2 Foundations
2.1 Foundation construction
A foundation plan is supplied to assist with constructing the foundations. All given measurements for the
foundation MUST be observed. The central mast climbing structure is constructed according to the valid
foundation plan.
The minimum concrete quality to be used is C20/25.
The following work steps must be carried out for foundation construction:
1. Approximately determine the foundation points on site.
2. Excavation of the pit for the foundations according to the specifications from the foundation
plan.
3. Concrete foundation using concrete with the minimum quality C20/25.
4. Allow the concrete to completely hydrate (min. 2 weeks)
5. Create a surface for the subsequent installation of the central foundation slab and the outer
end points.
6. Position the foundation slab on the central foundation. Mark bores for the outer foundation
points and the central foundation slab and mount the connection anchor according to step
2.2.
7. Attention: The foundation slab of the central foundation is installed with an M16 connection
anchor and the outer foundation points with M20 connection anchors.

2.2 Installation instructions for connection anchors
The diameters and depths of the fixing bores, as well as the hardening times are to be observed. Prior to
application, make sure the resin flows like honey from a warm to the touch cartridge. Do not use damaged
cartridges. Store cartridges cool in the original packaging and protect against direct exposure to sunlight.
Brush or blow out the bores. Drive the anchor rod to the bottom of the fixing bore by turning and
hammering (with a drill hammer). Mortar coming out of the fixing bore is to be subsequently removed.
Installation is correct when the setting mark of the anchor rod is flush with the edge of the bore and the
ring gap has been completely filled with mortar.
Hardening times:
Temperature in Hardening time (min) Hardening time (min)
the ground (°C) with dry concrete with wet concrete
over +20° 10 min. 20 min.
+11° to +20° 20 min. 40 min.
+5° to +10° 60 min. 120 min.
-5° to +4° 300 min. (=5h) 600 min. (=10h)
2.2.1 Installation of connection anchor M16
Position central foundation slab on the foundation; mark and drill bores on the basis of the foundation part.
These are drilled Ø18 mm 125 mm deep into the foundation with a percussion drilling machine and the
percussion drill. Proceed as described in point 2.2 and in the illustrations. Position the foundation part on
the foundation again and tighten with the help of an open-end wrench (SW 24) or a ratchet with a long
socket (SW 24). The ring nuts must be glued in with high-strength screwlock.

2.2.2 Installation of connection anchor M20
The fixing bores for the connection anchors can be drilled after the markings for the outer foundation
points have been set. These are drilled Ø25 mm 170mm deep into the foundation with a percussion
drilling machine and the percussion drill. Proceed as described in point 2.2 and in the illustrations.

Assembly of outer tensing points:
The M20 ring nuts must be screwed onto the connection anchors together with the washers
(80x23x8 mm) before the mast and the net can be set up. The ring nuts must be glued in with
high-strength screwlock. To this purpose insert the lever into the opening of the ring nut and turn
clockwise to tighten the ring nuts. The turnbuckles are screwed onto these ring nuts after the mast
and the net have been set up.
Net assembly:
Place the HDPE ring with the chamfer facing down over the pipe onto the slab of the centre
foundation.
Place the crate with the net next to the central foundation, tip it over and pull the net in the
direction of foundation point A then spread it out. The net should now lie on the ground without
any twists.
Guide the mast along the red-white marking band through the net structure and then fasten the
mast head in the mast pipe (Fig. 2).
! Attention: The zero level marking of the mast must be found below when setting up the device!
This is identified by a sticker and a welding bead on the mast!
Fig. 2
Place the bottom end of the mast onto the pipe end of the central foundation.
Now set up the device in that one person lifts and the second person pulls the net in the direction
of the centre of foundation B and C.
Make sure that the mast slides cleanly into the pipe on the central foundation when setting up.
All turnbuckles must now be fastened to the foundation anchors (ring nut M20).

3.1 Installation of the turnbuckles
The turnbuckles are fastened in the ring nuts with the fork heads. To this purpose the M24 screw is
placed in the hole of the ring nut and the M20 DIN985-2 nut tightened with an SW36 wrench.
3.2 Tensing the net
Loosen the lock nuts prior to tightening and grease the threads.
In order to tense the net, the turnbuckle is turned on the turnbuckle nut with the help of the lever.
This results in both fork heads pulling with the winch in the turnbuckle nut and the tensing of the
net. The gap between the HDPE plates built into the net and the mast pipe should be equal all the
way around.
Once the net has been tensed, the fork heads must be fastened again with the lock nuts using a
SW36 wrench in order to prevent independent loosening.

3.3 Net tension
The net has the correct tension when one positions oneself in the middle of one of the horizontal
ropes (Fig. 3), resulting in a sag of 25-40 mm (Fig. 4 Principle sketch).

! Attention: Depending upon frequenzy of play, the net must be retensed 1-2
weeks later!

4 Final work
Upon conclusion of all tensing and assembly work, all threaded connections are checked for a tight
fit and the marking band is removed. All installation aids are then removed from the play area and
the play area restored.
