HOW TO USE

This appliance is for professional use only and may be plugged into any
120V AC electrical outlet. Do not use any other electrical outlet.

IMPORTANT: During the first few minutes of use, you may notice smoke
and a slight odor, as well as a humming noise. This is normal and will
quickly disappear.

WARNING: This multiple temperature curling iron has been specially
designed to curl very coarse, thick, hard-to-curl hair. Due to this special
application, the barrel of this curling iron will be hotter on the HI (15)
setting than regular dual-heat curling irons. Due to the extreme heat

capabilities of this curling iron, extra care should be taken when using.

• Keep unit away from contact with all skin areas. Do not touch iron
barrel with fingertips.

• For shorter hair, place a thin plastic comb between scalp and curling
iron barrel to avoid touching scalp.

SPECIAL FEATURE: This iron features solid-state electronic circuitry with
a heat sensor that detects temperature loss and quickly boosts the
power to bring the heat level back to optimum styling temperature. This
allows you to style in half the time it takes with an ordinary iron.

BEFORE USING: For a complete styling, hair should be clean, dry and free
from dirt, hair spray, creams, etc. (This iron can always be used for quick
touch-ups any time.)

PRE-HEAT: Rest the iron on its built-in safety stand on a smooth, flat
surface, and plug in. Turn on, set the heat control at the desired position,
and allow iron to heat.

HOW TO GET PROFESSIONAL RESULTS:

This unique curling iron has been designed with multiple temperatures,
providing very high heat in the HI (13-15) settings for curling very coarse,
thick, hard-to-curl hair, and very low heat in the LOW (1-3) settings for
curling extra fine, damaged or dry hair. It also provides a full range of
heat settings between LOW and HI, for all normal textures and
thicknesses of hair.

FOR FAST HEAT-UP: Turn heat control dial to HI (13-15) settings. It will
take about 60 seconds to heat up. To reach optimum temperature, allow
iron to heat for 90 seconds. Then, select a temperature according to the
type of hair (see below for adjusting temperature).

TEST A SMALL SECTION OF HAIR BEFORE USING; THEN ADJUST
TEMPERATURE DEPENDING ON TYPE OF HAIR.

HEAT SETTINGS:
HI (13-15): These settings are very hot. Use only if hair is very coarse and

highly resistant, but in good condition.

MED/HI (10-12):

Use heat settings in this range for dense, hard-to-curl hair in good
condition.

MEDIUM (7-9):

Use heat settings in this range for thick, wavy hair in good condition.

LOW/MED (4-6):

Use heat settings in this range for easy-to-curl, normal hair.

LOW (1-3)

Use LO heat setting for very fine, fragile, light-colored hair.

USING THE ROTATING HANDLE

TO ROTATE: Pull out the lock mechanism end cap and twist. Before using,

be sure that the end cap is in the extended lock position. The handle will
now swivel easily.

FOR STATIONARY USE: Pull out the lock mechanism end cap, reverse
the twist and push inward, positioning locking pins into holes in handle.
The iron handle is now in the standard stationary position.

STYLING: Start by sectioning hair into strands of not more than 2 inches
wide. Keep the hair strand smooth by brushing or combing through the
section while holding the ends taut with the other hand.

Taking one section at a time, place the ends of hair under the barrel
with the clamp open. Then close the clamp, making sure that the ends
extend just a bit beyond the clamp.

Keep the section of hair taut as you wind it around the hot barrel by
turning the handle. Wind the curl toward scalp as far as you wish to go
without touching scalp with the hot barrel.

Hold the curl in place for up to 20 seconds for tight curls or if hair is hard
to curl. Hold for less time if hair is easy to curl, or if you want loose curls
or just waves. When you are ready to release curl, unwind about half a
turn (for longer hair, unwind a bit more). Now, gently withdraw the barrel
from the center of curl. Allow curl to cool, and try not to disturb curls as
you proceed in the same manner around whole head.

When completely finished, and all curls have cooled thoroughly, gently
brush and comb hair into the style you wish.

