Compact and light weight design, easy to use and carry. CYCLOPS 2 is implemented with CMOS Image scanner which can read both
1D and 2D barcodes.
CYCLOPS 2 can read inverted barcode. You can charge CYCLOPS 2 via AC adapter or through the USB connection of
host device.
With Bluetooth connection, CYCLOPS 2 can transmit the scanned data to PC,
laptop, or other mobile devices.
If you use iPhone or iPad (iOS), you can use the software keyboard on them.
Also up to 8,000 scanned data ( size per data: 2048-Byte) can be stored with its massive storage function.
When you are using CYCLOPS 2 USB port to connect with host devices, it will
be recognized as a mobile storage device and data stored inside can be easily retrieved and uploaded.
Built-in Real-Time Clock (RTC) function can save date & time together with scanned data. You can also save the configuration file into host device which can be
duplicated into multiple CYCLOPS 2 to simplify the set-up process.
Buzzer volume can be configured in OFF/ High/ Mid/ Low 4 levels.
Items Inside the Package:
Please confirm if there is any item missing in the package when you open it. Contact your supplier immediately if there is anything missing or broken.
Operating Modes:
There are three different operating modes for various application needs.
Real-Time Mode (choice between HID or SPP profile)
Scanned data will be transmitted via Bluetooth to host device right after scanning. Error message will also be shown if the transmission is failed.
Batch Mode
Scanned data can be saved into memory after scanning. Stored data can be retrieved via one of the following two ways: (1) Using BT SPP program to retrieve data file; or (2) Connecting CYCLOPS 2 with host device via USB port to retrieve data file.
Hybrid Mode
Under this mode, CYCLOPS 2 will transfer scanned data automatically (similar to Real-Time Mode). When CYCLOPS 2 is out of BT communication range or been

Charging the Battery:
CYCLOPS 2 is installed with Lithium-ion battery but not fully charged. Please fully charge it before the 1st time use under the environmental temperature of 5℃~35.
1. Charging with AC adapter : You can charge CYCLOPS 2 using the AC adapter via charging contacts. Please be cautious on the orientation of the connection plug.
2. Charging with USB cable : You can also start charging CYCLOPS 2 through AC cable connected with USB
port of host device.
Do not operate CYCLOPS 2 while it is being charged via USB port as the power
surge might damage the USB port.
The USB connection via AC cable can not be used for data transmission. It is
for battery charging purpose only.
It will take about 2.5-hr to fully charge CYCLOPS 2 via the AC adapter. It will take about 3-hr to fully charge CYCLOPS 2 through USB port.
Please do not charge CYCLOPS 2 through USB hub. Please use ONLY the standard AC adapter in CYCLOPS 2 box. It might cause
charging failure or damage the device if using other unauthorized AC adapter.
3. Charging Time :
Charging time required will vary depending on the actual application of CYCLOPS 2 and the condition of CYCLOPS 2 battery pack.
4. Life span of CYCLOPS 2 Li-ion battery pack : General life span of Li-ion battery pack is around 300 times charging/discharging cycles.
Default System Value:
2. Power OFF When CYCLOPS 2 is standing-by for a period of time, it will be OFF automatically (default: 3-min) to conserve battery power. There is no “POWER” switch on CYCLOPS 2.
3. RESET to Default System Value Please press the RESET button while CYCLOPS 2 is ON (it will be OFF automatically after been RESET).
4. Bluetooth Communication Before using Bluetooth communication, please make Paring connection with the host device. Default PIN code is 0000. You can easily start connection through Bluetooth host device and can be confirmed by the BT LED status indication. Also, you can scan configuration barcodes to switch communication mode to SPP Master.
5. Barcode Scanning Please press the SCAN key to scan the barcode. Scanning result can be confirmed by the SCAN LED status. Scanning the setup barcode at the right to confirm if CYCLOPS 2 is able to scan.
Communication with iPad and iPhone:
Under default, you can easily connect iPad or iPhone using BT HID Profile. Software keyboard on iPad or iPhone can be displayed or hidden by pressing the FUNCTION key on CYCLOPS 2.

You can scan those configuration barcodes directly on LCD screen and set CYCLOPS 2 up accordingly. It is not necessary to print Configuration Guide on paper as hard copy for scanning purpose.
Duplication of Configuration Data:
1. You can easily duplicate the Configuration data from one CYCLOPS 2 to the other unit. This will provide an easy and accurate way for multiple units CYCLOPS 2 operations.
RESET to Default System Value:
Please scan the DEFAULT setup barcode at the right. As the memory setup parameter cannot be deleted, please initialize the memory first then delete the data in the memory. When CYCLOPS 2 has been configured as
reverse barcode scanner, please scan the reversed DEFAULT” setup barcode at the right.
Memory Initialization:
Memory Initialization will delete all data and values in the memory. Please scan the barcode at the right side which can initialize the memory.
Please note: there is no way to restore the data
deleted after memory initialization.
Simple ways to start CYCLOPS II:
1. Power ON Press the SCAN button for 3-second to turn ON and Scan LED will light up as well. After power ON, scan LED will go off and CYCLOPS 2 is standing-by for scanning.
2. Configure the first unit CYCLOPS 2 through setup barcodes scanning.
3. Connect the first CYCLOPS 2 unit with host device through USB cable to transfer the Configuration data to host device (SYSTEM.CFG file).
4. Connect the other CYCLOPS 2 unit with host device through USB cable to download the configuration data from host device.
Long Term Storage of CYCLOPS 2:
Please store this device in dry environment. When the device is under Batch Mode and been kept OFF for an extended
period of time, Date & Time data might be RESET due to the battery power been drained.
Always charge CYCLOPS 2 before using and refer to the Configuration Guide
to set Date & Time properly.
How to Dispose CYCLOPS 2 Properly:
