Intended use

Your Black and Decker sandwich maker has
been designed for making toasted sandwiches
as described in this manual.
Do not use this appliance for any other
purpose.. This product is intended for domestic
indoor use only.

Read this entire manual carefully
before using the appliance.

Using your appliance

appliance.

or power supply cord. Close supervision is

necessary when the appliance is used near

physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or

lack of experience and knowledge, unless

they have been given supervision or

instruction concerning use of the appliance

• Children must be supervised to make sure

that they do not play with the appliance.

After use

• Switch off and remove the plug from the

socket before leaving the appliance

Inspection and repairs

Electrical safety

This product must be earthed. Always
check that the power supply

corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer or an authorised
Black & Decker Service Centre in order to avoid
a hazard. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do
not Immerse the cord, plug or appliance in water
or other liquid.

Extension cables & class 1
product

Before first use

• Remove all packaging from the appliance.

• Clean the appliance before first use.

Use

Warning! Always place the appliance on a flat,

clean and non-slip surface before operating it.

Warning! Do not leave the unit unattended while
in use.

Preheating

• Place the appliance on a suitable surface.

• Connect the plug to a power socket; the red
power indicator (2) will light up. When the unit
reaches the correct cooking temperature the
green temperature indicator (1) will light. This
indicates that the unit is at the correct
temperature and is ready for use.

Toasting

If an extension lead is required a 3 core cable
must be used as your appliance is earthed and
of class 1 construction.

• Up to 30m (100ft) can be used without loss
of power.

• Power plugs must match the outlet. Never
modify the plug in anyway. Do not use any
adapter plugs with earthed (Class 1)
appliances. Unmodified plugs and matching
outlets will reduce the risk of electric shock.

• Preheat the plates as described above.

• Open the appliance and place a slice of
buttered bread onto the lower plate (4), with
the buttered side down.

• Add the required filling and place another
piece of buttered bread on top, with the
buttered side up.

• If required repeat for a second sandwich.

• Close the cooking plates by carefully lowering
the upper plate (5).

• After approximately 4 to 5 minutes, the
sandwiches will be ready. The time may vary
depending on your taste, the type of bread
and the filling.

Warning! The contents of a toasted sandwich
may be very hot.

Cleaning and maintenance

Warning! Before cleaning and maintenance,

switch the appliance off, remove the plug from
the socket and allow the appliance to cool.

Warning! Do not immerse the appliance, the
cord set or the plug in water or any other liquid.

• Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.

• Do not use scouring pads.

• If necessary, use a mild detergent to remove
spots. Do not use any abrasive or solvent
based cleaner.

• Do not use metal implements on the
non-stick surfaces.

Rallonges et appareils de
classe 1

Si une rallonge est nécessaire, un cordon à 3 fils
doit être utilisé car votre appareil est mis à la

terre et de fabrication classe 1.

• Une longueur de 30m (100 pieds) peut être

utilisée sans perte de puissance.

• Les fiches secteur doivent correspondre à la

prise. Ne modifiez jamais la fiche de quelque
façon que ce soit. N’utilisez pas
d’adaptateurs avec des appareils mis à la
terre (Classe 1). L’utilisation de fiches non
modifiées avec des prises correspondantes
réduit le risque de décharge électrique.

Avant la première utilisation

• Retirer tous les emballages de l’appareil.

• Nettoyer l’appareil avant la première

utilisation.

Utilisation

Attention! Toujours placer l’appareil sur un

support plat, propre et non glissant avant de le

faire fonctionner.

Attention! Ne pas laisser l’appareil sans

surveillance pendant son fonctionnement.

Préchauffage

• Placer l’appareil sur un support approprié.

• Brancher la fiche sur une prise de courant; le

témoin d’alimentation rouge (2) s’allumera.
Lorsque l’appareil atteint la bonne

température de cuisson, le témoin vert de

l’indicateur de température (1) s’allumera.
Ceci indique que l’appareil a atteint la bonne
température et est prêt à être utilisé.

Grillage

• Préchauffer les plaques comme indiqué

ci-dessus.

• Ouvrir l’appareil et poser une tranche de pain
beurré sur la plaque inférieure (4), avec le

côté beurré en dessous.

• Ajouter la garniture et poser une autre
tranche de pain beurré dessus, avec le côté

beurré sur le dessus.

• Si nécessaire, répéter l’opération pour un
deuxième sandwich.

• Fermer les plaques de cuisson en abaissant
lentement la plaque supérieure (5).

• Les sandwiches seront prêts après 4 à 5
minutes environ. Ce laps de temps peut
varier en fonction du type de pain, de la
garniture et de vos goûts.

Attention! Le contenu d’un sandwich toasté
peut être très chaud.

Nettoyage et entretien

Attention! Débrancher l’appareil, retirer la fiche

de la prise de courant et laisser l’appareil
refroidir avant son nettoyage ou son entretien.

Attention! Ne pas immerger l’appareil, le cordon
ou la fiche dans de l’eau ou tout autre liquide.

• Essuyer l’extérieur avec un chiffon humide.

• Ne pas utiliser de tampons à récurer.

• En cas de besoin, utiliser un détergent doux
pour enlever les taches. Ne pas utiliser de
nettoyant abrasif ou à base de solvant.

• Ne pas utiliser d’ustensiles en métal sur les
surfaces antiadhésives.
