1. Foreword
Dear user,
You have selected a high-quality product from Bischoff & Bischoff. Thank you for your trust in our products.
The mattress pad with micropores is used on the existing hospital mattress and does not replace it.
The continuous controlled exchange of air provided by the micropores creates a favourable microclimate in the area between the pad and the patient. Both mattress pads are designed for use with one patient.
The products are not suitable for reuse. Bischoff & Bischoff GmbH cannot accept liability for use other than the intended use.
Please read and follow the instruction manual carefully before using your new alternating pressure system for the first time. The manual is an integral and important component of the system. Keep it where you can refer to it.
Repairs and adjustments require specialised technical training and must be carried out by Bischoff & Bischoff authorised dealers only.

2. Important safety instructions
2.1 General safety instructions
Before using the alternating pressure system check that the pad is correctly fastened in position and all parts are correctly connected. Note that the position of the patient must still be changed when using alternating pressure systems.
When using the alternating pressure system in adjustable hospital beds make sure that the air hoses are not jammed. Do not use open flames and heat (cigarettes) near the system.
Do not place flammable materials near the system. Keep sharp and pointed objects away from the mattress. The alternating pressure system is designed for persons with a body weight of 40 to max. 100 kg. For safety reasons the distance between the top edge of the closed bed rail and the top edge of the pad must be at least 22 cm when the alternating pressure system is in use. See the specifications for the height of the mattress pad when inflated in Technical Data and the maximum permitted thickness of the mattress pad specified by the bed manufacturer.
When operating several electrical devices there is a possibility of unwanted interference (EMC radiation etc.).
