NOTICES
Position the smart safe in a level and a covert area. Place the smart safe in cool and dry place. Avoid direct sunlight. Do not dismantle the smart safe privately. Do not tread on the smart safe. Do not mix the different types of batteries or mix new batteries and the old batteries together. Make sure that the positive and negative electrodes are connected correctly. The man-made destruction is not on the warranty in the contract scope.

INSATLLATION
When you received the smart safe, you need to carry out some simple operations.
INTRODUCING BATTERIES
Remove the protective lid unscrewing the screws, and fit the batteries into their seats.

ASSIGNING IB CARD CODE
The safe needs an initial setting for the assignment of the IB card code which comes with it. This code varies, depending on the IB card and must be assigned to the safe proceeding as follows. Place the IB card against the receiver, an acoustic signal (beep) will confirm assignment of the code
NOTICE
When installing, always make sure that the IB card opens the safe.
POSITION
Now you can position the smart safe on the top of a piece of furniture, or inside a cabinet. Lock it in place using the 2 wooden screw provided with the smart safe. For fastening in place, the smart safe has 4 through holes – 2 on the back wall and 2 on the horizontal surface. The installer should use these, at his own discretion, depending on where the smart safe is to be placed.

USER INSTRUCTIONS
Now the smart safe is delivered to the user with the door open and ready to use.
ASSIGNING OWNER KEY
Make sure that the smart safe has been initialized. Place an IB card against the receiver; an acoustic signal will confirm assignment of the card. Only one owner key is allowed.
CHANGE AN OWNER KEY
Loose the screws of the back lock housing and remove the cover.
Press the Reset button of the PCB and follow the above procedure to assign a new owner key.
NOTICE
Once the owner key was deleted, the master key and the code will be deleted also.
ASSIGNING MASTER-KEY
Press */C button, the display will show LIGHT_ON. Place the owner key against the receiver, the display will show P after one beep. Place the owner key against the receiver again. Place another IB card against receiver, the display will show P_S1 after one beep, master key will
be confirmed assignment. (Master key assignment can be continue before display off, the display will show P_S2P_S5 till to FULL show on display)
DELETE SOME MASTER KEY
Press */C button, the display will show LIGHT_ON. Place the owner key against the receiver, the display will show P after one beep. Place the owner key against the receiver again. Place a master key against the receiver, the display will show P_S1 after 2 beeps, the master key
will be deleted. (Master key can be deleted until the display off)
DELETE ALL MASTER KEY
Press */C button, the display will show LIGHT_ON. Place the owner key against the receiver, the display will show P after one beep. Place the owner key against the receiver two times again, the display will show P_ED, now all the
master key will be deleted.
CLOSING AND OPENING THE SAFE
To close the safe, the user must keep the door pressed and key the code onto the keyboard, followed by the key #. This code may consist of anything between one and nine digits, at the discretion of the user. To indicate that the door has closed, a green LED lights up in the receiver.
To open the safe, you just key in the same code followed by the key #. As you set the code, if you key in a wrong digit, you can press * to delete it and write in the right digit. You can change the secret code during any safe closing or opening cycle.

USING THE IB CARD
If you forget the code when the safe is shut, you can open it again by using the IB card. To do so, process as follows. Place the IB card again the receiver, an acoustic signal (beep) will confirm the opening of the safe.
USING THE MECHANICAL KEY
In case of accidental loss of the IB card, or a fault on the electronic board, you can open the safe with the mechanical key, proceeding as follows. Take the front adhesive off from the door and put the mechanical key – provided with the product – into the lock. You may now open the door manually.
NOTICE
Never leave the mechanical key and the IB card inside the safe.
ALARM FUNCTION
When someone key in the wrong code, after the third attempt, the safe will let out an acoustic alarm signal lasting sixty seconds, and will be blocked. After sixty seconds, the safe will keep quiet again.

REPLACING THE BATTERIES
If the green LED flashes for about eight seconds and the safe lets out an acoustic signal (beep), the batteries need to be replaced. In order to do so, remove the protective lid unscrewing the screw and replace the run out batteries with the new ones.
NOTICE
Make sure that the batteries used are of an alkaline 1.5 Volt type.
EMERGENCY POWER SUPPLY
If the batteries are not replaced before they run out completely, you can put a 9V battery against the two contacts on the right, to feed the safe temporarily, and hence open it.

