The NEAR® IG8s2 employs advanced technologies and superior

materials to deliver truly high-delity sound to everyone on the

patio or deck, at every volume level, without fatigue. Best of all it can do that over many years, even decades, of full exposure to nasty weather, without yellowing, rusting or fading.

The NEAR IG8s2 looks and sounds great when used as freestanding on-ground speaker, but performs best when partially buried; affording homeowners superior sound performance, lower visibility and greater theft security.

The NEAR IG8s2 radiates sound evenly in a 360-degree pattern for more uniform coverage and better sound quality for every listener. Advanced Technology

The IG8s2 utilizes a Generation 2 MDT metal alloy woofer with dual voice coil UDIO technology along with the Magnetic Liquid Suspension (MLS) technology patented by New England Audio Resource in 1993. Our Titanium alloy tweeter supplies smooth, detailed “air” and life to the music. The result is exceptional sound quality that rivals audiophile-grade indoor speaker systems.

Exceptional Durability

Like other NEAR speakers, the IG8s2 is truly weatherproof, not just “weather-resistant,” and can be used totally exposed to the elements. The enclosure is color-through polymer that sheds moisture, dirt and chemicals. The pigments are embedded uniformly throughout the material so the sun won’t fade the color and garden tools won’t mar their looks.
