the charging state can be observed.

Turning Flat Track On

1. Press either of the two Power/Status buttons for one second to turn Flat Track on.
2. Flat Track will attempt to connect to a wireless network.

physically turn it back on when you wish to use it further.
10 // USER GUIDE
Green Status Lights
Flat Track features Green Status Lights with the following functions.
Physical Feature Use
Lights ashing Indicates Flat Track is powered and connecting to the wireless
network, or indicates Flat Track is turning o, if it is in the shutdown sequence.
Lights on Indicates Flat Track is powered and connected to the
wireless network.
Lights o Indicates Flat Track is either powered o or is powered on and
has entered the Green Status Light Stealth Mode.
 Flat Track is referred to as being oine and is not connected to the Blackline Network
when the Green Status Lights are blinking or the device is powered o.
 Flat Track is referred to as being online and connected to the Blackline Network when
the Green Status Lights are on continuously or is in the Green Status Light Stealth Mode.
Green Status Light Stealth Mode
Flat Track features a Green Status Light Stealth Mode that turns o the Green Status Lights two minutes after the last Power/Status button press. This feature ensures Flat Track remains covertly hidden and reduces power consumption.
Waking the Green Status Lights
If Flat Track is in the Green Status Light Stealth Mode, you may wake up the lights by pressing either of the Power/Status buttons.
 The Green Status Lights will wake up and blink if connecting to the wireless network

been depleted and needs to be charged or the removal detector is in alert.
11

Green Battery/Charging Lights

Flat Track features ve Green Battery/Charging Lights. The lights will indicate the battery level by the total number of lights that remain on after one of the Power/Status buttons has been pushed (see below). The lights indicate the charging state when each light slowly ashes from the bottom to the top, and persist with the number of lights on indicating the battery level.
Physical Feature Use

1 Light on Battery between 0 – 10%
2 Lights on Battery between 20 – 40%
3 Lights on Battery between 50 – 70%

 If Flat Track has had a Removal Detector Event the Green Battery/Charging Lights will
be disabled.
Indicates Flat Track is turning o, if it is in the shutdown sequence
12 // USER GUIDE

Removal Detector

Flat Track features a Removal Detector which is enabled remotely from within your Business Portal account. When enabled, the sensor must be in proximity of a surface for 1 minute before an alert will be sent. If Flat Track enters into the Removal Detector Alert Mode, where a surface is no longer detected, the Power/Status buttons will be disabled and the Green Status Lights will not indicate the device status. Additionally, if Flat Track is plugged in, the Green Battery/Charging Lights will not function. This feature ensures Flat Track operation is not further disclosed and avoids additional device tampering.
 When in the Removal Detector Alert Mode, it gives the illusion that Flat Track is powered
o. Be careful not to confuse this feature with the appearance of a depleted battery.
 Acknowledge and Clear the Removal Detector Event in your Portal Account to enable
the Power/Status buttons.
Performance Expectations of the Removal Detector
The removal detector utilizes an infrared sensor system which can be impacted by opacity of a surface and the surface type. Highly reective smooth surfaces will give the best performance, whereas non-reective, rough surfaces may provide false readings. Where possible, always utilize a reective, smooth surface to mount Flat Track and ensure the surface is within a few centimeters of the removal detector.

Installing Flat Track

Installing Flat Track

Flat Track is designed to be covertly hidden in locations unsuitable for other tracking devices.
Installation Tips
Ensure Flat Track has enough support that it will not be bent. Ensure Flat Track is installed at with the Removal Detector near a surface to detect.
13

Alerts

Flat Track is congurable through your Business Portal Account to display alert messages on the portal and to send messages through e-mail and SMS messaging.

Alerts

An alert is a message that communicates a critical event, such as a device removal.
Alerts Explanation
Motion alert Flat Track will send a motion alert when the device de-
tects a motion event, dened as a sudden motion. This alert will only be sent if you have enabled the motion detector in your Business Portal Account.
Removal detection alert Flat Track will send a removal detection alert when the
removal detector is no longer in proximity of a mounting surface.
Low internal battery alert
When the Flat Track battery level falls below 20% capacity, the Blackline Network will send a low internal battery notication.
