520i, the Radia 420i loudspeaker is remarkable for both its performance and its value.
This beautifully-styled planar ribbon system features a 40-inch planar line-source driver
with a linear push-pull motor, which drives an ultra-light diaphragm above its passive
crossover point of 350 Hz. Handling the lower frequencies is a pair of high-powered,
long-throw mid-woofers, which cover frequencies down to the specified cutoff of 70 Hz.
The ideal loudspeaker for extended listening, the Radia 420i can be used as either a main
or surround speaker and is capable of filling medium to large-sized rooms.
Like its larger sibling the 520i, the 420i is also extremely adept at power handling,
accurately reproduces dynamic peaks and offers long-term reliability as well. Housed in
a custom, black-anodized aluminum tower with an MDF base, the Radia 420i is finished

in a striking wear-resistant coating, which means it’s a speaker that you’ll be able to enjoy
for years to come.
Spirited. Articulate. Able to reveal low-level subtleties or deliver thundering effects.
The 420i lets every recording shine, whether it’s music or a soundtrack.
Flexible Exclusive line-source Radia planar technology produces a cylindrical sound
field, eliminating any unwanted mid and high-frequency floor and ceiling reflections.
Dynamic Accurately reproduces dynamic peaks at high power for realistic reproduction.
Lifelike Planar ribbon drivers provide amazing clarity, resolution and fidelity.
Critically acclaimed, the Radia 420i is a favorite among audiophiles and reviewers from
around the world.

The loudspeaker consists of an MDF enclosure, which houses the mid-bass
drivers and crossover components. An aluminum tower containing a modified
RD40 planar ribbon driver is attached to complete the speaker system.
Both the enclosure and base have a durable black coating. The planar driver
is finished with a black fabric grille and black anodized tower.
The crossover network divides frequencies between the mid-bass and planar
drivers at 350 Hz. The crossover is equipped for bi-wiring and is shipped with
removable shorting straps across the high and low frequency inputs.
The 420i is easy to drive with any high-quality amplifier or receiver. It also
features ample power handling and can be used in large-sized rooms for
either music or home theater applications. Though the 420i can be used
full-range, a high-quality subwoofer, such as the Radia 210i, is strongly
recommended for optimum low-frequency extension as well as additional
power handling.
