SHORT THROW SHIFTER

TOOLS REQUIRED

M7, M8, M10, M12 sockets
M10, M12, M15 box
M3 allen wrench
Flat screw driver
Phillips screw driver
Snap ring pliers

When lifting the car
always use stands to

secure the car.

Spread the locking spriig apart and
disconnect the main shift cable.

Small punch
Hammer

Remove the heat shield.

Remove the nuts holding the shifter
assembly from the bottom.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

White lithium grease

Remove the shifter cover plate.

Remove the shift knob.

Pry off the side shift cable.

Remove the hand brake booth by pulling it
upward.

Remove the front bolt securing the center
console.

Remove the rear bolts securing the center
console. Move the center console to the
back.

Remove the shifter cover by pulling it
back.

Remove the side panel screws and the
shifter base screws.

Remove plastic vacuum hose from rubber

Remove the wire harness brackets and
the neutral lock’s plunger.

Remove the side shift arm’s bolt and the
shifter subassembly blots.

Remove the side shift arm.

Remove the shifter subassembly cover
and the bottom halve of the pivot bushing.

Prepare Boomba Racing Short Throw
Shifter for assembly. Remove the top
snap ring and the return springs. Remove
the orientation shoulder screw. Remove

the reverse lock slide. Grease all ball
joints.

Remove the o-ring.

Insert the shifter arm into the base. Install
the pivot bushing bottom halve and
secure the shifter subassembly cover.
Install the adaptor bushing on the shifter

arm.

Punch out the roll pin.

Install the reverse lock slide. Install the
orientation shoulder screw. Install return
springs and secure them with the snap
ring.

Remove the reverse lock. Remove shift
lever from the base.

Secure the shifter subassembly to the
shifter base.

Install and secure the side shift arm.
Install the plunger lock and the wire
harness brackets.

Install the shifter base and secure it to the
floor.

Assemble the shifter cover. Install the
center console and the hand brake booth.
Install shift knob.

27

Secure shifter to the floor from the bottom.
Reconnect the shifting cables. Install the
bottom shifter cover and the heat shield.
