eyepiece turret. To use 11/4” accessories without the turret, you may use the optional Borg 1-1/4” adapter accessory [7317].
Remove the 2” adapters [7508 and 7509], and the M57-to-M36.4
adapter [7522] from the main tube [6000].

Borg SWII Assembly Instructions
Thread the helical focuser M –to-turret adapter [7836] into the helical
focuser [7835].
Attach the turret eyepiece holder [1401] to the adapter installed in step
2. Loosen the three screws on the turret eyepiece holder fully to allow
it to be easily attached.
Attach the tube holder [5503] at the center of the tube. Tighten the
screws carefully at the same time. Tightening only one screw at a
time may damage the inside of the tube holder, or the tube holder
may not grip the tube properly. If the thumbscrews appear to be
slipping you may use a phillips head screwdriver to assist you, but use
care not to overtighten the screws.
Attach the objective lens assembly at the front of the tube. Since the
76 and 76ED hoods retract, the lens cell threads may be hidden. In
this case pull the hood forward until the threads are visible. Use care
in threading the lens cell onto the tube. Improper threading will
cause damage to the threads as well as impaired optical
performance.
Spread and extend each leg of the tripod [3305], tightening each knob
when extended. The optional accessory bag DX [3308] may be
added to enhance stability by adding weight to the mount or to serve
as a place to set accessories while observing.
Install the single-arm fork mount onto the tripod as shown in the
picture.
