Thank you for selecting the T 51 p headphone from beyerdynamic. Please take some
time to read carefully through this manual before using the product.
The T 51 p opens up new sound dimensions with its excellent bass and treble
reproduction and superior materials.
The new Tesla technology developed by beyerdynamic is now also used in headphones
for mobile applications. Whether on your way to work, college or travelling by train or
aircraft, the supraaural T 51 p shields ambient noise with its closed design.
The efficient Tesla drivers provide extraordinarily precise and detailed sound.
With their slimline shape marked by simplicity and elegance, the smooth lightness
of the T 51 p is also a winner for its appearance. There is no longer anything
standing in the way of ultimate music enjoyment on portable devices, wherever you
may be.
Safety instructions
Caution:
We would like to point out that listening at high volumes over a long period of time
may damage your hearing irreversibly.
Therefore, reduce the volume before putting into operation. Make sure that the set
volume is not too high. Rule of thumb: The higher the volume, the shorter the time
of listening. According to employer’s regulations for safety and health the noise
exposure e.g. when working should not exceed 85 dB (low volume). This is an
allowed time of listening of 8 hours at maximum. If the volume is increased by 3 dB,
the allowed time of listening is halved, i.e. with 88 dB the time of listening is
4 hours, with 91 dB 2 hours and so on.
Danger to life!
Headphones dramatically reduce your ability to hear ambient noise. Using headphones
while in road traffic is potentially very dangerous and is therefore prohibited by law.
Also, please make sure that you do not use your headphones when in the vicinity of
possibly dangerous machines and tools.
Risk of injury!
When wearing wired headphones, avoid any sudden movements. You could seriously
injure yourself, especially if you have any piercings or wear earrings or glasses, etc.

How to adjust the headband
Before wearing the T 51 p for the first time you should adjust it properly to achieve
the best sound and ambient noise attenuation.
Please refer to the following tips:
• Select the appropriate lock-in position on both sides of the headband. See 햲.
• Adjust the angle of the ear pads. See 햳 and 햴.
• Place the T 51 p centrally on your ears as shown in the middle picture.

Connection
The connection cable of the headphone is provided with a stereo mini jack plug (3.5 mm).
• Connect the T 51 p via the mini jack plug directly to your mobile phone, tablet PC
or MP3 player.

Cleaning and changing of ear pads
Clean the ear pads of your beyerdynamic headphones by using a damp cloth. For
cleaning use pure water (no cleaning fluids or detergents) only taking care not to
allow any water drops into the transducers.
You may need to change the ear pads from time to time as a result of normal wear
and tear. This is easy to do yourself.
In the event that other components need to be replaced, please contact your local
beyerdynamic representative.

Bedienungsanleitung vor Inbetriebnahme aufmerksam durch.
Mit seiner exzellenten Bass- und Höhenwiedergabe sowie hochwertig verarbeiteten
Materialien eröffnet der T 51 p neue Klangwelten.
Die von beyerdynamic neu entwickelte Tesla-Technologie findet ihre Anwendung nun
auch in Kopfhörern für den mobilen Gebrauch. Ob auf dem Weg zur Arbeit, zur Uni
oder auf Reisen im Zug oder Flugzeug, der ohraufliegende T 51 p schirmt mit seiner
geschlossenen Bauform Außengeräusche optimal ab.
Die effizienten Tesla-Wandler stehen für ungemein präzisen und detailreichen Klang.
Durch seine reduzierte Gesamtform geprägt von Schlichtheit und Eleganz überzeugt
der T 51 p auch optisch. Dem Musikgenuss über portable Geräte steht, wo immer
man sich befindet, nichts mehr im Wege.
Sicherheitshinweise
Vorsicht:
Wir möchten Sie darauf hinweisen, dass zu hohe Lautstärken und zu lange Hörzeiten das Gehör schädigen können. Hörschäden stellen immer eine irreversible
Beeinträchtigung des Hörvermögens dar.
Drehen Sie daher bitte die Lautstärke vor Inbetriebnahme zurück. Achten Sie stets
auf eine angemessene Lautstärke. Als Faustformel gilt: je höher die Lautstärke, desto
kürzer die Hörzeit. Gemäß der Berufsgenossenschaftlichen Vorschrift für Sicherheit
und Gesundheit bei der Arbeit BGV B3 darf die Lärmbelastung z.B. am Arbeitsplatz
85 dB (Zimmerlautstärke) nicht überschreiten. Dies entspricht einer maximal
zulässigen Hörzeit von 8 Stunden. Wird die Lautstärke jeweils um 3 dB erhöht,
halbiert sich die zulässige Hörzeit, d.h. bei 88 dB beträgt die Hörzeit 4 Stunden, bei
91 dB 2 Stunden usw.
Lebensgefahr!
Kopfhörer reduzieren die akustische Außenwahrnehmung drastisch. Die Verwendung
von Kopfhörern im Straßenverkehr birgt großes Gefährdungspotenzial und ist daher
gesetzlich untersagt. Bitte achten Sie außerdem darauf, dass Sie die Kopfhörer nicht
im Aktionsbereich von möglicherweise gefährlichen Maschinen und Arbeitsgeräten
verwenden.
Verletzungsgefahr!
Bei kabelgebundenen Kopfhörern sollten Sie heftige Bewegungen vermeiden. Sie
könnten sich ernsthaft verletzen, insbesondere, wenn Sie Piercings, Ohrringe, Brille
usw. tragen, an denen das Kabel sich verfangen kann.

Einstellen des Kopfbügels
Vor dem ersten Tragen sollten Sie die Passform des T 51 p optimal einstellen, um die
beste Klangwiedergabe und Abschirmung von Außengeräuschen zu erzielen.
Bitte beachten Sie folgende Hinweise:
• Wählen Sie an beiden Seiten des Kopfbügels die passende Raststufe. Siehe 햲.
• Stellen Sie den Winkel der Ohrpolster ein. Siehe 햳 und 햴.
• Setzen Sie den T 51 p mittig und gut abdichtend auf die Ohrmuscheln, so wie im
mittleren Bild dargestellt.

Anschluss
Das Anschlusskabel des Kopfhörers verfügt über einen 3,5 mm Stereoklinkenstecker.
• Schließen Sie den T 51 p über den 3,5 mm Klinkenstecker direkt an Ihr Mobiltelefon, Tablet-PC oder MP3-Player an.

Pflege und Austausch der Ohrpolster
Reinigen Sie die Ohrpolster Ihres beyerdynamic Kopfhörers mit einem weichen,
feuchten Tuch. Verwenden Sie dazu reines Wasser, keine Reinigungsmittel. Achten
Sie darauf, dass kein Wasser in die Schallwandler gelangt.
Da Ohrpolster einem natürlichen Verschleiß unterliegen, wird es von Zeit zu Zeit notwendig, sie auszutauschen. Dies können Sie leicht selbst machen:
Müssen weitere Komponenten ersetzt werden, wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihre zuständige beyerdynamic-Vertretung.

Öffnen Sie den Kopfhörer auf keinen Fall selbst, Sie könnten sonst alle Gewährleistungsansprüche verlieren.
• Ziehen Sie das alte Ohrpolster ab. • Das Ohrpolster verfügt zum Befestigen über ein doppelseitiges Klebeband.
• Entfernen Sie die Schutzfolie vom
neuen Ohrpolster und kleben Sie
es auf.
