QUICK START GUIDE
STEP 1 - Connect the local unit to a DTE device
Connect the local unit's DB9 female connector to a PC or Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) device.

STEP 2 - Connect the remote unit to a DCE device

Connect the remote unit's DB9 male connector to a Data Communication Equipment (DCE) device.

DCE = Data Carrier Equipment (configured to connect to a PC with a straight-pinned cable)
DTE = Data Terminal Equipment (configured to connect to a DCE device with a straight-pinned cable)
STEP 3 - Connect local and remote units together
CONNECT LOCAL AND REMOTE UNITS
Connect the local and remote units together with a straight-through CAT5 or CAT6 twisted­pair cable.

STEP 4 - Power on the line drivers
POWE R ON
1.Once all connections are made, use the supplied 5-VDC power supplies to power on the line drivers.
2. Apply power to your equipment.
