Charge it continu ously for ap prox. 3hrs. If your he adset is fu lly charged, the green indicator light will turn o. (For details, plea se refer to t he Charging section i n the manu al or the FAQ on the BLUETR EK website: www.bluet rek.com/sup port/faq ).
Pair the headset w ith your mo bile phone (please re fer to the “Pairi ng the BLUET REK® ST1” section of this manual).
The BLUETREK® ST1 is a wirele ss stereo h eadset base d on the B luetooth® te chnology. It complies with the Blueto oth® 1.2 p rotocol, whic h support s the Heads et, Hands- free, A2DP and AVRCP pro le.
The BLUETREK® ST1 headset ha s 6 buttons, as shown i n Figure 1:

Connect the char ger to the headset as shown in Fig ure 2.

Connect the char ger to the headset and to the mai ns power su pply (or US B port if using USB charger). Du ring the ch arge, the i ndicator li ght of the “PLAY/PAUSE“ b utton will turn green. This li ght will tu rn o when charging is complete. Subsequent charges sho uld take approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.
When you hear a l ow-tone bee p through yo ur headset at regular intervals, and the

Important:
• To maximize batter y lifetime, it is recomm ended that you recharg e your head set to full capacity only when the battery is low, as it h as a lifeti me of about 500 chargi ng cycles.
• If you leave yo ur headset battery e mpty for an extended period of t ime, it cou ld excessively discha rge the bat tery. In th is case, ch arge your he adset for 1 0 hours or more until the batter y recovers and recharg es completel y. Switch the headset o n only when the green indicat or light go es o, indic ating that the batter y has fully recovered.
• Do not let the battery c harger rema in plugged in the hea dset for mor e than 24h.
• The use of any ot her charger will autom atically su spend the warranty.

Pairing the B LUETREK® ST1

Before using the headset, yo u must pair it with yo ur Bluetoot h® mobile p hone. Pairin g is the process of linki ng two Blue tooth® devi ces, so tha t they can communicate.

Switch on your mobile Go into “Settings/connectivity”

1. Place the head set and you r mobile p hone within 0.3 meters (1 foot) o f each othe r.
2. Switch on your phone and select its Bluetooth® discover mo de (refer to the Bluet ooth® mobile phone manual).
3. Ensure the hea dset is sw itched o.
4. Press and hold the “TALK/ON/OFF ” button for about 7 seconds unt il the ind icator light ashes red an d blue alte rnately, and a tone can be heard t hrough the speaker.
5. Once the mobi le phone de tects the headset, a “BLUE TREK ST1” messa ge will be displayed. Follow the pho ne instruc tions to ac cept the pa iring. The PIN code (or p asskey) is 0000, then press “yes” or “ok”.
If the pairing is successfu l, then the “TALK/ON/OFF” button indi cator light will turn into blue and ashes inter mittently.

Using the BLUE TREK® ST1 with your P C
You can connect your BLUETREK® S T1 with you r PC for li stening to music or us ing VoIP communication usi ng a Blueto oth USB st ereo adapter or if your PC is inte grated with Bluetooth®. For fu rther det ails on how to connect the heads et with the PC, please visit:

Using the BLUE TREK® ST1 with your a udio device by connect ing with a Blueto oth® stereo adapter
You can listen to you r music fro m an audio device, suc h as MP3 pl ayer, by connec ting to a Bluetooth® stereo adapter th at support s the A2DP prole (pl ease refer t o the Bluet ooth® stereo adapter us er manual t o nd out w hich prole it suppor ts). If yo ur Bluetoot h® stereo adapter also sup ports AVRCP prole, plea se refer to “Lis tening to M usic from t he BLUETREK® ST1” in thi s manual for the extra functions.

Switching the BLUETREK ST 1® headset ON and OFF
To switch on:
When your headset is o, press and hold the “TALK/ON/OFF” but ton for about 3 seconds until the blue indi cator light is on. A b eep (2 tone s) can be h eard through the speaker then rele ase the bu tton.
To switch o:
When your headset is on, pre ss and hold the “TALK/ON/OF F” button f or about 7 seconds until the red ind icator ligh t is on af ter the qui ck blue as hes. A beep (2 tones) can be hear d in the speaker. Rel ease the “TALK/O N/OFF” button .
Making a cal l
Note: The voice dial ing feature is not avai lable on al l mobile p hones or PDA s. However, you can always dial d irectly usi ng your pho ne keypad. If your mob ile phone does oer t he voice recognition feature , you can ma ke a call directly fr om the head set withou t touching your Bluetooth® mobile phone.
Mobile phones wi th voice dia ling
Make sure that th e voice dia ling funct ions on you r phone are activated and that yo ur voice tags have been rec orded. To program these, pleas e refer to y our phone m anual.
Press the “TALK/ON/OFF” butt on (w hen there i s no incomi ng and no a ctive call ). An audio connection is establi shed.

