Intended use
Your Black & Decker concealed coil jug kettle has been
designed for boiling water as described in this manual. Do
not use this appliance for any other purpose. This product is
intended for household use only.
Safety instructions
Warning! When using mains-powered appliances, basic
safety precautions, including the following, should always be
followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, personal
injury and material damage.
X Read all of this manual carefully before using the
appliance.
X The intended use is described in this manual. The use
of any accessory or attachment or the performance of
any operation with this appliance other than those
recommended in this instruction manual may present a
risk of personal injury.
X Retain this manual for future reference.
Using your appliance
X Do not touch hot surfaces. Keep your hands away from
the spout.
X Always take care when using the appliance.
X Never pull the power supply cord to disconnect the plug
from the socket. Keep the power supply cord away from
heat, oil and sharp edges. Do not allow the power
supply cord to hang over the edge of your work top or
table.
X Always place the appliance on a level surface with
adequate free space on all sides.
X Do not place the appliance below a socket outlet. Do not
place the appliance on a wet or slippery surface. Do not
place the appliance on or near heat sources or in a
heated oven.
X Do not use the appliance near flammable or explosive
materials.
X Do not use the appliance outdoors.
X Always protect the appliance from water or excessive
humidity.
X Do not place any utensils in the appliance.
X Do not move the appliance when in use.
X Operate the appliance only with dry hands.
X Do not use the appliance if you have bare feet.
X If the power supply cord is damaged during use,
disconnect the appliance from the power supply
immediately. Do not touch the power supply cord before
disconnecting from the power supply.
X Disconnect the appliance from the power supply when
not in use, before fitting or removing parts and before
cleaning.
X Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning.
Safety of others
X Do not allow children or any person unfamiliar with
these instructions to use the appliance.
X Do not allow children or animals to come near the work
area or to touch the appliance or power supply cord.
Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is
used near children.
X This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been give supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety
X Children must be supervised to make sure that they do
not play with the appliance.
After use
X Switch off and remove the plug from the socket before
leaving the appliance unattended and before changing,
cleaning or inspecting any parts of the appliance.
X When not in use, the appliance should be stored in a dry
place. Children should not have access to stored
appliances.
Inspection and repairs
X Before use, check the appliance for damaged or
defective parts. Check for breakage of parts, damage to
switches and any other conditions that may affect its
operation.
X Do not use the appliance if any part is damaged or
defective.
X Have any damaged or defective parts repaired or
replaced by an authorised repair agent.
X Before use, check the power supply cord for signs of
damage, ageing and wear.
X Do not use the appliance if the power supply cord or
mains plug is damaged or defective.
X If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or an authorised Black & Decker Service
Centre in order to avoid a hazard.
X Never attempt to remove or replace any parts other than
those specified in this manual.
Electrical safety
This product must be earthed. Always check that
the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the
rating plate.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or an authorised Black & Decker Service
Centre in order to avoid a hazard.
To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the cord,
plug or appliance in water or other liquid.

Extension cables & class 1 product
If an extension lead is required a 3 core cable must be used
as your appliance is earthed and of class 1 construction.
X Up to 30m (100ft) can be used without loss of power.
X Power plugs must match the outlet. never modify the
plug in anyway. Do not use any adapter plugs with
earthed (Class 1) appliances. Unmodified plugs and
matching outlets will reduce the risk of electric shock.

Before first use
X Remove all packaging from the appliance,
X Clean the appliance before first use.
X Remove the lid (1) by turning it anti clockwise and lifting
it clear of the unit.
X Fill the kettle with cold water to the maximum fill mark.
Do not overfill as described below.
X Replace the lid (1) by aligning the open icon on the lid
(1) and pip on the kettle body then turn clockwise to
lock. The pip on the body and the close icon should
be aligned.
X Boil the water as described below.
X Discard the boiled water and repeat the procedure.
Use
Warning! Always place the appliance on a flat, clean and
non-slip surface before operating it.
Warning! Always check the water level while using the
appliance. Never use the appliance without sufficient water.
Warning! The outer surfaces of the kettle may become hot
in use.
Warning! Do not remove the lid while the water is boiling.
Warning! Steam may escape from the spout.
Warning! Allow the Appliance to cool before re-filling
Boiling water
X Unplug the kettle and take it to a water outlet
X Remove the lid (1) as described above.
X Fill the kettle with cold water to the desired level. Do not
overfill.
X To prevent dry boiling fill to at least 240ml (two cups)
X Do not fill the kettle beyond the maximum fill mark. If the
kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected from the
spout (6).
X Replace the lid (1) and ensure it is in the locked position
with the closed icon in line with the pip on the body.
X Insert the plug into a power socket. The unit will switch
on immediately and the on/off indicator light (4) will light.
X After a short period the water will begin to boil.
X The unit will continue to boil until the plug is removed
from the power socket. Do not open the lid (1) when the
water is boiling.
Pouring boiled water
X Make sure the unit is disconnected from the power
socket.
X To avoid scalding, tilt the kettle slowly to pour the boiled
water.
Cleaning and maintenance
Warning! Before cleaning and maintenance, switch the
appliance off, remove the plug from the socket and allow the
appliance to cool.
Warning! Do not immerse the appliance or the cord set or
the plug in water or any other liquid.
X Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.
X Do not use scouring pads.
X If necessary, use a mild detergent to remove spots. Do
not use any abrasive or solvent based cleaner.
Descaling the appliance
If the appliance is used in an area with hard water, it is
advised to descale the appliance from time to time.
X Half fill the kettle with cold tap water.
X Add 30 ml of white vinegar.
X Boil the mixture and allow it to stand for 30 seconds.
X Repeat this procedure 2 or 3 times.
X Thoroughly rinse the kettle.
Protecting the environment
Separate collection. This product must not be
disposed of with normal household waste.
Should you find one day that your Black & Decker product
needs replacement, or if it is of no further use to you, do not
dispose of it with household waste. Make this product
available for separate collection.
Separate collection of used products and packaging
allows materials to be recycled and used again. Reuse of recycled materials helps prevent
environmental pollution and reduces the demand
for raw materials.
Local regulations may provide for separate collection of
electrical products from the household, at municipal waste
sites or by the retailer when you purchase a new product.

