Bendix® TABS-6 Advanced roll stability system provides trailers with
core antilock braking, along with a trailer roll stability system in one
efficient package that's simple to install and simple to maintain. It's the
first single-channel, tank-mountable trailer roll stability system available.
Advanced performance in a simple package
It's a fact… rollovers are an issue that can impact every Nor th
American fleet. They are expensive – not only in terms of safety and
property impacted – but also in downtime, productivity, customer
satisfaction and fleet reputation. While multiple trailer-based solutions
exist, the simplest solution is the best one … the Bendix® TABS-6
Advanced stability system.
This dynamic system will inter vene automatically when detecting
conditions that may lead to a trailer rollover – typically even before
the driver realizes an intervention is needed. The system provides
quick and reliable stability performance while simplifying installation and
maintenance.
Improving safety improves the bottom line
Most people don't think of a safety system as contributing to the
bottom line. However, when you consider the costs of accident related
vehicle damage, downtime, clean-up, etc…it's easy to see how it does.
Every dollar saved through incident reduction goes directly to the
bottom line – a $100,000 accident means a fleet operating on a 5%
margin has to grow revenue by $2 million to cover the lost profit.

Bendix testing shows that a fleet gets the maximum amount of stability
protection available by having Bendix® ESP® on the tractor and the
Bendix TABS-6 Advanced on the trailer. Why? Because the systems
work to complement each other, covering a wider variety of potential
rollover scenarios and applying more braking power. By having Bendix
stability systems on both the tractors and trailers, a fleet's stability
margin can increase over either system alone.

Designed for robust performance, flexibility and easy
maintenance
The key system components – the modulator, the lateral acceleration
sensor and the ECU – are efficiently housed in an environmentallyprotected central modular unit. Only the wheel speed sensors are
external – keeping wire and hose connections to a minimum. A locking
connector cover that provides a second line of defense against water
and road grime, helps deter tampering, ensuring the system is available
when rollover intervention is required.
The Bendix TABS-6 Advanced roll stability system functionality is
compatible with various electrical systems – from 8 volt to 32 volt
ranges – without the need for a power converter. And custom
applications, such as automatic trailer axle air-suspension control, are
also available.
Maintenance for the system is no more than what is required for a
standard trailer ABS system. Components are replacement only,
which means no need for repairs. Diagnostics are simple, using PLC
communication with Bendix® ACom® ABS diagnostic software and our
exclusive Bendix® Trailer Remote Diagnostic Unit (TRDU™).
Adding stability to your fleet is an easy retrofit!
Our system can be easily retrofitted to a fleet's existing trailers with
ABS, and added to trailers without ABS. By upgrading their trailers with
the TABS-6 Advanced roll stability system, fleets not only get the benefit
of ABS, but the added functionality of a roll-stability system. For any
fleet, adding trailer stability delivers an additional measure of safety in
their operations.

How It Works…
monitors a variety of trailer parameter s using sensors to determine
if the trailer is reaching a critical stability threshold. When such
a situation develops, the system will quickly and automatically
intervene to assist the driver by applying the trailer brakes
to mitigate a potential rollover.

Data fleets can use from the exclusive Bendix Trailer
Control Unit (TCU)
Fleets need information from their on-vehicle systems to clarify
diagnostics, maintenance schedules, and trailer usage. The optional
Bendix® Trailer Control Unit (TCU™) provides this, plus additional data,
in an easy-to-use, menu-driven unit mounted directly to the trailer.
The Bendix® TCU™ collects and stores information such as mileage,
trip distance, ser vice intervals, brake system diagnostics, and stability
events. It will even read the pressure in the trailer air suspension bags
and display this data as trailer axle weight, eliminating the need for other

between the wheels and the pavement create a "hinge" effect allowing the forces
at the CG to push the vehicle over.

also be downloaded via a PC using Bendix ACom diagnostic software
(version 6.0 or later) when the trailer is back at the terminal. Auxiliary
pins provide features such as dome lamp control and auxiliary warning
lamps.

No stability system eliminates the need for good drivers, good driving
practices or good driver training. A stability system is designed to
complement these safe practices, providing additional driver support
when unforeseen circumstances arise.
How the Bendix® TABS-6 Advanced trailer stability system responds:
The Bendix® TABS-6 Advanced functionality applies pressure to the trailer
brakes to reduce vehicle speed and mitigate the tendency of the vehicle to
roll over.
Applications
Designed for trailers and dollies requiring single channel ABS. Application
is for 2S/1M (2 wheel speed sensors/1 modulator). Works with all
trailer types – from flatbed and tankers, to vans and bulk haulers.
