f your PC came without an

Ethernet port, you can easily add
a port with the Pure Networking
PCI Bus Network Adapter. Or, if
your computer is equipped
with only a 10-Mbps 10BASE-T
port, you can upgrade to a
10-/100-Mbps or 10-/100-/
1000-Mbps port that supports Fast
Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet.

Two models are available: one
for 10/100 Mbps and the other for
10/100/1000 Mbps. Both adapters
install easily into the PCI slot of
your computer; both work with 10­Mbps Ethernet networks and 100­Mbps Fast Ethernet networks. The
LG9230CTX-32 also works with
1000-Mbps Gigabit Ethernet.

PURE NETWORKING PCI BUS NETWORK ADAPTERS

Operation is seamless, too.
Thanks to autonegotiation
technology, the adapter
automatically senses the network
speed of the connected device.

The adapters support half- or
full-duplex operation. In full­duplex mode, the adapter doubles
the speed of the type of Ethernet
it’s connected to—up to 200
Mbps (for the LE1600C-R2) or 2000
Mbps (for the LG9230CTX-32)!

Here’s how it works: When
you’re using a 10BASE-T network,
the PC is connected to the
peripheral device via two pairs of
Category 3, 4, or 5 cable. When

your network is 100BASE-TX, the
cable type is Category 5 and the
connection uses two pairs of the
CAT5 cable. Step up to a 1000­Mbps network, and the PC will
operate over four pairs of
Category 5 cable.

A CD-ROM is included with
the LG9230CTX-32. It contains
drivers to support Windows
