BEFORE USE
Check if the blades are well oiled but there is no excess oil on their surfaces.
Use an appliance only on clean and dry hair.Seat the person you are going to give a hair
cut to, in a position that you can have a good look on the crown of his (her) head. Cover his
Before starting to cut make sure that the hair is well combed.
Remember the direction in which the hair grows and the shape of the back of the head so you may take that into account while cutting the hair.
To make the haircut uniform and even, move the clipper slowly
through without forcing it.
When making your first haircut it is better leave the hair longer,
until you become familiar with each of the attachment combs. Always begin with the attachment comb with the biggest number: you can always make the hair shorter afterwards.
(her) neck and shoulders with a towel.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Remove the blade guard (3) from the appliance.
2. Connect the appropriate attachment comb. Each attachment comb is clearly marked on their outer surface: Attachment comb No. 1 – hair length left: 3 mm
Attachment comb No. 3 – hair length left: 9 mm Attachment comb No. 4 – hair length left: 12 mm To connect the attachment comb, hold with its teeth upward, and slide it along the clipper’s cutting surface until its forepart sits on the clipper’s blade (see Figure 1). Then press on the comb until it clicks. To remove the attachment comb, repeat the steps above in reverse order (Figure 2).
3. To make the haircut uniform and even, move the clipper slowly
and comb the hair frequently with the barber comb (12) to remove the cut hairs and to check for uneven locks.
4. Hold the clipper so that the cutting edge points upwards; begin
cutting hair at the center part of the neck base (see Figure
3b).
5. When finished clipping, turn the clipper off by pressing the 0/
I switch (5) and unplug from the electrical outlet.
6. On how to make a haircut see section “Useful tips”.
Attachment comb No. 2 – hair length left: 6 mm
Adjustable taper control (4)
The control (4) is located under your thumb if you are holding
the clipper in your right hand.
The lever adds versatility to your clipper by allowing you to
gradually change the closeness of your cut without changing an attachment comb. When the lever is in the uppermost position, the blades will give you the closest cut and leave the hair
8
very short. Pushing the lever downward gradually increases the cutting length. In its lowest position, the lever will leave the hair as if you were using the No. 1 attachment comb (see Figure C).
The lever will also extend the use of your blades since a differ-
ent cutting edge is used in each setting.
In addition, if the blades have jammed with hair, this function
will help you remove hair that has become wedged, without removing the blades. While the clipper is running, rapidly move the lever from upper to lower position a couple of times. Doing this each time after you have finished using your clipper will help to keep the blades clear of cut hair. If your clipper stops cutting and this does not help, your cutting blades are dulled. Replace them with new blades.
Note: your clipper was checked to ensure that the blades
were oiled and aligned before leaving our factory. Blades must be realigned if they have been removed for cleaning or replacement. To realign them unplug the clipper cord from the wall socket, loosen screws (7) slightly, then match the upper and bottom blades teeth up, point for point. The end of the top blade teeth should be approximately 1.2 mm back from bottom blade, tighten screws after blade is aligned. Apply a few drops of oil to the blades and turn clipper on for a few moments.
CLEANING AND CARE
ENGLISH
Cleaning and storing
1. When finished clipping, turn the clipper off and unplug from the electrical outlet.
2. Remove the attachment comb (if you were using it) and clean it with the brush (15).
4. It is recommended to clean the blades (2) with the brush (15)
after every use. To do that set the adjustable taper control lever (4) to the lowest position to fully expose the blades.
5. Before putting the clipper away for storage, put on the blade
guard (3).
3. Wipe the housing with a clean, dry cloth.
Oiling
1. To maintain your clipper in peak condition, the blades should
be oiled before every haircut with the lubricant oil (13) included in this package.
2. Before oiling unplug the clipper from electrical outlet and re-
move any hairs from the clipper’s teeth with the brush (15).
3. Apply a few drops of oil to the blades, turn clipper on for a few moments, to let the oil spread along the blades.
4. Turn the clipper off and unplug. Wipe off excess oil with a
9
clean, dry cloth.
