Thank you for your trust and for choosing Xelento wireless
In-Ear Headphones. To ensure an optimum listening
experience, we would like to give you a brief primer on how
to use Xelento.

Safety instructions

Caution:

damage, do not use your in-ear headphones for extended
periods of time at high volume. The ability to hear your
own voice while listening and speaking normally with
in-ear headphones can serve as a measure of correct
volume adjustment.
We would like to point out that excessively high volumes and
long listening times may cause hearing damage. Hearing
defects always constitute an irreversible impairment of
hearing ability.
Always ensure an adequate volume level. It is advisable to
keep listening times as short as possible at high volume
levels. According to the Occupational Health and Safety
Regulations of German trade associations BGV B3, noise
pollution e.g. in the workplace must not exceed 85 dB
(room volume level) during a maximum permissible
listening time of 8 hours. If the volume level is increased
by 3 dB respectively, the permissible listening time is cut
in half, i.e. at 88 dB, the listening time is 4 hours, at
91 dB 2 hours, etc.

When you connect the in-ear headphones, please
make sure that the volume level is set to
minimum. Adjust the volume level only after
inserting the eartips. To avoid possible hearing

Danger to life!

In-ear headphones drastically reduce perception of
external sounds. Using in-ear headphones in road traffic
can be potentially dangerous. The user's hearing must not
be impaired to the extent that it causes road safety risks.
Please also make sure that you do not use the in-ear
headphones within the action area of potentially dangerous
machines and tools.

Risk of injury!

Avoid strong movements when using wired in-ear head­phones. You might seriously hurt yourself especially if you
wear piercings, earrings, glasses, etc., where the wire can
get caught.

Changed acoustic perception

For many people, wearing in-ear headphones needs getting
used to, because acoustic perception of their own voice
and of the body as well as inner ear sounds which occur
while walking differ from the "normal" situation without in­ear headphones. However, this initially strange sensation
usually diminishes after wearing them for a while.

Connection and cable replacement

To detach or fasten the cable, hold Xelento wireless by the
earphone housing and by the plug connector. Do not pull
the cable directly; you might damage the cable or the
earphones!
The right-hand side is marked by a raised dot on the
earphone housing and on the cable end.

Selecting the right eartips

The Xelento package includes several eartips. Select the
eartips which suit you best to ensure a comfortable and
secure fit, good ambient noise attenuation and optimum
sound.

Since no two ears are alike, seven pairs of silicone eartips
are provided in the following sizes to allow optimum
adaptation to your ear.

Inserting and wearing Xelento
wireless

Due to the shape of the earphone
housing, it is necessary to guide the
cable behind the ear cup when
inserting Xelento wireless, see
adjacent drawing. Please make sure
that the cable is conducted upward.
Only in this way is it possible to
wear the earphones correctly and
comfortably.

Turning on / off

The functions listed below refer to the use with the Blue­tooth connecting cable.

which is installed on this Bluetooth connecting cable.

Pairing with the player

Before you use the Xelento wireless for the first time, you
have to pair it with your mobile phone or another Bluetooth
enabled device. The pairing process may be different with
various players. Please refer to the appropriate manual of
the player.

available. The Xelento wireless only transmits control
signals that comply with the Bluetooth standard.

• Pull the aluminium cap  of
the battery pack in the
direction of the cable to access
the USB connector .

• Connect the Xelento wireless to
any USB-compliant, voltage­carrying USB connector (such
as a USB power supply) by
using the supplied USB
charging cable.

• During charging the LED  of
the remote control slowly
flashes red. As soon as the
LED  is permanently red, the
battery is fully charged.

• After charging, remove the USB
charging cable and cover the
USB connector  with the
aluminium cap.

Für ein bestmögliches Hörerlebnis möchten wir Ihnen eine
kurze Einführung geben, wie Sie den Xelento wireless
verwenden können.

Sicherheitshinweise

Vorsicht:

Vermeidung eines möglichen Gehörschadens sollten Sie
Ihren In-Ear-Kopfhörer nicht für längere Zeit bei hoher
Lautstärke benutzen. Als Maß für die Einstellung der Laut­stärke dient die Prüfung, ob Sie beim Hören und gewöhn­lichem Sprechen mit In-Ear-Kopfhörer noch Ihre eigene
Stimme wahrnehmen können.
Wir möchten Sie darauf hinweisen, dass zu hohe
Lautstärken und zu lange Hörzeiten das Gehör schädigen
können. Hörschäden stellen immer eine irreversible
Beeinträchtigung des Hörvermögens dar.
Achten Sie stets auf eine angemessene Lautstärke. Als
Faustformel gilt: je höher die Lautstärke, desto kürzer die
Hörzeit. Gemäß der Berufsgenossenschaftlichen Vorschrift
für Sicherheit und Gesundheit bei der Arbeit BGV B3 darf
die Lärmbelastung z.B. am Arbeitsplatz 85 dB (Zimmer­lautstärke) nicht überschreiten bei einer maximal
zulässigen Hörzeit von 8 Stunden. Wird die Lautstärke
jeweils um 3 dB erhöht, halbiert sich die zulässige Hörzeit,

Zum Trennen oder Befestigen des Kabels halten Sie den
Xelento wireless am Ohrhörergehäuse und am Stecker fest.
Ziehen Sie niemals direkt am Kabel, Sie könnten das

erreichen.