UNIVERSAL SOCKET (OPTIONAL)
On request, a universal power socket can be provided. It will be located on the inside of the door of the safe. It can connect various devices – for example, a personal computer or a cell phone battery charger – to the power mains. The power supply cable of this socket comes out from the back of the safe, and ends with three small cables (phase, neutral and earth) which can be directly connected to the terminals of the wiring system, or to a normal plug. In case of direct connection to the wiring system, the wiring system must be equipped with a complete line cut off device, with a contact opening distance of at least 3.5mm. If the power supply cable is connected to a normal plug, the plug must be perfectly accessible.
NOTICE
If the power supply cable is damaged for any reason whatsoever, disconnect it from the power supply system – or take the plug out of the socket – and get in touch with our Sales Service.
SMART SAFE SYSTEM (OPTIONAL)
The system is used to memorize the openings of the smart safe, in a data archive. This system manages the archive according to the customer code used and the kind of key used. (IB card or mechanical card), showing the date and time the smart safe was opened.

SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
First of all, fit the installation CD into the computer reader and then start up the installation software called SETUP inside the CD. After that, a series of installation windows will open consecutively, guiding the user step by step to installing the software.
This window shows the version of the driver. Press the Next button to proceed with the installation. Press the Cancel button to exit.
In this window, you must select the language for the system, there are two languages to select, the simple Chinese and the English. Select the language which you are needed, then press the OK.
This window will ask you to fill in your name and your company name. Press the Next button to proceed with the installation. Press the Back button to go back to the previous windows.

This window asks the user to choose the path to the software. Press the Browse button to select any other destination.
This window will ask the user to select the Setup type. There are three types to be selected. After select a type, press the Next button to the next steps.
This window will ask you to choose the components which you want to install, and clear the components you do not want to. Click the Next button to the next step.

This window will ask you to select a program folder; we can name this folder as Smart Safe. Press the button Next to the next step.
The installation is now finished. Press the button Finish to finish the operation.
ENCODER INSTALLATION
The encoder supplies two ports to connect to the computer, the USB port (DS9490R) and the serial port (DS9097U). The serial port is not need to install the drivers. But if you select the USB port, the drivers must be installed.
FOR WINDOWS XP, WINDOWS 2000, WINDOWS 98
This window asks you to choose the kind of installation. On the first screen, choose No, not
now, then click Next, choose install software automatically (suggested choice) on the second screen and then click Next. Press the button Cancel if you do not wish to perform the
installation.

This window asks for the path to choose the driver for the USB unit, model DS9490. Press the Browse button, in the folder C:\Program Files\Be-Tech\Smart Safe V2009.07\Driver and then choose the file ds2490winusb_x86.inf, press the button OK to continue
installation.
The installation of the driver is now complete. Press Fine button to complete the installation.
NOTICE
There are two kinds of driver software in the RW-32 folder, the WinUSB_32 folder is used for the 32 bit computer, the WinUSB_64 folder is used for the 64 bit computer.
For Windows Vista
User Account Control (UAC) can help you prevent unauthorized changes to your computer. It works by prompting you for permission when a task requires administrative rights, such as installing software or changing settings that affect other users. But it will block many drivers so that a lot of software can’t use in Vista. User should turn UAC off before installing smart safe software. The follow procedure will show you ho
to turn User Account Control off. Open User Accounts by clicking the Start button,
clicking Control Panel, clicking User Accounts and Family Safety (or clicking User Accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking User Accounts.

Click Turn User Account Control on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Select the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer check safe to turn on UAC, or clear the check safe to turn off UAC, and then click OK
Open the folder which is the system software in. The default path is C:\Program Files\Be-Tech. Then open the Driver folder.

The WinUSB_32 folder is used for the 32 bit computer, the WinUSB_64 folder is used for the 64 bit computer. Select a correct folder to open.
Double click the install_wire_driver_x86_v401 to process the driver’s installation.
This window will ask you to read the drivers license agreement. Check the square and press the Install button to process the installation.

