2. Overview
2.1 Introduction
The 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Web Smart Switch provides eight 10-/100-/1000­Mbps ports. The switch also includes built-in firmware that enables you to manage the switch via a Web browser.
The compact switch is easy to install. It‘s ideal for small to medium workgroups, and you can install it where space is limited.

• Autonegotiates speed between 10, 100, and 1000 Mbps
• Housed in a 9" deep desktop-sized metal case
• Automatically learns networking configurations
• Automatically detects full-/half-duplex modes for any port
• Provides dedicated 2000-Mbps bandwidth

• Offers IEEE 802.x flow control for full-duplex and backpressure flow control for
half-duplex
• Includes non-blocking and non-head-of-line blocking full-wire-speed forwarding

3. Configuration
Follow the steps described here to configure the 8-Port Gigabit Web Smart switch.
Step 1:
Using a twisted-pair cable, connect the switch to your PC.
Step 2:
Set your PC’s IP to 192.168.1.xx.
Step 3:
Open the Web browser (like Internet Explorer…), and go to 192.168.1.1 site. The login screen will appear.

Type in the user ID and the password:
IP : 192.168 .1.1
Password: admin
After the authentication procedure completes, the home page appears.
Step 4:
On the Home page, choose from the following options:

Change the password and select the auto logout time, and click “Apply” to confirm the changes. Reset the switch by powering it off and then on again so the changes will take effect.

The IP address screen shows the switch’s MAC address.

You can change the IP address, and then click “Apply” to confirm the change. Reset the switch by powering it off and then on again so the changes will take effect.

Switch Features: VLAN Table
Select and add a group into “VLAN ID” and then click the port number that you want to put into the selected VLAN group with a tag or without a tag.

Switch Features: Port Monitoring
The switch uses port monitoring to monitor and analyze traffic from a source port to a destination port.
Select the destination port from Port 1 to Port 8, and then select the source port by clicking on the check box in the Port Monitoring screen.

Set a new static MAC Address for the port that you want to configure.

You can enable or disable Broadcast Storm Filter and Jumbo Frame Reception. You can also select the following optons:
• Broadcast Storm Rate Limit from 8 kbps to 1016 Mbps
• Jumbo Frame size from 1523 to 4992 KB of this switch
• Forwarding Table Aging Time from 0 to 98301 seconds
