QUICK START GUIDE
Before using the device, please make sure there is no or minimal background noise, as TV, radio, air conditioning system, traffic sound, etc.
When your baby is crying, slide the power switch (11) to the ON position.
Place Cry Translator at about one foot (30 cm) from your baby, making sure that its microphone is directed towards her mouth, and press the “Start” button.
The icon indicating the reason why your baby is crying will light up within 5 seconds.
It is not unusual for babies to cry for more than one reason, particularly when they have been crying for a while.
E.g.: The baby starts crying because she is hungry, but a delay in feeding her on time makes the baby upset and induces in her a feeling of discomfort or discontent. Thus, the baby will add to her hunger cry-type the discomfort cry-type.
In this case, Cry Translator will show alternatively both reasons: hunger and discomfort.
For further information in this regard, please check the answer to the question “What happens when the baby cries for more than one reason?” in the first part of the “How to Calm Your Baby” booklet provided together with this device.
