inch Ciao Bella Writing Desk. Crafted of Poplar and Hardwood Solids with
Pine veneers, the simple and understated silhouette has a natural finish
with distressing including hand-chiseling, to give the appearance of a
treasured piece that is aged through the generations. The metal base adds
an industrial flavor.
Collection Features: Inspired by the small farmhouses that dot the French
and Italian countryside and have been in the hands of the same family for
generations, Hooker Furniture introduces the rustic Ciao Bella Collection.
The whole home collection is an eclectic mix of European farmhouse
pieces that have the appearance of furniture that has been refinished
multiple times as it has passed through the generations. Ciao Bella
includes bedroom, dining room, occasional, home office and accent
furniture, and features a finish called Timeworn Gray that accentuates the
historical nature of European farmhouses – many of which include a
variety of furniture styles that have been added by each generation of
owners.

Finish Construction: Hooker Furniture utilizes a multiple-step finish
process of up to 16 finish steps. This results in an unsurpassed clarity,
depth and color richness and durability to our finishes. Through handcraftsmanship such as rubbing and padding, our finishes feel as good as
they look, with a smoothness that is delightful to the touch.
Frame Construction: Hooker Furniture uses carefully chosen solid wood
and select wood veneers over durable wood products in our furniture
construction. Use of veneers enables more decorative looks unattainable
with solid wood. Veneers are used over durable wood products such as
medium density fiberboard (MDF) and particle board, made of renewable
resources. MDF and particle board are used in quality furniture for areas
that need to be stable, such as large surfaces. These durable wood
products do not expand and contract with heat and cold and do not absorb
moisture as much as solid wood, which results in stronger and longerlasting furniture.
