he Modem 32144 provides
flexible, high-performance data
communications at 19.2 kbps for
sync traffic, 57.6 kbps for async
traffic, and 14.4 kbps for fax traffic.
It’s easy to set up for both local
and remote devices. Plus it
features continuous DTE and
telephone line status reporting
and comprehensive diagnostics.
The Modem 32144 operates
at 19.2 kbps full-duplex over
standard 2-wire Public Switched
Telephone Networks (PSTN)
dialup lines and over 4-wire
unconditioned leased lines.
Group III Class 1 and Class 2
fax machines are supported by
the Modem 32144 as well as
multiple modulation standard
and speeds for fax transmission.

Integrated support for fax
traffic means the Modem 32144
works with standard communications software packages to:
receive faxes on your DTE and
print them on a local printer, send
faxes directly from your DTE, and
send data at rates up to 57.6 kbps.
Automatic dial backup for
leased-line applications is also
supported by the Modem 32144.
The modem monitors the received
carrier level and line quality. If
performance drops below the
selected thresholds, the Modem
32144 will automatically establish
a dial connection to the remote
modem. Automatic loop-back
enables the communications path
to be returned to the leased line
when conditions permit.