Dopo l'impiego

Sicurezza elettrica

Cavi di prolunga e prodotti classe 1
Se è necessario utilizzare un cavo di prolunga, usarne uno
a 3 conduttori dato che si tratta di un elettrodomestico classe
1 dotato di terra.
X È possibile usare un cavo lungo 30 m senza che si
verifichi una perdita di potenza.
X Le spine elettriche devono essere adatte alle prese.
Evitare assolutamente di modificare la spina. Non usare
adattatori con elettrodomestici provvisti di messa a terra
(classe 1). L'uso di spine e di prese non modificate
riduce il rischio di scosse elettriche.

Prima del primo impiego
X Togliere l’elettrodomestico dall’imballo.
X Pulire l’elettrodomestico prima di usarlo.
X Togliere il coperchio (1) ruotandolo in senso antiorario e
sollevandolo dal bollitore.
X Riempire il bollitore con acqua fredda fino all’indice di
riempimento massimo. Non riempire eccessivamente
come descritto di seguito.
X Rimettere il coperchio (1) allineando l’icona di apertura
sul coperchio (1) e il puntino sul bollitore e quindi
ruotare in senso orario per chiudere. Il puntino sul
bollitore e l’icona di chiusura devono essere allineati.
X Far bollire l’acqua come descritto di seguito.
X Versare l’acqua bollita e ripetere la procedura.
Utilizzo
Attenzione! Prima di accenderlo, appoggiare sempre
l’elettrodomestico su una superficie pulita e non
sdrucciolevole.
Attenzione! Controllare sempre il livello dell’acqua quando
si usa l'elettrodomestico. Non usare mai l’elettrodomestico
senza una quantità sufficiente di acqua.
Attenzione! Le superfici esterne del bollitore potrebbero
diventare calde durante l’uso.
Attenzione! Non togliere il coperchio mentre l’acqua sta
bollendo.
Attenzione! Il vapore potrebbe fuoriuscire dal becco.
Attenzione! Lasciar raffreddare l’elettrodomestico prima di
riempirlo di nuovo.
Bollitura dell'acqua
X Scollegare il bollitore e andare presso un rubinetto
X Togliere il coperchio (1) come descritto in precedenza.
X Riempire il bollitore con acqua fredda fino al livello
desiderato. Non rifornire eccessivamente.
X Per evitare che il bollitore bolla a secco, riempirlo con
almeno 250 ml di acqua (due tazze).
X Non riempire il bollitore oltre l’indice di riempimento
massimo. Se il bollitore viene riempito eccessivamente,
è possibile che l’acqua venga espulsa dal becco (6).
X Rimettere il coperchio (1) e accertarsi che sia chiuso
con l’icona di chiusura allineata al puntino sul
bollitore.
X Collegare la spina a una presa di corrente. Il bollitore si
accende immediatamente e la spia luminosa di
accensione (4) si illumina.
X Dopo un breve periodo l’acqua comincia a bollire.
X Il bollitore continua a bollire fino a quando la spina viene
scollegata dalla presa di corrente. Non aprire il
coperchio (1) quando l’acqua sta bollendo.
Per versare l'acqua bollita
X Accertarsi che il bollitore sia scollegato dalla presa di
corrente.
X Per evitare ustioni, inclinare lentamente il bollitore per
versare l’acqua bollita.
Pulizia e manutenzione
Attenzione! Prima di pulire l’elettrodomestico e di eseguire
la manutenzione, spegnerlo, scollegare la spina dalla presa
di corrente e lasciare che l’elettrodomestico si raffreddi.
Attenzione! Non immergere l’elettrodomestico, il filo di
alimentazione o la spina in acqua o in qualsiasi altro liquido.
X Strofinare l’esterno con un panno umido.

X Non usare pagliette abrasive.
X Se necessario, usare un detersivo neutro per eliminare
le macchie. Non usare sostanze abrasive o detergenti a
base di solventi.
Disincrostazione dell’elettrodomestico
Se l’elettrodomestico viene usato in una zona con acqua
dura, si consiglia di disincrostarlo di tanto in tanto.
X Riempire a metà il bollitore con acqua di rubinetto.
X Aggiungere 30 ml di aceto bianco.
X Far bollire la miscela e attendere 30 secondi.
X Ripetere questa procedura 2 o 3 volte.
X Risciacquare per bene il bollitore.
Protezione dell’ambiente
Raccolta differenziata. Questo prodotto non deve
essere smaltito con i normali rifiuti domestici.
Nel caso in cui l’elettrodomestico Black & Decker debba
essere sostituito o non sia più necessario, non smaltirlo con
i normali rifiuti domestici. Metterlo da parte per la raccolta
differenziata.
La raccolta differenziata dei prodotti e degli
imballaggi utilizzati consente il riciclaggio dei
materiali e il loro continuo utilizzo. Il riutilizzo dei
materiali riciclati favorisce la protezione
dell’ambiente prevenendo l’inquinamento e riduce il
fabbisogno di materie prime.
Seguire la regolamentazione locale per la raccolta
differenziata dei prodotti elettrici che può prevedere punti di
raccolta o la consegna dell’elettrodomestico al rivenditore
presso il quale viene acquistato un nuovo prodotto.

servizio. Per usufruire di tale servizio, è sufficiente restituire
