Safety Instructions
WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF
Use indoors only. Do not use for any purpose other than described
in this user guide. Use only manufacturer’s recommended
accessories. Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, or has
been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, have it repaired at an authorized service center.
Do not move or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp corners. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners or similar cover­ings. Arrange cord away from tra c areas so it will not be tripped over.
Do not unplug by pulling cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep openings free of dust, lint, hair and anything that may reduce airfl ow.
Keep hair, loose clothing and fi ngers away from openings.
Turn OFF device controls before unplugging the appliance.
Do not use appliance in an enclosed space fi lled with vapors given o by oil-based paint, paint thinner, moth-proofi ng substances, fl ammable dust, or other explosive or toxic vapors.
Keep appliance on a level surface. Do not immerse the unit in water or other
liquids, do not pour liquids into or around the unit or openings.
Do not use the appliance near water or in a damp or wet location.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fi t in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fi t fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fi t, contact a qualifi ed electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
Do not use the appliance with any dimmer switch or solid state speed control device.

Do not plug in your air purifi er UNTIL you are familiar with all instructions and operating procedures.
To reduce the risk of electrical shock, turn power OFF and disconnect polarized plug from electrical outlet BEFORE performing maintenance or troubleshooting checks.

1 Control Dial
• Press the power button in the center of the dial to turn the air220 ON an d O FF.
• To adjust the fan speed, twist the dial clockwise.
• To reset the fi lter(s), press and hold the power button for 3 seconds.
2 Digital Display
Air Quality
The colored light under the digital display is a real-time indication of your indoor air quality. See page 6 for more details.
Fan Speed
The air220 has 5 di erent fan speeds ranging from low to high. It also has an auto mode ( Control Dial. For more details on Auto Mode, see page 6.
Night Mode
The air220 has an automated Night Mode. As less light enters a room, the lights on the Digital Display of the air220 will turn o to help create a peaceful sleeping environment.

When set to Auto Mode, the BISSELL® air220 uses its CirQulate® System to provide optimum fi ltration based on your home’s indoor air quality.
CirQulate uses the air220’s VOC sensor to detect the presence and level of VOC’s that may be in your home’s air.
Then, CirQulate’s colored light air quality feedback indicates the air quality level of your home in real­time, making your once invisible concerns visible.
NOTE: The air220’s VOC sensor requires 30 minutes to calibrate your home’s air quality af ter initially powering the air purifi er ON.

Maintenance & Care
Filter Replacement

Each fi lter has easy pull tabs. The tabs should face outward. Insert the activated carbon fi lter before inserting the pleated fi lter.
NOTE: Filter life varies based on run time and existing air conditions. It is recommended to replace both the pleated and activated carbon fi lter once every six months.
Filter Reset Indicator & Filter Reset
If your digital display is showing F1 and/or F2, this means that either one or both of your fi lters needs to be replaced.
F1 means that your High E ciency + Pre-Filter needs to be replaced. F2 means that your Carbon Filter
needs to be replaced. If both F1 and F2 are fl ashing, both fi lters need to be replaced.
After replacing your fi lter(s), press and hold down the power button for 3 seconds to reset the fi lter(s). Once reset, the air220 will beep and the
F1 and/or F2 will no longer show on the digital display.

Limited Three-Year Warranty
Subject to the *EXCEPTIONS AND EXCLUSIONS identified below, upon receipt of the product BISSELL will repair or replace (with new or remanufactured components or products), at BISSELL’s option, free of charge from the date of purchase by the original purchaser, for three years any defective or malfunctioning part.
See information below on “If your BISSELL product should require service”.
This warranty applies to product used for personal, and not commercial or rental service. This warranty does not apply to fans or routine maintenance components such as filters.
NOTE: Please keep your original sales receipt. It provides proof of date of purchase in the event of a
warranty claim.
