1. Getting started
IMPORTANT
Do not place your C100xLX in the bathroom or other humid locations.
Location
You will need to place your C100xLX base within 4.9 feet of the electrical outlet and telephone wall outlet so that the cables will reach. The socketoutlet should be installed near the equipment and should be easily accessible.
Make sure that it is at least 3 feet away from other electrical appliances to avoid interference. Your C100xLX works by sending radio signals between the handset and base. The strength of the signal depends on where the base is placed. Placing the base at a higher location ensures a better signal.
HANDSET RANGE
The unit has a range of up to 650 feet outdoors when there is a clear line of sight between the base and handset. Any obstruction between the base and handset will reduce the range signicantly. With the base indoors and the handset either indoors or outdoors, the range will normally be up to 98 feet. Thick concrete and stone walls can severely aect the range.

BATTERY PERFORMANCE
In ideal conditions, a fully charged battery should give up to 10 hours of talk time or up to 200 hours standby time on a single charge.
Note that a new battery does not reach it’s full capacity until it has been put to normal use for several days.
To keep your battery down at least one time per week will help prolong battery life.
Running the battery right down at least once a week will help them last as long as possible.
The charge capacity of the rechargeable battery will reduce with time as it wears out, giving the handset less talk / standby time. Eventually it will need to be replaced.
After charging your handset for the rst time, subsequent charging time is about 6–8 hours a day. The battery and handset may become warm during charging. This is normal.
