The BA-921 SMC ensures that the latest technology and design
enhancements work together with MaxxForce 11/13 engines to
provide the optimum performance and reliability of the Bendix
single cylinder compressor.

High Air Delivery
The Bendix single cylinder BA-921 side mount air compressor
provides consistent air delivery at all engine speeds. The highoutput design supplies 16 cfm (cubic feet per minute)
displacement at 1,250 rpm, ensuring rapid and efficient recharge
of the air system. Power like this ensures the ability to recharge
the system quickly and efficiently. Efficient output means lower
duty cycle, and lower duty cycle means longer compressor life.
Energy Saving System
The energy saving system (ESS) includes an unloading mechanism
that ensures minimum power draw in the unloaded mode. The
result is increased fuel savings relative to older designs.
Increased Reliability
The ESS is significantly more reliable than competitive clutch
mechanisms at comparable levels of power consumption. The
result is reduced downtime and lower total cost of ownership.
Reduced Oil Passing
The latest design and engineering changes to the cylinder,
piston rings, and honing, ensure minimal oil passage plus
improve air quality to extend service life.
Effective Cooling Systems
The cylinder head of this hard working unit provides lower
discharge air temperatures by incorporating highly effective
cooling surfaces, thus further reducing carbon formation and
producing higher air quality. Minimizing discharge temperature
increases the service life of downstream air components, such as
the air dryer and valves.
Compact, Lightweight Design
Highly efficient, the Bendix® BA-921® side mount compressor
replaces existing larger and heavier clutched twin cylinder
compressors while providing sufficient air for even heavy-duty
demands.
