Inspection and repairs

using the tool which may not be included

risks can arise from misuse, prolonged

Even with the application of the
relevant safety regulations and the
implementation of safety devices, certain

u Injuries caused by touching any
moving parts.

ensure you take regular breaks.

dust developed when using your

Batteries and chargers
Batteries
u Never attempt to open for any reason.
u Do not expose the battery to water.
u Do not expose the battery to heat.
u Do not store in locations where the
temperature may exceed 40°C.
u Charge only at ambient temperatures
between 10°C and 40°C.
u Charge only using the charger
provided with the appliance/tool.

Using the wrong charger could result
in an electric shock or overheating of
the battery.
u When disposing of batteries, follow
the instructions given in the section
"Protecting the environment".
u Do not damage/deform the battery
pack either by puncture or impact, as
this may create a risk of injury and re.
u Do not charge damaged batteries.
u Under extreme conditions, battery
leakage may occur. When you notice
liquid on the batteries carefully wipe
the liquid off using a cloth. Avoid skin
contact.
u In case of skin or eye contact, follow
the instructions below.
Warning! The battery uid may cause
personal injury or damage to property. In
case of skin contact, immediately rinse
with water. If redness, pain or irritation
occurs seek medical attention. In case of
eye contact, rinse immediately with clean
water and seek medical attention.
Chargers
Your charger has been designed for a
specic voltage.
Always check that the mains voltage
corresponds to the voltage on the rating
plate and the information in the technical
data table.
Warning! Never attempt to replace the
charger unit with a regular mains plug.

only to charge the battery in the
appliance/tool with which it was

Features
This tool includes some or all of the following features.

Operation (Fig. A)
u To turn on slide the On/Off switch (1) forward as shown in
gure A.
u Slide the On/Off switch backward, the appliance stops
working.
Using the Extendable wand (Fig. B, C)
u Slide the extra wide nozzle (4) from out of the dust bowl
(3) as shown in gure B.
u Rotate the two end pieces to form the vacuuming head as
illustrated in gure C.
u Rotate the two wings closed and then push nozzle back
into place.
Note: If the extendable tool pulls completely out from the dust
bowl it can be pressed back in and will lock into positon.
Attaching Accessories
u If you need to use the accessory brush (6), insert the
brush into the air inlet as shown in gure D and then start
the appliance.
u If you need to use the accessory crevice nozzle (5), insert
the crevice nozzle into the air inlet as shown in gure D
and then start the appliance.
Charging (Fig. E, F)
Charging the battery via charger base
(HLVC315B11 and HLVC320B11 only) (Fig. F)
u Make sure that the appliance is switched off. The battery
will not be charged with the on/off switch (1) pressed.
u Place the appliance on the charging bracket (8).

u Plug in the charger. Switch on at the mains.
Warning! Do not charge the battery at ambient temperatures
below 10 °C or above 40 °C.
Charging the battery via charger jack plug
(HLVC315J11 and HLVC320J11 only) (Fig. E)
u Make sure that the appliance is switched off. The battery
will not be charged with the on/off switch (1) pressed.
u Insert the charger jack plug into the charging port.
u Plug in the charger. Switch on at the mains.
u The LED indicator wiil light up.
u While charging, the charger may become warm. This is
normal and does not indicate a problem. The appliance
can be left connected to the charger indenitely.
Warning! Do not charge the battery at ambient temperatures
below 10 °C or above 40 °C.
Cleaning the lters (Fig. G, H, I, J)
u Rotate the dust bowl (3) in a counterclockwise direction to
release from the appliance body as shown in gure G.
u Take out the lter assembly (9) from the dust bowl (3).
u The prelter (9) and lter (9a) can be seperated and
rinsed with water and should be dried afterwards.
u Dispose of the dirt inside the dust bowl as shown in gure
J. The dust bowl can be rinsed by water.
However it needs to be dried afterwards.
Replacing the lters
The lters should be replaced every 6 to 9 months and
whenever worn or damaged.

dealer
Storage
The unit can be safely stored using the charging station.
Maintenance
Your BLACK+DECKER corded/cordless appliance/tool has
been designed to operate over a long period of time with a
minimum of maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation
depends upon proper tool care and regular cleaning.
Warning! Before performing any maintenance on corded/
cordless power tools:
u Switch off and unplug the appliance/tool.
u Or switch off and remove the battery from the appliance/
tool if the appliance/tool has a separate battery pack.
u Or run the battery down completely if it is integral and then
switch off.
u Unplug the charger before cleaning it. Your charger does
not require any maintenance apart from regular cleaning.
u Regularly clean the ventilation slots in your appliance/tool/
charger using a soft brush or dry cloth.
u Regularly clean the motor housing using a damp cloth. Do
not use any abrasive or solvent-based cleaner.
Protecting the environment
Separate collection. Products and batteries
marked with this symbol must not be disposed of

with normal household waste.
Products and batteries contain materials that can be
recovered or recycled reducing the demand for raw materials.
