Icarus 1210 System

OFFHOOK light

This comes on when Line is off HOOK

Off when on HOOK

PHONE button

Press to begin or answer a telephone call.

Press to hang up at the end of a call.

PLAY / MSG button

Direct Message Play

VOLUME button

Press during a call to adjust the volume.

INT ( ) button

Press and Hold over 2 second for Intercom Call.

PROG / LNR button

When on hook, press to start programming.

When off hook, press for Last Number Redial

Press this to make the handset ring, to help you find it if you’ve forgotten where you put it.

What’s the TONE mean ?

Confirmation Tone : ( =__== ) two short

beeps

Error Tone : (======) One long beep

Low battery Tone : (==) single beep with

long pause (1 mins)

Out of range Tone : (==) single beep with long pause (12 seconds)

1 Installation

You need one battery pack (NiMH, 3.6v, 300mAh) for each handset.

To fit the batteries

1 Open the battery

compartment cover.

2 Insert the plug in the

connector, as shown.

Tuck the wires in and lay the

battery pack in the compartment

3 Fit the battery compartment

cover, sliding it into place and pressing firmly to make sure it is secure

Leave the handset on the charging cradle for 15 Hours

Warnings

Dispose of used batteries safely never try to burn them

or put them anywhere they could get burnt or punctured.

When you are not going to use your Icarus 1210 for a few

weeks, take the batteries out so they do not leak corrosive substances.

Do not leave dead batteries in your handset they might

leak if you do.

Dials out the stored number. [No confirmation tone.] An Error Tone is heard if the memory is empty.

To delete a stored number

4 Program operation

Remove Base power

Press and hold the Page key.

Reconnect the Base power.

Wait until you hear 4 double beeps.

Release the Page key.

After a short time you will hear a confirmation tone.

Now, all the registrations are removed from your base

First de-register all handsets

Obtain all handsets for the operation

Start register handset from handset number 1 with the following setps:

Press and hold the Base Page key for 4 seconds until it gives a double beep. The base will then be in registration mode for 20 seconds.

When the battery level is low during a call, you will hear the low battery tone in the earpiece every minute.

Out of range

When the handset goes out of range of the base unit, you will hear the Out of Range Tone in the earpiece every 12 seconds. You must return in range of the base soon otherwise the call will be dropped.

Melody is on

Press the button to increase the volume up to volume level 5

Press the # button to decrease the volume down to level 1 or to turn the base ringer off (level 0)

Press P/LNR button to confirm

A confirmation can be heard

Press the P/LNR button then key in digits 2 1 2

Press button 1~5 to select melody

Press P/LNR to confirm

A confirmation tone can be heard

Reset the System

Call Transfer ( /INT button function)

HS on hook stage

Press key P/LNR

Offhook indication LED is blinking slowly

Wait until you hear the confirmation tone from HS and BU

Both HS and BU are set in default setting

Off hook stage

Press and hold /INT to transfer a call.

You will hear internal dial tone in the earpiece and the caller will be on hold.

Press Handset number for the call transfer

Hear internal ring back tone

Once Connected with second handset

Press PHONE key to transfer and hang up OR - press and hold INT key to reconnect to the caller

6 Using the answering machine

Directly playback Message

To record your own OGM:

Press PLAY/MSG key while handset is in standby mode

The speaker is On

You will hear the message if message or ICM is not empty

Press 0 to stop

Confirmation Tone or Error Tone

And go back into standby mode.

Press P (program key)

On-line LED blinks slowly

Press Key 1

Hold handset to ear and wait for confirmation tone.

Record your OGM, speaking clearly into the microphone

When the message is finished, press Key 0 to stop the recording

Returns to standby mode.

To playback your OGM

Press P (program key)

The OGM plays back

Wait for the message to end, or press Key 0 to stop the playback

To intercept a call

The caller is recording a message after the OGM and 'beep '

To speak to the caller, press PHONE or SPEAKER PHONE

The answering machine will stop the recording but keep the message up to the intercept.

To record a memo

Press P

Then 3 to record your memo.

Press 0 to stop recording and go back to standby mode

Message playback

Press the PLAY MSG key to start playback immediately through the loudspeaker.

(Or press P key then 8 to start play back)

Any messages will be played

Press key 0 to stop play back

Returns to standby mode

While playing messages

Press 7 to go back to previous message

Press 9 to skip to the next message

Press 8 to play the current message AGAIN

Press 4 to delete the playing message (NOT all)

Press 0 to stop playing and return to standby mode

All operation will have Confirmation Tone or Error Tone

Setting the number of rings

Press P key

Wait for confirmation beep

Key in the number of rings (2~9, or 0 for Toll Saver)

Press P key to confirm

Incoming message length

The machine has a total recording time of 4 to 6 minutes. The maximum incoming message length is 60 seconds each.

Setting the remote security code

Press P key

Wait for confirmation beep

Key in the security code by pressing 0~9 (up to 3 digits)

Press P key to confirm

Returns to standby mode.

Delete all messages

Press P then 8 3 6 7

Remote Operation

Call up your answering machine. (You will need to be phoneing from a Tone Dialling phone, or have a Tone Dialler Pad.)

While the OGM is playing, press # to stop play the OGM

Any recorded messages will start playing back

[9] skip forward to next message [8] play the current message again [4] del the message currently being played back [0] stop playback

after the new message have been played, the keys will be used as below,

[6] switch the answering machine off

Memory Full

If the machine's memory is full, the answering machine will answer after 12 rings and send a beep.

The line will release after about 10 seconds, unless you enter your security code to enter remote operation.

To clear some memory, delete unwanted messages by pressing 4 as the messages play.

To switch the answering machine on remotely

Call up your answering machine. (You will need to be phoneing from a Tone Dialling phone, or have a Tone Dialler Pad.)

The answering machine will answer after 12 rings and send three beep.

Enter your security code.

The call is cut off immediately, but the answering machine will be turned on.

7 Guarantee and service

The Binatone Icarus 1210 is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of purchase shown on your sales receipt. The Guarantee does not cover damage by misuse or negligence, or by excessive voltages for example, faults on the telephone line, or lightning.

Please keep your sales (till) receipt this is your guarantee. You should also keep the original packaging material.

In the unlikely event that you need to return your Icarus 1210 to our Repair Centre while it is under guarantee, there will be a 5 handling charge.

While the unit is under Guarantee

Disconnect the base unit from the telephone line and the mains

electricity supply

Pack up all parts of your Icarus 1210, using the original packaging.

Remember to include the mains Adapter

Return the unit to the shop where you bought it, making sure you take

your sales receipt

After the Guarantee has expired

If the unit is no longer under Guarantee, first follow steps 1 and 2 as for repair under Guarantee. Then . . .

Call our Service Department on 0845 345 9677 and ask for a quotation

of the repair charge and details of where to send your Icarus 1210 for repair

Make sure you include with your Icarus 1210:

your name and address

a cheque or postal order for the value of the repair charge

Return your Icarus 1210 to the address given by the Service Department