Wait for the audio signal that is sent by the phone (generally a short t one).

Say the name of t he person whom you wi sh to call, as recorded in the pho ne’s voice tags. The phone will di al the stor ed number.
Mobile phones wi thout voice dialing
Make sure that bo th the hea dset and th e phone are on and in stand-by mo de. Dial th e phone number you wish t o call. Aft er approxima tely 2 secon ds the aud io connect ion is esta blished.
Answering a c all
When the headset rings, pres s once on t he “TALK/ON/OFF” butt on to take the c all.
Ending a cal l
Press the “TALK/ON/OFF” butt on once to end a n active ca ll.
Making/Answe ring a call during mu sic
If there is an i ncoming cal l or if you are making a call wh en the musi c is playin g, the musi c will be stopped u ntil the c all is ende d.

Adjusting the volume
Increasing the vo lume
To increase the volum e during a n active ca ll or when listening to music, pr ess the “VOL+” button on t he headset .

To decrease the volum e during a n active ca ll or when listening to music, pr ess the “VOL-“ button on t he headset .

Muting the m icrophone
To activate the mute function
During an active call, pres s and hold the “VOL+” button until you hear a two-tune beep, you can hear the other par ty but the y cannot he ar you. A pe riodic ton e is heard through the speaker whil e the micro phone is mu ted.
To end the mute func tion
When the micropho ne is muted, press the "VOL+" button once. The peri odic tone w ill be ended.

Transferring a c all from BLU ETREK® ST1 to the mob ile phone

During an active call, pres s the “TALK/ON/OF F” button for about 2 seconds. (This function only works in the Ha nds-free pro le.)
In the Headset p role, you c an simply t urn o your headset.

Listening to Music from the BLUETRE K® ST1

You can listen to you r music fro m the Bluet ooth® devic e through t he BLUETREK® ST1 after pairing them tog ether. However, yo ur Bluetoot h® device m ust suppor t A2DP pro le in order to listen to the music and AVR CP prole to use the re mote funct ions as des cribed bel ow.

Bluetooth con nection lo ss/ recover y
The headset maybe disconnec ted if the link betwee n the phone and your h eadset is lost, for example, if th e phone an d the heads et are more than 10 me ters (33 fee t) apart.
If the headset i s disconnec ted, the he adset will automatica lly try re connecting within approximately 5 mi nutes, and y ou will hea r a period ic beep. The m usic will a utomaticall y start again if the connec tion is re -establish ed within 5 minutes.
If the connectio n is not re -establi shed after 5 minutes, you have to press once on the

“TALK/ON/OFF” button to recon nect the h eadset wit h the phone manually.
Note: This function ma y not be ava ilable on some phones . Some phones will close the music playe r if the li nk is disco nnected. I n this case , you need to restart the music p layer.

Guidelines fo r safe use

Read these guide lines before using your headset.
- Do not expose your headse t to liquid or moistur e.
- Do not expose your headse t to extrem e temperatur es. Temperature ra nge: 0-40C.
- Do not expose your headse t to re or open ames.
- Do not try to disassembl e your head set. Serv ice and mai ntenance ca n only be p erformed by authorized B LUETREK® de alers.
- Keep your heads et away from dust and d irt.
- Do not let chi ldren play w ith your he adset, as i t contains small par ts that cou ld become detached and create a cho king hazar d.
- Check the regul ations in y our area if you plan to use your h eadset whi le driving.
- Turn o your headse t before boa rding an ai rplane.
CAUTION : There is a danger of explosion i f the batte ry is inco rrectly re placed. Disp ose of batteries accordin g to local regulations. Do not di spose of th em as hous ehold waste.

Glossary
- Headset prole, describes how a Blue tooth enabl ed headset should comm unicate wit h a computer or other Bluet ooth enabl ed device s uch as a mo bile phone. When connected and congured, the headset can act a s the remot e device’s audio input and output inter face.
- Hands-free pro le, descri bes how a g ateway devic e can be us ed to place and receive calls for a h and-free de vice. A typ ical congu ration is a n automobil e using a m obile phone for a ga teway device. In the ca r, the stereo is used for the phone audio and a microphone is installed in the car for sendin g outgoing audio of th e conversati on. It is also used for a personal computer t o act as a speakerph one for a mo bile phone in a home or oce e nvironment.
- A2DP prole (Adv anced Audio Distributi on Prole), is designed for transfe rring a 2-channel ste reo audio s tream such as music fr om an MP3 p layer, to a he adset or ca r radio.
- AVRCP prole (Audio /Video Remo te Control Pro le), is d esigned to p rovide a st andard interface to control equi pments to a llow a sing le remote c ontrol (anot her devices ) to control all A/ V devices to which a u ser has acc ess. It is used in con cert with the A2DP prole.
