The RBRC™ Seal
The RBRC™ Seal on the nickel-cadmium battery pack indicates that this product is voluntarily participating in an industry program to collect and recycle these battery packs at the end of their useful life, when taken out of service within the United States. The RBRC™ program provides a convenient alternative to placing spent nickel-cadmium battery packs into the trash or municipal waste stream which is illegal in some areas. The RBRC™program makes it easy for you to drop off the spent battery pack at local retailers of replacement nickel-cadmium batteries. You may also contact your local recycling center for information on where to return the spent battery pack. RBRC™ is a trademark of the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation..
Battery Removal
Before attempting to disassemble this tool, turn it on and run it in either direction until it stops to ensure a complete discharge of the batteries. Use a flat bladed screwdriver to pry up the locking clip, as shown in Figure 3. Remove the locking clip from the tool. Pull the gear case off of the tool. Take the two body halves apart and you will find the batteries. Lift the batteries out and pull off the terminal clips.

Use only mild soap and damp cloth to clean the tool. Never let any liquid get inside the tool; never immerse any part of the tool into a liquid. IMPORTANT: To assure product SAFETY and RELIABILITY, repairs, maintenance and adjustment should be performed by authorized service centers or other qualified service organizations, always using identical replacement parts.
Lubrication
MASTER MECHANIC tools are properly lubricated at the factory and are ready for use.
AVOID UNINTENTIONAL STARTING. Don’t carry tool with finger on the switch.
Be sure the switch is off when charging.

Charging Notes
NOTE: The tool was sent from the factory in an uncharged condition. Before
attempting to use it, it must be charged for 12 hours.
1. Charger will work best at normal room temperature.
2. The charger plug and the tool handle may become warm while charging. This is normal and does not indicate a problem.
3. The tool can be left on charge as long as you desire. A minimum charge time of 12 hours is required to recharge a completely discharged tool.
4. For most fix up jobs a charge of 3 to 4 hours will be adequate.
MOUNTING
Refer to Figure 1 for wall mounting instructions.
Switch
To turn the tool ON in a forward direction, (driving fasteners or drilling holes), slide the switch button to the right and align it with the arrow pointing forward. DEPRESS the SWITCH button and the tool will run. Release the switch button and the tool will stop. To operate in reverse (removing fasteners or backing out a jammed drill bit) slide the switch button to the left and align it with the arrow pointing backward. DEPRESS the SWITCH button and the tool will run. Release the button and the tool will stop. With the switch button in any of its 3 positions and NOT depressed, the tool will lock and act as any conventional, non-powered screwdriver. This feature is useful for giving an extra twist to screws to tighten them firmly or loosen extra tight ones.
