Language Quick Reference Booklet

This booklet provides instructions on using a language other than English on your BlackBerry Wireless Handheld.

Load languages on your handheld

Use the Application Loader tool to load languages onto your handheld. You can load more than one language onto your handheld at a time.

Note: English is always loaded on your handheld.

1.Connect your handheld to your computer.

2.Open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

3.Double-click the Application Loader icon. The Application Loader Wizard window appears.

4.Click Next. The Handheld Application Selection window appears.

5.In the Application Name section, select the check box beside the language that you want to load onto your handheld.

6.Click Next. The Summary screen appears.

7.Click Finish.

Select a language on your handheld

After you load one or more languages onto your handheld, you can change the language in which your handheld operates.

1.On the Home screen, click the Options icon. The Options screen appears.

2.Click Localization. The Localization screen appears.

3.In the Locale field, press the Space key until the preferred language appears.

4.Click the trackwheel. A menu appears.

5.Click Save. The handheld operates in the language that you selected.

Set the date and time

You can change the time zone and the date and time format on your handheld.

Note: If you change the time zone, your handheld adjusts the time automatically.

1.On the Home screen, click the Options icon. The Options screen appears.

2.Click Date/Time. The Date/Time screen appears.

3.In the following fields, press the Space key until the preferred option appears:

Field	Description
Time Zone	Set your time zone.

Time	Set the current time.

Time Format	Select a 12-hour or 24-hour clock.

Date	Set the current date.

Field	Description
Auto Time Set	Set whether your handheld time is updated automatically based on the selected time
	zone.

Network Date	This field displays the current date on the wireless network.

Network Time	This field displays the current time on the wireless network.

4.Click the trackwheel. A menu appears.

5.Click Save. The options are saved.

Tip: To copy the current date and time from the wireless network to your handheld, on the Date/Time screen, click the trackwheel. A menu appears. Click Copy Network Time.

Type with accents

To type accented characters, hold a letter key and roll the trackwheel to scroll through the accents and symbols that are associated with that character. Release the letter key to insert the character.

Use AutoText

The AutoText function automatically replaces text that you type with programmed text. A set of default AutoText entries is provided for each language. You can add AutoText entries to the set for all languages or assign your entry to a particular language.

Create an AutoText entry

1.On the Home screen, click the Options icon. The Options screen appears.

2.Click AutoText. The AutoText screen appears.

3.Click the trackwheel. A menu appears.

4.Click New. The AutoText: New screen appears.

5.In the following fields, type AutoText information:

Field	Description
Replace	Type a word or a combination of letters.

With	Type the text that replaces the word.
	To insert a macro (for example, the current date), click the trackwheel. A menu appears. Click
	Insert Macro. The Insert macro dialog box appears. Click a macro.

6. In the following fields, press the Space key until the preferred option appears:

Field	Description	Default
Using	Select one of the following options:	SmartCase
	Specified Case: The capitalization of the AutoText entry appears exactly
	as you typed it.
	SmartCase: The capitalization of the AutoText entry changes depending
	on the context in which it is used.

Locale	Set whether the AutoText entry is available in all languages that are on	current display
	your handheld or in a specific language only.	language

7.Click the trackwheel. A menu appears.

8.Click Save. The AutoText entry is saved.

Kurzeinleitung zu Spracheneinstellungen

In dieser Kurzeinleitung wird beschrieben, wie auf Ihrem BlackBerry Wireless Handheld andere Sprachen außer Englisch verwendet werden können.

Laden von Sprachen auf das Handheld

Verwenden Sie das Programm zum Laden von Anwendungen, um Sprachen auf Ihr Handheld zu laden. Es können mehrere Sprachen gleichzeitig auf Ihr Handheld geladen werden.

Anmerkung: Englisch ist standardmäßig auf Ihrem Handheld vorhanden.

1.Verbinden Sie das Handheld mit dem Computer.

2.Öffnen Sie den BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

3.Doppelklicken Sie auf das Symbol für das Programm zum Laden von Anwendungen. Das Programm zum Laden von Anwendungen wird angezeigt.

4.Klicken Sie auf Weiter. Das Fenster zur Auswahl der Handheld-Anwendung wird geöffnet.

5.Aktivieren Sie im Abschnitt Name der Anwendung das Kontrollkästchen neben der Sprache, die Sie auf Ihr Handheld laden möchten.