STYLING TIP: For bouncy, flip-up curls, the clamp should be under and
the barrel over the section of hair at the start of curl. For curl-under,
page-boy styles, the clamp should be over and the barrel under the hair
section at the start of curl.

CARE AND CLEANING

This appliance requires little maintenance and contains no user
serviceable parts. Do not try to repair it yourself. Refer it to qualified
service personnel if servicing is needed.

TO CLEAN: Unplug curling iron and allow to cool. Iron must be cleaned
only when cold. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to wipe the handle. Do
not allow water or any other liquid to go into handle of the iron.

TO STORE: Unplug appliance and let it cool; store in its box or in a clean,
dry place. Store the cord loosely coiled. Never wrap the cord around
unit; this could cause the cord to wear prematurely and break. Do not
put any stress on cord where it enters the handle, as it could cause
cord to fray and possibly break. Never hang unit up by the power cord.

• Evite el contacto de la unidad con su piel. No toque la barra de la tenaza
con los dedos.

• Para cabellos más cortos, coloque un peine delgado de plástico entre
la tenaza y el cuero cabelludo para evitar tocar este último.

CARACTERISTICA ESPECIAL: Esta tenaza se caracteriza por un circuito
electrónico con un sensor de temperatura que detecta la pérdida de
temperatura y eleva rápidamente la fuerza para regresar a un nivel de
temperatura optima para el peinado. Esto le permite peinarse en la mitad
del tiempo que toma con una tenaza ordinaria.

ANTES DE USARSE: Para un mejor acabado, el cabello debe estar limpio,
seco y libre de laca, cremas, etc. (Esta tenaza puede ser usada para
retoques en cualquier momento.)

PRE-CALENTAMIENTO: Coloque la tenaza en su parador en una superficie
plana y enchúfela. Enciéndala, seleccione la temperatura deseada y
déjela que caliente.

COMO OBTENER RESULTADOS PROFESIONALES:

Esta singular tenaza ha sido diseñada con temperatura múltiple,
proveyendo temperatura bastante alta en las posiciones de temperaturas
ALTA (13-15) para rizar cabellos muy gruesos, abundantes y difíciles de
rizar y temperatura bastante baja en las posiciones de temperaturas
BAJA (1-3) para rizar cabellos muy finos, dañados o secos. También
provee una variedad de temperaturas entre la BAJA y la ALTA para
texturas normales y grosor del cabello.

PARA UN RAPIDO CALENTAMIENTO: Encienda el control de temperatura
a las posiciones de temperaturas ALTA (13-15). Le tomará cerca de 60
segundos para calentarse. Para alcanzar la máxima temperatura, deje que
la tenaza se caliente por 90 segundos. Luego, seleccione una temperatura
de acuerdo al tipo de cabello (vea lo que sigue para ajustar la
temperatura).

HAGA UNA PRUEBA EN UNA PEQUEÑA SECCION DEL CABELLO ANTES
DE USARLA; LUEGO SELECCIONE LA TEMPERATURA DE ACUERDO AL

POSICIONES DE TEMPERATURAS:
ALTA (13-15)

Estas temperaturas son muy calientes. Uselas si el cabello es muy grueso,
abundante, resistente, pero en buenas condiciones.

MEDIANA /ALTA (10-12)

Use las temperaturas en este orden para cabellos abundantes, difíciles de
rizar en buenas condiciones.

MEDIANA (7-9)

Use las temperaturas en este orden para cabellos gruesos, ondulados y
en buenas condiciones.

BAJA/MEDIANA (4-6)

Use las temperaturas en este orden para cabellos fáciles de rizar,
cabellos normales.

BAJA (1-3)

Use las temperaturas bajas para cabellos muy finos, frágiles y de
color claro.

COMO USAR EL MANGO ROTATIVO

PARA ROTAR: Hale el mecanismo al final del mango y déle vuelta. Antes
de usarlo, asegúrese que el mecanismo esté en la posición de seguro
extendido. El mango girará ahora fácilmente.

