Intended use

Your Black & Decker appliance is intended for
heating rooms.
Do not use this appliance for any other purpose.
This product is intended for indoor household
use only.

Read this entire manual carefully
before using the appliance.

Safety instructions

Warning! When using mains-powered

appliances, basic safety precautions, including
the following, should always be followed to

reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and

personal injury.

• The intended use is described in this manual.

The use of any accessory or attachment or
the performance of any operation with this
appliance other than those recommended in
this instruction manual may present a risk of
personal injury.

• Retain this manual for future reference.

Using your appliance

• Always take care when using the appliance.

• Never pull the power supply cord to

disconnect the plug from the socket. Keep
the power supply cord away from heat, oil
and sharp edges.

• Do not place the appliance on or near heat
sources or in a heated oven.

• Do not use the appliance outdoors.

• Always protect the motor unit from water or
excessive humidity.

• If the power supply cord is damaged during

use, disconnect the appliance from the power
supply immediately. Do not touch the power
supply cord before disconnecting from the
power supply.

• Disconnect the appliance from the power
supply when not in use, before fitting or
removing parts and before cleaning.

• Never let the appliance operate unattended.

• Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a

table, counter, or touch hot surfaces.

• Fully uncoil then guide the power supply cord

neatly so it cannot be caught accidentally or

tripped over.

• The heater must not be located immediately

below a socket-outlet.

• To prevent overload and blown fuses, do not

plug other appliance into same outlet
(receptacle)

• Do not place the heater on carpets, don’t
place the cable under carpets. Arrange cord
away from traffic areas so that it will not be
tripped over.

• NEVER use this heater where it may come

into contact with water i.e. bathroom, shower
room, kitchen. Do not use this heater in the
immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower
or a swimming pool.

Warning! In order to avoid overheating, do not
cover the heater. NEVER use the heater to dry

clothes or similar articles.

• Don’t touch the hot surfaces.

• Do not position the appliances in close
proximately to curtains or other combustible
materials. Keep combustible material such
as furniture, cushions, bedding, paper,
clothes, curtains etc. at least 1.0m away
from the heater.

• Always ensure that hands are dry before
operating or adjusting any switch on the
product or touching the plug and mains
supply connections.

• Do not use the appliances with a
programmer, timer or any other devices that
switches the appliances on automatically.

• To prevent a possible fire, do not block air
intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not
use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where
openings may become blocked.

• Do not store away until the heater cools
down, store the heater in cool dry location
when not in use.

• Don’ t use extension cable

• Always operate on a flat horizontal surface.

• Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter
any ventilation or exhaust opening, as this
may cause an electric shock, fire or damage
to the appliance.

• Do not operate in areas where gasoline,
paint or other flammable liquids are used or
stored.

• The most common cause of overheating is
deposits of dust or fluff in the appliance.
Ensure these deposits are removed regularly
by unplugging the appliance and vacuum
cleaning air vents and grilles.

• Always use the heater in an upright position.
Do not use the appliance in rooms less than
4m2 area.

• To disconnect the appliance, switch it “OFF”,
then remove the plug from outlet. Do not pull
out the cord because this could damage it.

Warning! This heater is not equipped with a
device to control the room temperature. Do not
use this heater in small rooms when they are
occupied by persons not capable of leaving the
room on their own, unless constant supervision
is provided.

Safety of others

• This appliance can be used by children aged
from 8 years and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of
the appliance in a safe way and understand
the hazards involved. Children shall not play
with the appliance. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be made by children
without supervision.

• Children of less than 3 years should be kept
away unless continuously supervised.

• Children aged from 3 years and less than 8
years shall only switch on/off the appliancea
provided that it has been placed or installed
in its intended normal operating position and
they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance in
a safe way and understand the hazards
involved. Children aged from 3 years and
less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate
and clean the appliance or perform user
maintenance.

CAUTION: Some parts of this product can
become very hot and cause burns. Particular
attention has to be given where children and
vulnerable people are present.

• Children should be supervised to ensure that

they do not play with the appliance.

After use

• Remove the plug from the socket before

leaving the appliance unattended and before
changing, cleaning or inspecting any parts of
the appliance.

• When not in use, the appliance should be
stored in a dry place. Children should not

have access to stored appliances.

Inspection and repairs

• Switch off the appliance before cleaning,

changing accessories or approaching parts
which move in use

• Before use, check the appliance for
damaged or defective parts. Check for
breakage of parts, damage to switches and

any other conditions that may affect its
operation.

• Do not use the appliance if any part is

damaged or defective.

• Have any damaged or defective parts

repaired or replaced by an authorised repair
agent.

• If the power supply cord or mains plug is

damaged or defective it must be repaired by
an authorised repair agent in order to avoid a

hazard. Do not cut the power supply cord

and do not attempt to repair it yourself.