6.Klicken Sie auf Weiter. Die Seite Zusammenfassung wird angezeigt.

7.Klicken Sie auf Fertigstellen.

Auswählen der Sprache auf dem Handheld

Wenn Sie mehr als eine Sprache auf das Handheld geladen haben, können Sie die Sprache ändern, die auf Ihrem Handheld eingestellt ist.

1.Klicken Sie auf der Startseite auf das Symbol Optionen . Die Seite Optionen wird angezeigt.

2.Klicken Sie auf Sprachoptionen. Die Seite Sprachoptionen wird angezeigt.

3.Drücken Sie im Feld Sprache die Leertaste, bis die gewünschte Sprache angezeigt wird.

4.Klicken Sie mit dem Trackwheel. Es wird ein Menü geöffnet.

5.Klicken Sie auf Speichern. Das Handheld verwendet die von Ihnen ausgewählte Sprache.

Einstellen von Datum und Uhrzeit

Sie können die Zeitzone, das Datum und das Zeitformat auf Ihrem Handheld ändern.

Anmerkung: Wenn Sie die Zeitzone ändern, wird die Zeit automatisch umgestellt.

1.Klicken Sie auf der Startseite auf das Symbol Optionen. Die Seite Optionen wird angezeigt.

2.Klicken Sie auf Datum/Uhrzeit. Die Seite Datum/Uhrzeit wird angezeigt.

Uhrzeit	Stellen Sie die aktuelle Uhrzeit ein.

Zeitformat	Wählen Sie zwischen einer 12-Stunden-Uhr und einer 24-Stunden-Uhr.

Datum	Stellen Sie das aktuelle Datum ein.

Feld	Beschreibung
Automatische	Legen Sie fest, ob die Handheld-Zeit entsprechend der ausgewählten Zeitzone
Zeiteinstellung	automatisch aktualisiert werden soll.

Netzwerkdatum	In diesem Feld wird das aktuelle Datum im drahtlosen Netzwerk angezeigt.

Netzwerkzeit	In diesem Feld wird die aktuelle Zeit im drahtlosen Netzwerk angezeigt.

4.Klicken Sie mit dem Trackwheel. Es wird ein Menü geöffnet.

5.Klicken Sie auf Speichern. Die Optionen werden gespeichert.

Tip: Klicken Sie mit dem Trackwheel, um das aktuelle Datum und die aktuelle Uhrzeit vom drahtlosen Netzwerk auf die Seite Datum/Uhrzeit des Handhelds zu kopieren. Es wird ein Menü geöffnet. Klicken Sie auf Netzwerkzeit übernehmen.

Eingeben von Akzenten

Halten Sie die Buchstabentaste gedrückt, während Sie das Trackwheel drehen, um bei der Eingabe akzentuierter Zeichen durch die Akzente und Symbole zu scrollen, die mit diesem Zeichen verbunden sind. Lassen Sie die Buchstabentaste los, um das Zeichen einzufügen.

Verwenden von AutoText

Die AutoText-Funktion ersetzt automatisch einen bestimmten eingegebenen Text durch programmierten Text. Für jede Sprache werden mehrere standardmäßige AutoText-Einträge angeboten. Sie können AutoText-Einträge für alle Sprachen festlegen oder Ihren Eintrag einer bestimmte Sprache zuweisen.

Erstellen von AutoText-Einträgen

1.Klicken Sie auf der Startseite auf das Symbol Optionen. Die Seite Optionen wird angezeigt.

2.Klicken Sie auf AutoText. Die Seite AutoText wird angezeigt.

3.Klicken Sie mit dem Trackwheel. Es wird ein Menü geöffnet.

4.Klicken Sie auf Neu. Die Seite Autotext: Neu wird angezeigt

5.Geben Sie in den folgenden Feldern AutoText-Informationen ein:

Feld	Beschreibung
Ersetzen	Geben Sie ein Wort oder eine Buchstabenkombination ein.

Durch	Geben Sie den Text ein, der das Wort ersetzt.
	Klicken Sie mit dem Trackwheel, um ein Makro (beispielsweise das aktuelle Datum)
	einzufügen. Es wird ein Menü geöffnet. Klicken Sie auf Makro einfügen. Das Dialogfeld
	Makro einfügen wird angezeigt. Klicken Sie auf ein Makro.