The driver is installing, please wait until the installation is finished.
The driver is finished completely. Press the Finish to exit the installation.

INITIAL SETTINGS
For the serial interface select DS9097U. For the USB interface select DS9490. Beside, you can also select the kind of COM port used, like COM1 and COM2, etc.
The button Holders is used to read key ID, register holder key, revise holder key and delete holder key. The button Audit Trail is used to make a data card, in order to query the information of the smart safe. The button Clock Adjustment is used to make a time card, in order to set the time into the safe.

This window will let you know what the card ID is. Processed as follows. Put the opening iB card on the encoder and press the Read Key ID button, then the Key ID of this iB card will
displayed on this window.
As the above window shown, the Key ID is 01790C07050000A1, so you can input the Holder name like Lucy. And then press the Register Key Holder button to finish the operation.
When this window pops up, It means that Lucy is the holder of this iB card and her name has been registered in the program. The smart safe will save her opening records.
NOTICE
Before you read the card ID, you must make sure that you have selected the correct serial interface. For the serial interface select DS9097U. For the USB interface select DS9490.
NOTICE
Before you register holder name, you must read the key ID first, otherwise the operation will be unsuccessful.

Before using the program, you must set the right date and time on the safe. The date and time which will be stored by the time card are the date and time set on the computer. To perform this operation as follows.
NOTICE
Lack of synchronism between the date set on the safe and the date set on the computer is due tot the time elapsing between the memorization of the date on the time card and memorization of the date on the safe.
TIME CARD
A window will now open asking you to confirm your choice. Press the button Yes.
Another confirmation window will open. Press the button OK.

NOTICE
Place the time card (green) against the receiver ,before the green LED goes out, if this does not happen, press the */C button again, place the IB card against the receiver and then place the time card before the green LED goes out.
DATA FILING
To file the data on the computer you must transfer them from the safe, via the data card. This file can contain up to three hundred openings-closings. Proceed as follows.

Transfer of the data from the data card to the computer will start and will take a few minutes.
When the data transfer is over, a confirmation window will appear. Press the button OK.
You can now see, and if necessary print out, the archive of data regarding all the openings and closings which have been performed.

PROGRESSIVE NUMBER KIND OF KEY USED DATE AND HOUR OF OPENING OF OPENINGS OR COMBINATION SET BY THE USER
NOTICE
Keep the data card and the owner key slightly slanted when resting it against the receiver. Make sure that owner key touches the center of the receiver.
NOTICE
Place the data card, against the receiver, before the red led goes off. Should this not happen, you must repeat the procedure from the start.
NOTICE
When transferring the data, press the * key on the keyboard of the safe before placing the owner key against the receiver-otherwise, the safe will open and this will make the operation impossible.

URGENCY
OPEN WITH IB KEY
If you forgot the code, you can open the smart safe by opening IB key. For the opining procedure proceed as follows.
OPEN WITH MECHANICAL KEY
While the code has been forgotten or all the opening IB keys were lost, you can open the smart safe by the mechanical key.
The mechanical keyhole is concealed inside the LCD display. Push the screen to the left and then
you will see the keyhole.
Insert the mechanical key and screw clockwise to open the smart safe.
LOW-VOLTAGE ALARM
If the smart safe emits 8 beeps for warning, it means that the batteries are almost running out, the smart safe can be still opened for 100 times. The batteries need to be replaced. In order to do so, remove the protective lid unscrewing the screw and replace the run out batteries with the new one.
NOTICE
Make sure that the batteries are used the battery type of alkaline 1.5 Volt.
TROUBLESHOOTING
ERROR ALARM
When you key in the wrong code, after the third attempt, the smart safe will let out an acoustic alarm signal lasting sixty seconds, you can stop the warning by touching any opening IB key on the IB receiver, or you can wait after sixty seconds, the smart safe will be used again.
OPENING KEY FAILS TO OPEN SMART SAFE
Make sure that the key is the owner key, not the time card or the audit trail card. Make sure that the owner key has been assigned by the DS1990 type. Make sure that the owner key is putting against the receiver. Make sure that the owner key has been assigned, if not, you should follow the procedures to