• Never attempt to remove or replace any
parts other than those specified in this

manual.

Electrical safety

Before use, check the mains voltage

corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.

This appliance is double insulated
therefore no earth wire is required.

• To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not

immerse the cord, plug or motor unit in water
or other liquid.

• Check that the supply voltage shown on the

rating plate of the appliance matches that of
your electrical system. Any connection error
will invalidate the guarantee.

Warning! In order to avoid

overheating, do not cover the heater.

Mains plug replacement

If a new mains plug needs to be fitted:

• Safely dispose of the old plug

• Connect the brown lead to the live terminal

of the new plug

• Before use, check the power supply cord for

signs of damage, ageing and wear.

• Do not use the appliance if the power supply

cord or mains plug is damaged or defective.

• Connect the blue lead to the neutral terminal

• If the product is class I (earthed), connect the

green/yellow lead to the earth terminal

Warning! If your product is class II double
insulated (only 2 wires in the cord set), no
connection is to be made to the earth terminal

• Follow the fitting instructions supplied with
good quality plugs

• Any replacement fuse must be of the same
rating as the original fuse supplied with the

product

Mode setting

The fan heater incorporates a rotate on switch

you can select the different air by turning the

switch clockwise to:

Warm air

Thermostat

When heating mode is selected

• Turn the thermostat knob in a clockwise

direction to the max position.

• Once the room temperature has reached the

desired temperature, turn the thermostat
knob slowly in an anti-clockwise direction
until a "click" sound is heard. That is the

setting temperature. Now, the thermostat is
switched off and the indicator light goes off.

• The thermostat will automatically maintain

the set temperature. It will switch on when
the room temperature is below and switch off

if above the setting.

Use

Your appliance is fitted with a thermostat for
your safety. Using the appliance continuously for
very long periods may cause the appliance to
overheat and stop working. It is therefore

recommended that you disconnect the
appliance from the mains supply and allow to

fully cool before continuing use.

1. Place the appliance on a flat, stable surface.

2. Connect it to the electricity supply.

3. Select the operating mode.

4. Set the thermostat to the required setting.

Maintenance & cleaning

• Switch the appliance off, remove the plug

from the power socket.

• The appliance is easier to clean if you do so

immediately after use.

• Do not use abrasive cleaning agents,

scourers, acetone, alcohol etc. to clean the
appliance.

• Clean the motor unit with a damp cloth.

Never immerse the motor unit in water nor rinse

it under the tap.

Utilisation prévue

Votre appareil Black & Decker est destiné à
chauffer les pièces.

Ne pas utiliser cet appareil à d’autres fins. Cet

appareil est uniquement destiné à un usage
domestique à l’intérieur.

Lisez ce manuel attentivement avant
d’utiliser l’appareil.

Consignes de sécurité

Avertissement! Lorsqu’on utilise un appareil

électrique, il faut toujours respecter certaines
règles de sécurité fondamentales, notamment

les suivantes, afin de prévenir les risques

d’incendie, de décharges électriques ou de
blessures corporelles.

Utilisation de votre appareil

• Prenez toutes les précautions nécessaires

pendant l’utilisation de l’appareil.

• Ne tirez jamais sur le cordon d’alimentation
pour débrancher la fiche de la prise. Gardez

le cordon d’alimentation éloigné de toute
source de chaleur, de zones graisseuses et
de bords tranchants.

• Ne placez pas l’appareil sur ou près de

sources de chaleur ou dans un four chaud.

• N’utilisez pas l’appareil à l’extérieur.

• Protégez toujours le bloc moteur de l’eau ou
d’une humidité excessive.

• Ne pas poser le radiateur sur un tapis, ne pas

placer le cordon sous un tapis. Eloigner le
cordon des zones de passage pour éviter
qu’il fasse trébucher quelqu’un.

• NE JAMAIS utiliser ce radiateur dans un

endroit où il pourrait être en contact avec de
l’eau, comme une salle de bains, une salle
d’eau ou une cuisine. Ne pas utiliser ce
radiateur près d’une baignoire, d’une douche
ou d’une piscine.

Avertissement! Afin d’éviter une surchauffe, ne
pas couvrir le radiateur. NE JAMAIS faire sécher
du linge ou autres articles textile sur le radiateur.

• Ne pas toucher les surfaces chaudes.

• Ne pas placer le radiateur près de rideaux ou
d’un matériau combustible. Tenir les
matériaux combustibles tels que meubles,
coussins, literie, papiers, vêtements, rideaux,
etc., à au moins 1 mètre du radiateur.

• Veillez à avoir les mains sèches avant de
faire fonctionner ou d’ajuster le bouton de
réglage sur l’appareil, ou de toucher la prise
et les branchements électriques.

