WARRANTY
1
The device is a “supplementary image storage device for vehicles”, for the automatic recording of video and voice
data while driving.
* We cannot guarantee that ALL data will be captured at all times. This product may be used for capturing the cause of a traffic accident. * We cannot be responsible for any loss or damage, due to failure of the device to capture information.
The device will record video and voice data into two types of file. Primarily, normal files are recorded during a typical period of driving. However, event files are created when triggered by excessive G-Force detected by the sensor (in the event of accident or break-in etc.).
The device continuously records video and, if required,
audio data while driving. It’s storage time varies depending
on factors, such as, the size of SD card used and external image conditions (number of events logged, video complexity & number of journeys undertaken). Our tests indicate that a standard 8GB SD card will hold about 8 hours of captured data before overwrite begins.
Importantly, always backup SD card data onto separate storage devices, such as, a personal computer or notebook where possible. When attempting to retain files note that the device will overwrite the data on a first-in first-out basis. This starts from the oldest file and works in a sequential order. Please be aware that the over-write function initiates not only on normal files but also on event files so it is important to copy event files if you wish to retain them.

Page 4
1. NOTICES - Important Notes for use of Product
1. A continuous warning sound occurs when memory
card is unreadable, not inserted correctly or memory card door is open.
2. Rating voltage of power supply is DC 12 ~ 24V.
3. Please note that the recording LED blinks after
connecting power cable.
4. Video and audio data recordings begin approximately
1 min after starting vehicle and product initialization.
5. The recording LED will not blink if the memory card is
unreadable or not inserted correctly.
6. The device will continue to record video and audio
data for about 5 to 10 seconds after power is removed.
7. Video and audio data records only when the memory
card door is closed to maximize data protection.
8. You should only connect power as recommended
using the cable supplied or similar connector.
9. The event record function will vary with the mounting
position in the vehicle. This is due to the G-Sensor sensitivity changing with its position in the vehicle.
10. Use only BLACKBOX recommended memory cards for
high speed storage and data reliability (use of an inferior memory card may result in incomplete data due to data transfer limitations of other cards).
11. You should replace an old memory card with a new
one periodically (about once per year) for data reliability. For further information please see Page 6.
12. At all times back-up important data on another
suitable storage medium, such as, (HDD, CD, USB).

Q. The Memory Card is broken what can I do? A. We recommend contacting your BLACKBOX Technologies
for a replacement card.
Q. The device was damaged in an accident, is it possible to have it repaired? A. If the device is involved in a severe accident and the unit is
heavily damaged the unit may be un-repairable and data could be lost. Please contact us about repair.
Q. When the Memory Card is full, is the old data erased? A. The device overwrites the oldest files enabling newer files to be
recorded. After an incident remove the memory card, to retrieve and back-up important information quickly.
Q. The captured video is hazy or blurred? A. Please clean the lens with a soft, dry lens cloth.
Q. How do I increase the length of recording time before the unit overwrites data? A. An 8Gb card is supplied with each unit. For longer recording
times larger memory cards are available from us. Please note when purchasing an after market SD Card that some retail memory cards may not have the desired read/write speeds to support the unit.
Q. I am changing the settings through the viewing software but
they are not saving to the SD Card, what should I do?
A. Please update your drivers if you are using an in-built SD
reader on your PC/laptop. Alternatively, you can purchase an external SD Card reader device from a reputable PC store.
8. Q & A
25
Page 7
Q. Can the device be mounted anywhere? A. Yes, but, attach the device in a location where the driver’s

After adjusting the angle of the camera, tighten the clamp and lock into position. The main body of the device should now be firmly in place with the mounting bracket tightly secured. Please test this by gently attempting to swivel the bracket and device.
After the power cable is connected to the main body, carefully bind the extension wire with the clips supplied. Next, start the vehicle’s ignition and wait for the unit to power-up. This is signified by the LEDs flashing from one to the next and is followed by an audio tone that highlights the device is now ready for use.
It is now important to test the device to become familiar with its functioning.
The power cable should then be inserted to power-up the device. This is illustrated in the picture on the right.
13
