IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using your Steam Generator, basic safety precautions
should always be followed, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING.
■ Use the Steam Generator only for its intended use. Remove any
labels from the iron body or Soleplate before first use.
■ To protect against a risk of electric shock, do not immerse any
part of the appliance in water or other liquid.
■ This appliance should always be turned Off before plugging into
or unplugging from an outlet. Push the On/Off Button and the
light will go out. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet;
instead grasp plug and pull to disconnect.
■ Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron cool
completely before putting away. Loop cord loosely around the
iron when storing.
■ Always disconnect iron from electrical outlet when filling with
or emptying of water and when not in use. Be careful to avoid
spilling water over Boiler Water Tank when filling.
■ Always use the provided Funnel and Water Pitcher to fill the
Boiler Water Tank.
■ Do not fill the Boiler Water Tank with vinegar or other anti-
limestone agents.
■ Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or
after the appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in
any manner. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not
disassemble the iron. Return the appliance to the nearest
authorized service facility for examination, repair, or electrical
or mechanical adjustment. Incorrect reassembly can cause a
risk of electric shock when the iron is used. Or, call the
appropriate toll-free number listed on the cover of this manual.
■ Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used
near children. Do not leave iron unattended while connected or

on an ironing board. Always position iron carefully on the base
to prevent it from falling if ironing board is accidentally moved
or cord is pulled.
■ Water may leak from the iron’s Soleplate if the Surge of Steam
Button is pressed before the Boiler Water Tank has reached the
optimal temperature (after about 10 minutes) or before the
appliance is hot.
■ Note: Before unscrewing the Safety Fill Cap follow these
operations:
■ Press the Surge of Steam Button to release all the residual
steam. Turn the iron/boiler Off. Unplug from the wall socket;
slowly unscrew the Safety Fill Cap and wait for the hissing
noise to stop before unscrewing it completely.
■ The use of parts/attachments not recommended or sold by the
appliance manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury.
■ Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water, or
steam. Use caution when you turn a steam iron upside down or
use the vertical surge of steam.
■ Do not operate in the presence of explosive and/or flammable
fumes.
■ Do not use iron outdoors.
■ This appliance is intended for household use only, not for
commercial or industrial use. Use for anything other than
intended will void the warranty.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
■ To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another high-
wattage appliance on the same circuit.
■ If an extension cord is necessary, a 10-ampere rated cord with
a polarized plug and UL approval should be used. Cords rated
for less amperage may overheat. Care should be taken to
arrange the cord so that it cannot be pulled on or tripped over.

POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade
is wider than the other). As a safety feature,
this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one
way. If the plug does not fit fully into the
outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt
to defeat this safety feature.
How To Use
Getting Started
NOTE: Before first use, remove any labels,
stickers, or tags which may be attached to the
body or Soleplate of the iron.
1. Fill the Water Pitcher with tap water to
around the 450 ml level. Unscrew the Safety
Fill Cap, place the Funnel into the Boiler
Water Tank, and pour the water in. (A) Fill
the Water Pitcher to about 450 ml AGAIN
and pour that in for a total of approximately
900 ml of water.
2. Remove the Funnel, replace the Safety Fill
Cap, and screw it securely into place.
3. Plug the power cord in and press the
ON/OFF Button. The Temperature Light on
the iron will come on (B) and will cycle on
and off during use.
4. Wait approximately 10 minutes for the
water to start boiling to produce generous
amounts of steam. On certain models only,
the Steam Ready Indicator will come on
showing there is enough steam to begin
ironing.
Selecting Temperature & Steam
1. Use the Fabric Guide on the Temperature
Selector Dial to help select the setting for
the fabric to be ironed (check the garment
label for fabric type and manufacturer’s
recommended setting).
2. To iron with steam, be sure the Temperature
Selector Dial is turned into the Steam Band
anywhere between blend and linen.
3. The Temperature Light will go off as the iron
adjusts to the temperature you selected for
your fabric. When the Temperature Light
comes back on (see B), the temperature
you selected has been reached. The Light
will cycle on and off to maintain the
selected temperature as you iron.
4. Turn the Adjustable Steam Dial (C) to select
the amount of steam you’d like from 0 (no
TAMPER-RESISTANT SCREWS

outer covers. To reduce the risk of fire or
electric shock, do not attempt to remove the
outer covers. There are no user serviceable
parts inside. Repair should be done only by
authorized service personnel.
steam) to 9 (abundant steam). NOTE: To dry
iron with NO STEAM, do not press the
Surge of Steam or Steam Lock Buttons
and/or set the Adjustable Steam Dial to 0.
5. Before ironing with steam, press and hold
the Surge of Steam Button for 5-10 seconds
to give the steam time to travel from the
Boiler Water Tank to the iron. You may
press the Steam Lock Button for continuous
billowing steam. (D) During ironing, you may
place the iron on its heel rest while you
adjust your garments or rest it on its Base.
Finish Ironing /Refilling
1. On certain models only, the Low Water
Indicator will come on as the water level
goes down. However, on all models,
CONTINUE IRONING until you have used up
all the steam before refilling the Boiler
Water Tank.
2. When you finish ironing, be sure to press
the Surge of Steam/Unlock Button to unlock
the continuous steam. Press the ON/OFF
Button to turn the unit OFF, unplug the
power cord, and let the iron cool by placing
it on the Base.
3. To refill, slowly unscrew the Safety Fill Cap
and wait for the hissing of releasing steam to
stop before unscrewing it completely. Use
the Water Pitcher and Funnel to fill the Boiler
Water Tank as described in “Getting
Started.” Be sure to replace and tighten the
Cap before ironing. It is not necessary to
completely fill the Tank for short ironing
sessions. As long as there is some water in
the Tank, you can reduce the preheat
waiting time and save electricity by ironing
with half a Tank.
Vertical Ironing
For best results when steaming vertically,
hang the garment on a clothes hanger —
curtains/drapes can be steamed once they’re
hung. Hold the iron close to but not touching the
fabric. Press the Steam Lock Button for continuous
steam. Pull the fabric tight with your free hand as
you pass the iron over the wrinkled fabric. (E)
Ironing Tips
• Always read garment labels and follow
manufacturer’s ironing instructions.
• Synthetics are heat sensitive and may glaze or
melt at high temperatures. Use lower settings. If