Da jedes Ohr anders ist, bieten Ihnen sieben Paar Silikon­Ohrpassstücke in folgenden Größen die Möglichkeit der
optimalen Anpassung an Ihr Ohr.

Xelento wireless einsetzen und
tragen

Aufgrund der Form des Ohrhörer­gehäuses müssen Sie bei dem
Einsetzen des Xelento wireless das
Kabel hinter der Ohrmuschel
führen, siehe nebenstehende
Zeichnung. Bitte achten Sie
darauf, dass das Kabel nach oben
abgeführt wird. Nur in dieser
Weise lässt sich der Ohrhörer
korrekt und bequem tragen.
Das rechte Ohrhörergehäuse und
Kabelende verfügen jeweils über
einen kleinen erhabenen Punkt zur
Kennzeichnung der rechten Seite.

Ein- und Ausschalten

Die nachfolgend aufgeführten Funktion beziehen sich auf
die Verwendung mit dem Bluetooth-Anschlusskabel.

• Einschalten
Multifunktionstaste  für 2 Sekunden drücken.

• Ausschalten
Multifunktionstaste  für 6 Sekunden drücken.

Hinweis Firmware Version 1.0

Die folgenden Angaben beziehen sich auf die auf dem vor­liegenden Bluetooth-Anschlusskabel installierte Firmware
Version 1.0.

Verbinden mit dem Abspielgerät

Bevor Sie den Xelento wireless erstmalig verwenden
können, müssen Sie es mit Ihrem Mobiltelefon oder einem
anderen Bluetooth-fähigen Gerät verbinden. Das Verbin­dungsverfahren kann sich zwischen den verschiedenen Ab­spielgeräten unterscheiden. Bitte beachten Sie die
entsprechende Bedienungsanleitung des Abspielgerätes.

• Drücken Sie beim ausgeschalteten Xelento wireless
6 Sekunden lang die Multifunktionstaste , um den
Bluetooth-Verbindungsmodus zu starten (LED  der
Fernbedienung blinkt langsam abwechselnd blau und
rot).

• Aktivieren Sie Bluetooth bei Ihrem Abspielgerät und
lassen Sie ggf. nach neuen Geräten suchen.

• Wählen Sie im Bluetooth-Menü des Abspielgerätes
unter den verfügbaren Geräten „beyerdynamic Xelento
wireless“ aus und verbinden beide Geräte. Bei jedem
weiteren Einschalten verbinden sich beide Geräte
automatisch.

Alternativ können Sie den Xelento wireless über NFC mit
einem NFC-fähigen Abspielgerät verbinden. Es spielt dabei
keine Rolle, ob der Xelento wireless ein- oder ausgeschaltet
ist. Sollte der Xelento wireless ausgeschaltet sein, wird er
durch die Datenübertragung automatisch eingeschaltet.

• Aktivieren Sie in Ihrem Abspielgerät die NFC-Funktion,
damit alle notwendigen Informationen auf das Abspiel­gerät übertragen und so eine Verbindung hergestellt
werden kann.

• Halten Sie das Abspielgerät dicht über die Rückseite
der Fernbedienung des Xelento wireless.

• Die beiden Geräte werden nun automatisch gekoppelt.

Beachten Sie bitte, dass die nachfolgend beschriebenen
Funktionen vom jeweiligen verwendeten Abspielgerät und
der Player-Software abhängen und eventuell nicht zur
Verfügung stehen. Der Xelento wireless sendet lediglich
Steuersignale, die mit dem Bluetooth-Standard konform
sind.

 

Aufladen

• Ziehen Sie mit einer leichten
Drehung die Aluminium­kappe  des Akkupacks in
Kabelrichtung ab, um die USB­Buchse  freizulegen.

• Schließen Sie den Xelento
wireless mit dem beiliegenden
USB-Ladekabel an einen
beliebigen USB-konformen
spannungsführenden USB­ Anschluss (z.B. USB-Netzteil)
an.

• Während des Ladens blinkt die
LED  der Fernbedienung
langsam rot. Sobald die LED 
dauerhaft rot leuchtet, ist der
Akku vollständig geladen.

• Entfernen Sie nach dem Lade­vorgang das USB-Ladekabel
und verschließen Sie die USB­Buchse  wieder mit der
Aluminiumkappe.