USEFUL TIPS
Short haircut (Figure 3)
To make a short haircut you will need the attachment combs No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 (leaving the hair 3, 6, 9 and 12 mm long). Do not forget to change the combs when switching to different parts of the
Comb the hair thoroughly before starting to cut.Begin cutting from the back of the head. First cut the hair at the
back of the head using the attachment comb No. 4 just to shorten the hair a little. When cutting, hold the clipper firmly in your hand. Cut the hair with short upward strokes (opposite to the direction in which the hairs grow), tilting the blades (2) up a little as shown on Figure 3b. After all the hair at the back of the head is cut uniformly with attachment comb No. 4 (hair length 12 mm), change it to the comb with next lower number (see Figure 3a). Cut the hair at the back of the head once more. Pause several times and comb the hair to see the result.
Cut the hair at the sides and at the top of the head in the same
manner. At the top of the head move the clipper from forehead to the top, opposite to the direction in which the hairs grow (see Figure 3c). Trim the hair at the top so that it is even with the sides. Comb the hair to see the result.
To trim the whiskers and shape the hair at the back of the head
remove the attachment comb and set the adjustable taper control lever (4) to the uppermost position (very short hair). Trim the hair at the edges holding the clipper upturned and at a right angle to the skin, moving downwards, just touching the hair (Figure 3d).
To cut the hair around the ears also use the clipper without the
attachment combs. Comb the hair around the ears thoroughly. Set the upturned clipper between the whisker’s and the ear and check that the blade is at an angle to the hairline. Using only the clipper tip follow slowly the shape needed (Figures 3e and 3f). Hold the clipper at a right angle to the skin to avoid injuries.
head (Figure 3a).
Medium haircut (Figure 4)
To make a medium haircut you will need the attachment combs No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 (leaving hair of 3, 6, 9 and 12 mm long). Do not forget to change the combs when switching to different parts of the head (Figure 4a). Doing this hairstyle you will get a flat surface at the top of the head. The most important thing in making a good haircut is to dry the
hair in the right manner. Dry the hair with a hairdryer blow
drying it in an opposite direction to which the hairs grow to
give body and style (Figure 4b). Begin cutting from the sides and the back of the head using
attachment combs shown in Figure 4a (for cutting technique
10
see section “Short haircut”). To get a flat surface at the top of the head use the barber
comb (12) or your fingers (Figure 4c). Remove the attach-
ment comb from the clipper. Using the barber comb (or your
fingers), lift a small lock of hair vertically and, moving the comb
(12) or the fingers along the lock choose the hair length needed.
Do the next lock the same length and then keep going in the
same manner from the top to the forehead. Comb the hair at
regular intervals to remove cut hairs and to check the result.
To get the ideal transition zone (the bold line in the Figure
4a) between the top and the sides of the head, tilt the comb
slightly and cut off the prominent hairs (pic. 4d).
Trim the whiskers and the hairline as described in the section
“Short haircut”.
Long haircut
In this hairstyle the hair is cut only at the back and the sides of
the head, thus the hair at the front side of the head is left long.
Use attachment combs for hair length from 3 to 12 mm de-
pending on the hair length needed. Cut the hair at the back and the sides of the head as described
in the section “Short haircut”. Use attachment combs for hair
length from 3 to 12 mm depending on the hair length needed.
Cut the hair only to the bold line as shown in the Figure 4a. From this level (to an area a couple of centimeters above the
ear) use the flat comb to get the perfectly accurate transition
zone. Tilt the comb to the head a little and cut prominent hairs
with the clipper without the attachment comb using the comb
as a guide (Figure 4d).
Do not cut the hair at the top of the head.Trim the whiskers and the hairline as described in the section
“Short haircut”. Comb the hair to the desired style.
ENGLISH
Keeping the haircut in order
To keep the haircut in order from time to time just trim the hairline at the top of the head, around the ears and the whiskers as in the section “Short haircut”. The attachment combs are not used.
Beard trimming
Start the beard trimming using the attachment comb No. 4
from below the chin. Move the clipper symmetrically from side
to side (Figure 5). Cut the hairs protruding through the beard using the upturned
clipper without attachment comb, using short careful moves.
