OVERVIEW
Just because you’re not in the office doesn’t mean you
have to be out of touch. The Fax/Messaging Partner delivers
your messages and faxes whenever and wherever you
want them.
The Fax/Messaging Partner is a multifunction, single-line
dialup automated attendant for collecting or forwarding
voice mail and faxes, and even offers fax-on-demand. Just
connect it to an incoming phone line (or phone-system
extension) and to your PC for programming. Once you’ve
programmed the Partner, it’s completely independent of
the PC—it even works when the PC is off.
The Fax/Messaging Partner answers incoming calls with
greetings. The caller can access eight voice mailboxes, one
incoming fax mailbox, and one fax-on-demand box. Each
voice mailbox has an individual greeting and will take a
message or transfer the call to another phone number. You
can also answer the phone attached to the Fax/Messaging
Partner and then transfer it back to the Partner if the caller
wants to leave a voice message or access Fax-On-Demand.
Retrieve voice messages remotely or use the phone
attached to the Partner, or retrieve messages through your
computer and forward them to other voice mailboxes. Each
voice or fax box can also be programmed to notify a pager
when time messages or faxes are received. The pager tells you
where the message was received, the number of messages
or pages received, the amount of storage left in the Partner,
and the caller’s ID.
The Fax/Messaging Partner automatically detects and
receives incoming faxes. Print stored faxes directly to the
attached printer, retrieve them from a remote location (using
a standard fax machine or a computer equipped with a fax
modem), or forward them to another location and upload to
your PC. Daisychain multiple Fax/Messaging Partners to allow
multiple incoming fax lines to print faxes to a single printer.
Send faxes directly from any Windows program, and
(if you have LAN in your office) the Partner will allow any
computer on the network to send faxes. No need for separate
phone lines and fax modems for each station!
Create Fax-On-Demand documents directly from Windows
®
applications by printing documents into the Fax/Messaging
Partner. Each document can be voice-annotated. Or disable
dialing out (forcing callers to call from their fax machines and
pay phone charges) or block specific phone prefixes (such as
900 numbers).
The Fax/Messaging Partner, when connected between a
PC and a printer, will automatically perform printer buf fering
(with up to 64 MB of storage) while performing all other
functions.
Built-in chargeable batteries keep the Fax/Messaging
Partner operational during power failures and provide up
to two hours of talk time and 150 hours of standby time.
