Chapter 2: Overview
2. Overview
2.1 Introduction
Route digital DVI video from various sources (such as a satellite receiver, DVD player, and PC) to a high-definition display (such as a TV) with the economical 3 x 1, 4 x 1, or 8 x 1 DVI-D Switch from Black Box.
It features a signal enhancer that helps improve signal quality over a long-distance transmission from source to screen. Running digital video over DVI cable longer than 15 feet (1.5 m), you might very well experience signal degradation at the remote screen. This switch, however, is designed to amplify the DVI video signal as far as 60 feet (18.2 m).
Plus, it’s easy to install and operate. Connect all your digital video sources (DVD players, satellite set-top boxes, PCs) to any of the inputs on the switch and connect the output cable to your HD display. Then when you want to switch video ports, simply press a button on the included remote controller or the switch’s front panel.
NOTE: Equipped with DVI-I ports. Supports digital video only.
2.2 Features
• Switch on the front panel or from the included IR remote controller.
• Route video from three, four, or eight sources to a common digital display.
• Tested to guarantee resolution up to 1080p without signal degradation.
• Signal enhancer amplifies video as far as 60 feet (18.2 m).
• HDCP 1.1 and DVI 1.0 compliant.
• Ideal for use in conference rooms, classrooms, or corporate theaters.
2.3 What’s Included
Your package should include the following items. If anything is missing or damaged, contact Black Box Technical Support at 724-746-5500 or info@blackbox.com.
