Intendeduse
Your Black & Decker blender has been designed for blending, mixing and crushing of solid and liquid food and beverage ingredients. This product is intended for household use only.
Safetyinstructions
u Warning! When using mains-powered appliances, basic
safety precautions, including the following, should always
be followed to reduce the risk of re, electric shock and
personal injury.
u Read this entire manual carefully before using the appliance. u The intended use is described in this manual. The use of
any accessory or attachment or the performance of any operation with this appliance other than those recommended in this instruction manual may present a risk of personal injury.
u Retain this manual for future reference.
Usingyourappliance
u Switch off and unplug the appliance before changing
accessories or approaching parts which move when in use.
u Make sure that the appliance is switched off before
connecting to or disconnecting from the power supply.
u Always take care when using the appliance u Do not use the appliance outdoors. u Do not operate the appliance if your hands are wet. u Do not operate the appliance if you are barefoot. u Do not touch moving parts. Keep long hair and loose
clothing out of the way of the moving parts.
u Guide the power supply cord neatly so it does not hang
over the edge of a worktop and cannot be caught accidentally or tripped over.
u Never pull the power supply cord to disconnect the plug
from the socket. Keep the power supply cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges.
u Switch off and wait for the motor to stop running before
disconnecting the appliance from the power supply.
u Never detach any part or accessory while the appliance is
still connected to the power supply. Always disconnect the
appliance from the power supply rst.
u If the power supply cord is damaged during use,
disconnect the appliance from the power supply immediately. Do not touch the power supply cord before disconnecting from the power supply.
u Disconnect the appliance from the power supply when not
in use, before tting or removing parts and before
cleaning.
u Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply if
it is left unattended.
Always return it to the manufacturer, its Service Agent or
similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.

Beforerstuse
u Before using the appliance for the rst time ensure all
packaging is removed.
u Clean all parts before use.
Afteruse
u Remove the plug from the socket and let the appliance
cool down before leaving it unattended and before changing, cleaning or inspecting any parts of the appliance.
u When not in use, the appliance should be stored in a dry
place.
u Children should not have access to stored appliances.
Inspection and repairs
u Before use, check the appliance for damaged or defective
parts. Check for breakage of parts and any other conditions that may affect its operation.
u Do not use the appliance if any part is damaged or defective. u Have any damaged or defective parts repaired or replaced
by an authorised repair agent.
u Before use, check the power supply cord for signs of
damage, ageing and wear.
u Do not use the appliance if the power supply cord or
mains plug is damaged or defective.
u If the power supply cord or mains plug is damaged or
defective it must be repaired by an authorised repair agent
in order to avoid a hazard. Do not cut the power supply
cord and do not attempt to repair it yourself.
u Never attempt to remove or replace any parts other than
those specied in this manual.

Electrical safety
This appliance is double insulated in accordance

with EN 60335; therefore no earth wire is required. Always check that the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.
To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not immerse

the cord plug or motor unit in water or other liquid.
Overview
This appliance includes some or all of the following features.
1. Speed control switch
2. Blade assembly
3. Jug
4. Lid
5. Pouring hole cover
Assembly(g.A)
Warning! Before assembly, make sure that the appliance is switched off and unplugged.
Assemblingthejug(g.A)
u Place the seal (9) on the blade assembly (2). u Position the blade assembly in the underside of the jug (3). u Rotate the blade assembly counterclockwise to lock it into
place.
Warning! Do not overtighten the blade assembly.
u Place the lid (4) on the jug. u Turn the lid (4) clockwise until it locks into place. u Place the pouring hole cover (5) in the lid (4).
Warning! Take care when emptying the jug and when handling the blades as they are very sharp.
u For longer operation, turn the speed control switch (1) to
position 1 (low speed) or 2 (high speed). To switch off, turn the switch to position 0.
Warning! Do not operate the appliance continuously for more
than 2 minutes. After operating the appliance continuously for 2 minutes, let it cool down for at least 10 minutes before operating it again.
Blending
Before tting the lid (4) add the ingredients. The ingredients
can be topped up by inserting them through the pouring hole.
Warning! Never operate the appliance without the lid.
Warning! Take care when emptying the jug and when
handling the blades as they are sharp.
u Set the unit up for blending as described above. u Open the pouring hole or remove the lid (4). u Add the required ingredients into the jug (3).
Warning! Do not exceed the MAX level (1.4 litres).
u Fit the lid and pouring hole cover onto the jug. u Operate the appliance as described above. It is
recommended to start at low speed, then change to high speed if necessary.
u Turn the jug counterclockwise and lift it off the motor unit. u Remove the lid. u Pour the ingredients out.

u Remove the jug from the appliance. u Remove the lid from the jug. u Pour the ingredients out.

u Position the jug (3) on the motor unit, aligning the lugs (6)
with the recesses (7).
u Fix the jug by turning it clockwise until the lugs (6) engage
in the slots (8).
u To remove the jug, turn the jug counter-clockwise and take

Warning! Always place the unit on a at, clean and non-slip
surface before operating it.
Switching on and off
u In order to briey switch on, turn the speed control switch
(1) to position P. To switch off, release the switch.

Cleaning and maintenance
Warning! Be careful when cleaning the blades as they are
sharp.
Warning! Before cleaning and maintenance, switch the appliance off and unplug it.
u Always clean the appliance immediately after use. u Wipe the motor unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse
the motor unit or blender base in water. Wash the other parts in warm water and dry carefully.

u If necessary, the blade assembly can be removed and
cleaned separately.
u Do not use abrasives or chemical cleaners on any part
this appliance.
u Do not wash any parts of the appliance in a dishwasher. u Do not attempt to sharpen the blades as this could
damage them.
Protecting the environment
Separate collection. This product must not be

disposed of with normal household waste.
Should you nd one day that your Black & Decker product
needs replacement, or if it is of no further use to you, do not dispose of it with household waste. Make this product available for separate collection.
Separate collection of used products and packaging
