Please use the instructions provided with VB23-CV Floor Plates (C) and VB23 or VB235 Floor Sockets (D)
for new court installation
1. Each VB50 Standard (A) has a total of nine fixed VB1250K Net (F) height adjustments for each
Junior, Women's and Men's official height. Each
VB50 Standard (A) also has three fixed VB1250K Net (F) height adjustments for recreational tennis.
Use the pole alignment grooves when sliding the

outer pole up/down to locate each positive lock pin
hole. Use Positive Lock Pin (M) in the positive lock pin hole that positions VB1250K Net (F) in the
height you desire. See Figure 1.

2. Set VB50 Standards (A) into Floor Sockets (D).
Remove Positive Lock Pin (M) and raise outer pole
Net Hook (I)
of the VB50 Standard (A) to the series of holes representing men's, women's or junior's height. Use
the pole alignment grooves as a guide to locate
positive lock pin holes. See Figure 1.

3. Lay the VB1250K Net (F) out, find the end with the
factory installed rope ratchet device on the bottom
rope. Install the opposite end of the VB1250K Net (F) to the non-winch VB50 Standard (A) by
Figure 1
attaching the top loop of the VB1250K Net (F) onto
the Net Hook (I). Attach the other end of the VB1250K Net (F) to the cable attached to the Winch(H). See Figure 2.
4. Turn the Winch (H) handle tightening the top rope of the system to eliminate the slack in the rope. Center
the VB1250K Net (F) between the two VB50 Standards (A). Finish tightening the top rope using Winch (H) and pull the loose end of the bottom rope through the Rope Ratchet (L) to tighten the bottom rope.
See Figure 2.
5. Install the Rope Ratchet (L) kit by running the rope through the small holes in the sides of the VB1250K Net (F) and around the VB50 Standards (A) connecting them to the Rope Ratchet (L) device and then
tighten all four devices evenly to achieve desired VB1250K Net (F) tension and maintain proper
VB1250K Net (F) placement between the VB50 Standards (A). See Figure 2.
6. Measure the VB1250K Net (F) height in the center of the VB1250K Net (F) to the floor. If your VB50 Standards (A) are set to junior height it should measure 7' (84"). Set to women's height it should measure
7' 4-1/8" (88 1/8") and if your VB50 Standards (A) are set to men's height it should measure 7'-11
5/8" (95 5/8"). If your measurement is different please write it down and proceed to the next step. If your
measurement is correct than you are ready to play. See Figure 1.
Excessive tightening of top rope is not necessary. Crank the winch until poles start to flex. Further
tensioning results in lowering of the net. Achieve proper net height using the pole adjustment. To achieve
proper net tensioning use the rope ratchets.
7. If not at the correct height, compute how much higher or lower then loosen the VB1250K Net (F) on the
VB50 Standards (A) and proceed to step #8.
8. Adjust outer pole up/down in the series of positive lock pin holes as needed to achieve the correct
VB1250K Net (F) height. Repeat steps 1-7 as needed at this time to insure VB1250K Net (F) is the height
you desire. Fine tuned height modifications can be made by tightening or loosening Winch (H) and/or
adjusting the tension on the side Rope Ratchets (L). See Figure 2.
NOTE:

9. Once VB1250K Net (F) height has been achieved install Volleyball Antennas (G), Cable Covers (E) and VB51P-XX Pole Padding (B).
Height Adjustment for a Side by Side Court System with Both Nets at the same Height
NOTE:
Excessive tightening of top rope is not necessary. Crank the winch until poles start to flex. Further
tensioning results in lowering of the net. Achieve proper net height using the pole adjustment. To achieve
proper net tensioning use the rope ratchets.
1. Remove Tension from the VB1250K Nets (F). Remove Positive Lock Pins (M) and adjust outer poles to
desired Men's, Women's or Junior height. Reinsert Positive Lock Pins (M). See Figures 1 and 3.
2. Crank top rope on the VB1250K Nets (F) tight with the Winch (H), then pull bottom rope on the VB1250K Net (F) tight through the Rope Ratchet (L).
3. Attach Rope Ratchets (L) around VB50 Standard (A), hook ends together, center VB1250K Net (F)
between VB50 Standards (A) and apply desired tension. See Figures 2 and 3.

Height Adjustment for a Side by Side Court System with Nets at Different Heights
1. Remove tensions from the VB150K Nets (F)
2. Attach one Nylon Net Collar (J) to the center VB50 Standard (A) toward the top. See Figure 4.
3. Remove Positive Lock Pins (M) on all three VB50 Standards (A). Adjust the VB1250K Net (F) that will be the greater height and reinsert Positive Lock Pins (M) on these two VB50 Standards (A). See Figure 4.
4. Adjust the lower court VB50 Standard (A) to the desired height and reinsert Positive Lock Pin (M).
See Figures 1 and 4.
5. Adjust the Nylon Net Collars (J) on the center VB50 Standard (A) to the desired height and tighten. See Figures 1 and 4.
6. Attach one Nylon Net Collar (J) 2-3" below the bottom of VB1250K Net (F) height. Reattach and tension both bottom ropes.
7. Attach all Rope Ratchets (L) per previous instructions.
8. On multiple side by side court systems, the Winch (H) on the court adder poles should be placed above
the Nylon Net Collars (J) so Winch (H) strap will not interfere with bottom rope attachment.

Floor Socket Sleeves & Deep Socket Adapters
1. If you have purchased the Bison VB50 3” Standards (A), for use in existing sockets that are not 3” diameter
call Bison Customer Service department at 1-800-247-7668 for custom floor socket sleeves available at no
additional cost.
2. You will need to provide the inside diameter of the floor socket and the depth of the socket from the playing
surface to the bottom.
3. If the adapter sleeves fit loosely in the floor sockets they can be shimmed with thin metal strips or layers of
duct tape can be wrapped around the outside of the sleeve at the top and the bottom until sleeve is snug
inside the existing floor sockets.
4 If your pre-existing floor sockets are more than 12” deep from the finished floor to the bottom of the
socket, call the Bison customer service department at 1-800-247-7668 for information on deep socket
adapter kits available at no additional cost.
