BP150 Safety Guide and User Manual
Congratulations on purchasing BiX Power BP150 External Battery Pack.
Please read these instructions in entirety before using BP150 external battery pack. All batteries contain energy and should be used, stored, and disposed of in an appropriate manner.
The BP150 battery has been shipped in a partially discharged state and will reach full capacity after its first recharge.
Caution: Misuse or abuse of the BP150 battery may result in personal injury or fire.
Package Contents:
Battery AC Charger 12V Car Charger Output Cord
This battery pack comes with many different connector tips. Connector tips included with the battery pack varies from time to time. We may discontinue some old tips and add some new tips according to market demands without notice. Some connectors may need to purchase separately.
1. Charge the Battery:
prolonged storage period), this battery may require three to four charge/discharge cycles before achieving its maximum capacity.
This battery has its own AC battery charger and 12V car charger. You can charge it from any 110V or 220V AC power source or from a car 12V cigarette lighter socket with the 12V car charger. Both AC charger or 12V car charger need to connect to the input port of the battery pack. Wait for the battery to be fully charged before doing the following.
Part I. Charge the battery
Step 1
The BP150 battery has been shipped in a partially discharged state. Upon initial use (or after a

LED light turns red while charging. It will flash when the battery is fully charged.
Reminder: The battery might become warm while charging. It is normal for a battery to become warm to the touch during charging and discharging.
Part II. Power Status: Different lighting condition of the LED display shows respective current power level of the battery:
Condition of LED display Power Level
Less than 25% available
25-50% available
51-75% available
76-100% available
Reminder: Do not exhaust the battery. Recharge before power is completely consumed.
LED lights on the battery display the charged level by measure the output voltage of the battery, so it is not very accurate unless each battery is individually calibrated. Sometime, the 4th LED will never lights up even the battery is 99% charged. You can tell whether the battery is fully charged by the LED light on the AC charger: the LED on AC charge will turn to green when the battery is fully charged.
2. Set DC Output Voltage: After the battery has been fully charged, set the voltage output of the battery close to your
notebook DC power input requirement. It is the same as the DC output voltage of your device AC power adapter or your device input voltage.
Step 1a: Refer to the label on AC adapter for your notebook to check the "Output Voltage"
Step 1b: Refer to the label stuck on the bottom of your notebook - to check the "power input" requirement.
Step 2:
Select an output voltage, push the button to 16V or 19V, which closes to the power input requirement of your notebook. 16V output is compatible with a 15-17V notebook; and 19V is compatible with 18V-20V.
3. Select right tips:
Included with the battery are different connector tips and an output cable (Z6
Power Cable). One end of the output cable connects to the battery output port. The Z6 output cable may fit a lot of laptops directly without a connector tip. If the output cable does not fit
your laptop, find the connector tip that fits your laptop first. With the connector tip not connected to the output cable, locate the correct connector tip by fitting it into the DC Jack of your laptop. The connector tip should fit snugly.
Note: C15, C21 ( or C22) and C24 tips look very similar, but they are for different laptops. C15 is mainly for IBM/Lenovo laptops, C21 (or C22) is for Dell laptops and C24 is for HP Compaq laptops.
4. Plug the tips: Plug the selected connector into the battery output cord. Then, plug one end of the output cord into the battery output port. Now you are ready to use it.
5. USB Port: There is a 5V USB port on the battery behind the USB port cover. However, this battery pack does not come with any cable for the USB port. Our optional Z4 cable and connector tips work with the 5V USB port.
6. On/Off: When you plug the output power cable into the battery output port, the battery is turned on. When you unplug the output power cable, the battery is turned off. Please unplug the output power cable to turn off the battery when you don’t
use the battery. Leave the battery “on” may build up static inside the battery cells and damage the battery.
7. Please make sure the battery is well ventilated during use. Keep some clear space around the battery.
If your notebook internal battery is in good condition and has been fully charged, you can leave it in your notebook. Otherwise, we recommend you removing the internal battery from your notebook to maximize the running time of your external battery.
The battery could provide power supply to devices with different voltage at the same time. It can also output power when the charger is charging the battery.
Special Notes for Dell Notebook Computers:
Some Dell laptop BIOS has a special setting. If it detects a non Dell brand AC power adapter connected, it’ll give error warning messages or refuse to work even though this product will work perfectly with it. You can ignore the error messages by simply pressing the “F3” key to skip the error message and continue; or just disable the warning setting in the BIOS (after entering the BIOS setting, look for POST setting).
