OVERVIEW
Neat and tidy.
The sleek ServView™III enables you to spiff up your server
room and manage your data center CPUs while making the
most of limited space.
Designed for heavy-duty use, this rackmountable
keyboard, monitor, and mouse combination offers all the
benefits of a high-performance, ergonomic workstation
without requiring a lot of space.
The ServView III consists of a keyboard, monitor, and
mouse all built into a drawer that takes only 1U (1.75") of
space. Mount one in a standard 19" cabinet or four-post rack
and you can replace that bulky keyboard, monitor, and mouse
you’ve been using.
The ServView III is the best way to keep your keyboard,
monitor, and mouse out of view when not needed. Just slide
the drawer out and flip up the flat-screen monitor to work.
When you’re done, simply slide the ServView III back in place.
The front panel conceals the unit when not in use.
Large and clear.
Go easy on your eyes and easier on your server switching
with the ServView III. It features a large 19" TFT/LCD display
that provides sharp video with up to 1280 x 1024 resolution
and a 75-Hz refresh rate. It’s also VGA, SVGA, and XGA
compatible. The flat, easy-to-view color display takes up less
space than conventional monitor screens. Plus, there’s no
annoying screen flicker. With the ServView III, you can save
monitor space without sacrificing video quality. There’s never
been a clearer choice for switching between servers.
Full-size and convenient.
You don’t give up typing comfort with the ServView III.
Because the built-in keyboard is full size and features a
numeric keypad, it feels just like your desktop keyboard.
You can also place the ServView III in your cabinet or rack at
a typing height that’s comfortable for you. And, because the
unit is rackmounted, it’s especially convenient when you need
to access computers that are installed in nearby racks.
Easy installation.
Installation is quick and easy. ServView III includes mounting
rails and fits into a 28"- to 36"-deep cabinet. Don’t worry
about configuration either because the ServView III’s monitor
is plug-and-play compatible. Your PC system will easily
identify and configure itself for use with the ServView III.
There are no hassles and there’s no confusion.
You can also connect the ServView III to a KVM ServSwitch
™
with a single composite cable. Plus, the external cable-carrying
arm reduces cable clutter.
Once installed, the ServView III is easy to use. A heavy-duty
trackball mouse or glidepoint touchpad mouse makes it easy
to select servers and CPUs without worrying about adding a
separate platform for a mouse.
Good viewing.
You can adjust the image on the ServView screen with
front-panel controls or an on-screen display. The monitor also
provides a self-test feature that enables you to check whether
it’s functioning properly.
The monitor includes a built-in power management
system. It saves energy by switching your monitor into a lowpower mode when it has not been used for a certain amount
of time. To get the monitor to return to normal operation,
just move the mouse or press a keyboard key.
When used with a computer that has VESA DPMS
functionality, the monitor achieves EPA Energy Star
®
and
NUTEK Energy 2000 compliance.
The ServView III includes an autosensing 100- to 240-VAC
power supply.
Also keep in mind that LCD monitors consume less power
and generate less heat than CRTs do. That makes them ideal
for equipment-dense cabinet and rack installations where
you need maximum airflow. You can reduce your ventilation
requirements and overall computer room cooling costs.
Switching options.
ServView III is available in a base model (KVT140A-R2,
KVT171A, KVT181A, KVT191A) or in models that include a
built-in ServSwitch. The ServSwitch fits into the same 1U
of rack space as the ServView III. Choose from four units.