• Ne pas utiliser l’appareil avec un
programmateur, une minuterie ou tout autre
dispositif pouvant actionner le radiateur
automatiquement.

• Pour éviter un incendie, ne pas obstruer les
entrées et sorties d’air de quelque façon que
ce soit. Ne pas utiliser sur une surface molle,
comme un lit, où les ouvertures pourraient
s’obstruer.

• Ne pas ranger le radiateur avant qu’il ne soit
refroidi, ranger le radiateur dans un endroit
frais et sec lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé.

• Ne pas utiliser un cordon de rallonge

• Ne faire fonctionner que sur une surface
plane.

• Eviter d’insérer ou de permettre l’insertion de
tout objet dans les fentes de circulation d’air
de l’appareil car ceci pourrait causer un choc
électrique, un incendie ou endommager
l’appareil.

• Ne pas faire fonctionner l’appareil dans un
endroit où sont utilisés ou stockés de
l’essence, de la peinture ou d’autres produits
inflammables.

• La cause de surchauffe la plus fréquente
provient de dépôts de poussière ou de
peluches dans l’appareil. Assurez-vous que
ces dépôts soient enlevés régulièrement en
nettoyant les fentes et grilles d’aération avec
un aspirateur après avoir débranché
l’appareil.

• Toujours utiliser le radiateur en position
verticale. Ne pas utiliser l’appareil dans une
pièce de moins de 4m

• Pour débrancher l’appareil, l’éteindre sur la
position “OFF”, puis retirer la fiche de la prise.
Ne pas tirer sur le cordon car cela pourrait
l’endommager.

Avertissement! Ce radiateur n’est pas équipé
d’un dispositif de contrôle de température de la
pièce. Ne pas utiliser ce radiateur dans de
petites pièces quand celles-ci sont occupées par
des personnes dans l’incapacité de quitter la
pièce par eux-mêmes, sauf si une surveillance
en permanence est assurée.

Sécurité électrique

• Faites réparer ou remplacer toute pièce

• Avant l’utilisation, vérifiez l’état du cordon

d’alimentation pour des signes de
dommages, de vieillissement ou d’usure.

• N’utilisez pas l’appareil si le cordon
d’alimentation ou la fiche secteur sont

endommagés ou défectueux.

Remplacement de la fiche

électrique

En cas d’installation d’une nouvelle fiche:

• Jetez l’ancienne fiche avec prudence

• Connectez le fil marron sur la borne sous
tension de la nouvelle fiche

• Connectez le fil bleu sur la borne neutre

• Si l’appareil est de classe I (mis à la terre),
connectez le fil vert/jaune sur la borne terre.

Avertissement! Si votre appareil est de classe

II à double insolation (seulement 2 fils dans le

cordon), aucune connexion à la borne terre ne
doit être faite.

• Suivre les instructions de montage fournies
avec les fiches de bonne qualité

• Tout fusible de rechange doit être du même
calibre que le fusible d’origine livré avec
l’appareil.

Réglage du mode

Le ventilateur du radiateur comporte un bouton

rotatif de réglage, et vous pouvez sélectionner
différents types d’air en le tournant dans le sens
horaire sur:

Thermostat

Lorsque le mode de chauffage est sélectionné

• Tourner le bouton du thermostat dans le sens
horaire sur la position max.

• Lorsque la température ambiante de la pièce
atteint la température souhaitée, tourner
lentement le bouton du thermostat dans le
sens inverse des aiguilles d’une montre
jusqu’à ce qu’un "click" se fasse entendre.
C’est la température programmée.
Maintenant le thermostat est éteint et le
voyant lumineux s’éteint.

• Le thermostat maintient automatiquement la
température programmée. Il se mettra en
marche lorsque la température de la pièce
passe en dessous et s’éteindra lorsque la
température passe au-dessus.

Utilisation

Votre appareil est équipé d’un thermostat pour
votre sécurité. Une utilisation en continu de
l’appareil pendant de longues périodes peut
entrainer une surchauffe et un arrêt de
l’appareil. Il est alors recommandé de
débrancher l’appareil du secteur et de le laisser
refroidir complètement avant de le réutiliser.

1. Placez l’appareil sur une surface plane et

stable.

2. Branchez-le sur une prise électrique.

3. Sélectionnez le mode de fonctionnement.

4. Réglez le thermostat sur la température
souhaitée.

Entretien et nettoyage

• Mettre l’appareil hors tension, retirer la fiche

de la prise de courant.

• L’appareil est plus facile à nettoyer si vous le
faites immédiatement après usage.

• Ne pas utiliser de produits de nettoyage
abrasifs, de tampons à récurer, d’acétone,
d’alcool etc. pour nettoyer l’appareil.

• Nettoyez le bloc moteur avec un chiffon
humide.

Ne jamais plonger le bloc moteur dans l’eau et

ne pas le rincer sous le robinet.
