Always attach plug to the appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to “off”, then remove plug from wall outlet.
Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, cook only in removable container.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
ELECTRICAL CORD
a) A short power-supply cord is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting from
becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
b) Longer extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in
their use.
c) If an extension cord is used,
1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and
2) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord.
TAMPER-RESISTANT SCREW Warning : This appliance is equipped with a tamper-resistant screw to prevent removal of the outer cover. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not attempt to remove the outer cover. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Repair
should be done only by authorized service personnel.
Note: If the power supply cord is damaged, it should be replaced by qualified personnel or in Latin America by an authorized service center.

How to Use
This appliance is for household use only.
1. Before first use, wash all parts as instructed in the Care and Cleaning section.
2. Place unit on a flat, stable surface. Note: As the rice expands and cooks, steam will come out of the vent in the condensation
catcher. Do not place the rice cooker directly underneath your cabinets or too close
to a wall.
3. Open the lid by pressing the lid release button (A).
4. Measure desired amount of rice with the rice measure provided.
Note: The rice measure provided is based on 6 oz. (170 g). Your rice cooker can make up to 10 rice measures of dry rice — yielding approximately 20-24 cups of cooked rice.
Caution: To reduce the risk of electric shock, cook only in the removable cooking bowl provided.
5. Place rice in the cooking bowl and add water. You can also use any liquid, such as broth, stock or fruit juice as part or all of the liquid for cooking the rice.
6. Use the water-level markings inside the cooking bowl as a guide for adding the exact amount of water. For example, for 4 measures of uncooked rice, fill with water to waterlevel marking 4. Be careful not to add too much water as it may cause the unit to boil over.
Note: Taste/hardness will vary depending on the quality/type of rice, amount of liquid and length of time it is cooked. Follow the instructions in the Rice Cooking Guide on pages 5 - 7. For softer, fluffier rice, add a little more water. For firmer, crunchier rice add a little less water. You may need to experiment to suit your taste.
7. Before placing the cooking bowl into the rice cooker, be sure the heating plate and outside surface of the cooking bowl are clean and dry. Do not let loose rice or particles fall into the rice cooker.
8. Insert cooking bowl into rice cooker. You might have to turn it slightly to the left and right to ensure proper contact with the heating plate.
Note: Do not place the rice cooker directly under your cabinets or too close to a wall.
9. Close the lid. Press down until you hear a click.
Note: Always keep the lid closed while cooking.
10. Plug unit into a standard electrical outlet. The Warm light will come on.
11. Press the Cook button to begin cooking (B). As the rice
expands and cooks, steam comes out through the steam vent on the condensation catcher.
Caution: Do not put your hand over the steam vent as you may get burned by the hot steam.
12. Once the rice is cooked, the rice cooker automatically switches to the Warm cycle.
Important: The unit will stay in the Warm cycle until
it is unplugged. Do not try to prevent the rice cooker from switching to the Warm mode. Do not immediately press the Cook button again after it has begun the Warm cycle.
13. After the unit switches to Warm, leave the lid closed for at least 15 minutes to further cook the rice.
14. Open the lid by pressing the lid release button. Fluff the rice with the serving scoop before serving.
15. Unplug the unit when finished.
Important: Allow unit to cool completely before cooking another batch of rice, or to use the steamer basket after rice has been cooked.

EMPTYING CONDENSATION CATCHER
1. Remove and empty the condensation catcher after each use.
2. To clean the condensation catcher, remove it by inserting your hand into the opening from underneath it. Grip the condensation catcher and pull up (C).
3-HEATER SYSTEM
The improved 3-Heater System warms from the top, sides, and bottom so that rice may be held for up to 18 hours while remaining moist and fluffy throughout.
STEAMING BASKET
1. The steamer basket holds up to 8 cups of cut-up vegetables or other foods.
2. Fill the cooking bowl with about 1-1/2 cups (12 fl. oz./350 ml) of water using a standard measuring cup.
3. Place vegetables or other food in the steamer basket, and position the basket on top of the cooking bowl.
4. Close the lid. Press down until you hear a click.
Note: Always keep the lid closed while cooking.
5. Plug unit into a standard electrical outlet. The Warm light will come on.
6. Press the Cook button to begin cooking.
7. Steaming times vary according to vegetable or food type. Begin checking for doneness after initial 5 minutes. You may need to experiment to suit your taste.
8. Unplug the unit when finished.
Note: When steaming vegetables or other foods without rice in the cooking bowl, the unit will not switch to the Warm mode.
Important Tips:
• During cooking, a thin crust may develop on the rice at the bottom of the bowl. If you do not like rice with crust, you can easily peel it off from the nonstick cooking bowl and discard it.
• Use the plastic serving scoop (or a wooden spoon) to stir and remove rice—do not use metal utensils that can scratch the nonstick cooking bowl.
If desired, add seasonings and oil or butter with rice before adding water. Allow rice to rest on warm at least 15 minutes before serving.

Care and Cleaning
This product contains no user serviceable parts. Refer service to qualified service personnel.
1. Always unplug the unit before cleaning.
2. Never immerse the unit in water or other liquid.
3. Wash the lid, condensation catcher, steaming basket, serving scoop, and rice measure in warm, soapy water or place in the top rack of the dishwasher.
Note: The cooking bowl has an aluminum outer surface, therefore, it is best to wash it by hand. If washed in the dishwasher, the outer aluminum surface may become cloudy, but will not affect cooking.
4. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads—they may scratch the nonstick surface and could result in poor contact with the heating plate.
5. Clean the unit by wiping the inside and outside surfaces with a damp soapy cloth and dry thoroughly.
6. If water accidentally gets into the button area or onto the heating plate, allow to dry thoroughly before using the rice cooker.