PARA USO ESTACIONARIO: Hale el mecanismo, déle vuelta a la inversa y
empuje hacia adentro, posicionando las clavijas del seguro con los
agujeros en el mango. El mango de la tenaza está ahora en la posición
estacionaria.

PEINADO: Comience dividiendo el pelo en mechones de no más de 2
pulgadas de ancho. Mantenga los mechones suaves, cepillándolos o
peinándolos mientras sostiene la punta del pelo estirado con la otra
mano.

Tomando una sección a la vez, coloque las puntas del cabello debajo de
la barra con el clip abierto. Luego cierre el clip, asegurándose que la
punta del cabello se extienda un poquito fuera del clip.

Mantenga la sección del pelo estirado conforme vaya enrollándolo en la
barra caliente, dándole vuelta por el mango. Enrolle el rizo lo más que
desee hacia el cuero cabelludo sin tocarlo con la barra caliente.

Sostenga el rulo en el lugar por 20 segundos para rizos bien acentuados o
si el cabello es difícil de ondular. Mantenga por menos tiempo si el
cabello es fácil de rizar o si desea rulos sueltos o solamente ondas.
Cuando ya esté listo para soltar, desenvuelva media vuelta (para cabellos
más largos desenvuelva un poco más). Ahora suavemente suelte la barra
del centro del rizo. Deje que el rizo se enfríe y trate de no tocar los demás
rizos hasta que termine con toda la cabeza.

Cuando ya esté todo listo y los rizos estén completamente fríos,
suavemente cepille y péinelos al estilo que usted desea.

FIJANDO LAS PUNTAS DEL CABELLO: Para rizos esponjosos o rizos
sueltos, el clip debe estar debajo y la barra sobre la sección del pelo al
comienzo del rizo. Para rizos hacia adentro o estilo paje, el clip debe ir

arriba y la barra debajo de la sección del pelo al comienzo del rizo.

CUIDADO Y LIMPIEZA

Este artefacto requiere poco mantenimiento y no tiene piezas que puedan
ser reparadas. No trate de repararlo usted mismo. Si necesita reparación
remítalo a personas calificadas.

PARA LIMPIAR: Desenchufe la tenaza y déjela que enfríe. La tenaza
solamente debe limpiarse cuando esté fría. Use un paño suave,
ligeramente húmedo para limpiar el mango. No deje que penetre agua u
otro líquido al mango de la tenaza.

PARA GUARDAR: Desconecte el artefacto, déjelo enfriar y guárdelo en su
misma caja o en un lugar seco y limpio. Enrolle el cable suavemente, sin
ajustarlo. Nunca lo enrolle ajustado alrededor de la unidad, esto podría
causar que se gaste prematuramente y rompa. No ponga presión al cable
donde éste entra al mango, ya que esto podría causar el desgaste del
cable y su posible rotura. Nunca cuelgue la unidad por el cable.

INSTRUCCIONES DE SEGURIDAD

Cuando use aparatos eléctricos, especialmente cuando hayan niños,
medidas básicas de seguridad deben seguirse, incluyendo las siguientes:

■ LEA TODAS LAS INSTRUCCIONES ANTES DE USAR.

ENCHUFE POLARIZADO

Este artefacto tiene un enchufe polarizado (una hoja es más ancha que
la otra). Como medida de seguridad, este enchufe sólo debe usarse en
una toma de corriente polarizada en un solo sentido. Si no entrara en la
toma de corriente, invierta el enchufe y trate nuevamente. Si aún así no
entrara, busque la ayuda de un electricista calificado. No intente anular
este dispositivo de seguridad.

POLARIZED PLUG

This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). As a safety feature, this plug fits in a polarized outlet only one
way. If the plug does not fit into the outlet, reverse the plug and try
again. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not
attempt to defeat this safety feature.

LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS

1. Never pull or yank on the cord or the appliance.

2. To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into outlet.

3. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet.

4. Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion
