IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
1. Please read all instructions carefully before using any appliance.
2. Always ensure that the voltage on the rating label corresponds to the mains voltage in your home.
3. Incorrect operation and improper use can damage the appliance and cause injury to the user.
4. The appliance is intended for household use only. Commercial use invalids the warranty and the supplier can not be held responsible for injury or damage caused when using the appliance for any other purpose than that intended.
5. Avoid any contact with moving parts.
6. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
7. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
8. Close supervision is required when any appliance is used near or by children or invalids.
9. Check the power cord and plug regularly for any damage. If the cord or the plug
is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualied person in order
to avoid an electrical hazard.
10. Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped or damaged in any way. In case of damage, take the unit in for examination and/or repair by an authorised service agent.
11. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not immerse or expose the motor assembly, plug or the power cord to water or any other liquid.
12. Never immerse the unit in water or any other liquid for cleaning purposes.
13. Remove the plug from the socket by gripping the plug. Do not pull on the cord to disconnect the appliance from the mains. Always unplug the unit when not in use, before cleaning or when adding or removing parts.
14. The use of accessory attachments that are not recommended or supplied by the manufacturer may result in injuries, re or electric shock.
15. A short cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
16. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter. Ensure that the cord is not in a position where it can be pulled on inadvertently.
17. Do not allow the cord to touch hot surfaces and do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
18. Do not use the appliance on a gas or electric cooking top or over or near an open ame.
19. Use of an extension cord with this appliance is not recommended. However, if it is necessary to use an extension lead, ensure that the lead is suited to the power consumption of the appliance to avoid overheating of the extension cord, appliance or plug point. Do not place the extension cord in a position where it can be pulled on by children or animals or tripped over.
20. This appliance is not suitable for outdoor use. Do not use this appliance for anything other than its intended use.
21. DO NOT carry the appliance by the power cord.

22. Do not leave this appliance unattended during use. Always unplug the unit when not in use or before cleaning.
23. Always operate the appliance on a smooth, even, stable surface. Do not place the unit on a hot surface.
24. The manufacturer does not accept responsibility for any damage or injury caused by improper or incorrect use, or for repairs carried out by unauthorised personnel.
25. In case of technical problems, switch off the appliance and do not attempt to repair it yourself. Return the appliance to an authorised service facility for examination, adjustment or repair. Always insist on the use of original spare parts. Failure to comply with the above mentioned pre-cautions and instructions, could affect the safe operation of this machine.
26. The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
27. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
28. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
29. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
30. Save these Instructions.
31. Oversize foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted in a toaster as they may involve a risk of re or electric shock.
32. A re may occur if toasters are covered or touching ammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, when in operation.
33. Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in. (This may be omitted if toaster employs sheathed type heating elements.)
CAUTION: This appliance is hot during operation and retains heat for some time
after turning off. Always use oven mitts when handling hot material and allow metal parts to cool before cleaning. Do not place anything on top of the Toaster while it is operating or while it is hot.
CAUTION: DO NOT toast pastries with runny llings or frosting. DO NOT toast torn slices of bread. DO NOT place buttered bread or wrapped food into the Toaster. DO NOT toast small-size bread, mini-baguettes, breadsticks, etc.

Plasticizer Warning
CAUTION:
To prevent Plasticizers from migrating to the nish of the counter top or table top or other furniture, place NON-PLASTIC coasters or place mats between the appliance and the nish of the counter top or table top. Failure to do so may cause the nish to darken; permanent blemishes may occur or stains can appear.
Electric Power
If the electrical circuit is overloaded with other appliances, your appliance may not operate properly. It should be operated on a separate electrical circuit from other appliances.
Changing the Fitted/Moulded Plug
Should the need arise to change the tted/moulded plug, follow these instructions:
Mains (AC) Operation. This unit is designed to operate on 220V current only. Connecting to other power sources may damage the unit.

Getting To Know Your 4 Slice Long Slot Toaster
Product may vary slightly from illustrations.
Before Using For The First Time
There may be manufacturing residue or oil remaining in the toaster or heating element, which might emit an odor at the time of the rst use. This is normal and will not occur after several uses. It is suggested to operate the toaster without bread for rst toasting cycle according to the below steps. Then let the unit cool down before you start toasting the rst slice.
How To Use The Toaster
1. Ensure the toaster is connected to the main power supply.
2. Place one to four slices of bread into the toasting slots and press the loading lever down until it latches.
The toaster will heat up automatically and start toasting. NOTE: the toaster must be connected to the main power supply in order for the bread carriage to engage and for the toasting cycle to begin
3. Adjust the browning control to brown the toast to your desired taste.
4. To stop toasting press the CANCEL button at any time.
5. The loading lever will rise automatically when toasting is nished. This toaster is equipped with a high lif t
lever to help with the removal of smaller items.
6. If the toast is not dark enough, you can toast the bread again. Adjust the browning control to your desired
setting set ting and replace the toast. Ensure the toast does not burn while re-toasting.
Browning Control
The browning control enables adjustment of toasting time and has the following settings:
REHEAT – for warming pre-toasted bread
1-2 for light toasting 3-4 for medium toasting 5-6 for dark toasting

Bagel Function
The bagel setting works great for English mufns, too!
1. Place one half in each toasting slot with the cut sides facing the center.
2. Set the browning control to desired set ting.
3. Press the loading lever down.
4. Press the BAGEL button. The bagel indicator will light up. Ensure bagel doesn’t burn.
5. The loading lever will rise automatically when the toasting cycle is complete.
Defrost Function
Your Toaster can defrost bread before it is toasted.
1. Place the frozen bread in the toaster.
2. Set the browning control to desired shade set ting.
3. Press the loading lever down.
4. Press the DEFROST button. The defrost indicator will light up.
5. The loading lever will rise automatically when the toasting cycle is complete.
Reheat Function
Your Toaster can reheat bread if it has cooled too quickly.
1. Replace the bread in the toaster.
2. Set the browning dial to the lowest set ting. The arrow on the dial should be position to REHEAT.
3. Press the loading lever down.
4. The loading lever will rise automatically when the toasting cycle is complete.
Cancel Function
The CANCEL button can be pressed at any time during toasting to interrupt the toasting cycle.
CAUTION:
1. Remove all protective wrapping before using the toaster.
2. If toaster starts to smoke, press CANCEL to stop toasting immediately.
3. Do not toast food with runny ingredients.
4. Never attempt to remove bread jammed in the slots without rst unplugging the toaster from the electrical
outlet. Be sure not to damage the internal mechanism or heating elements when removing bread.
5. The bread slot is to be used for toasting regular bread slices only. Do not use the toaster to toast irregular
shaped bread or round bread.
Cleaning and Maintenance
1. Disconnect the toaster from outlet before cleaning.
2. Wipe the outside with a soft dry cloth after toaster cools down. Never use metal polish.
3. Pull out crumb tray on bottom of toaster and empt y it. If toaster is used frequently, accumulated bread
crumbs should be removed at least once a week. Make sure the crumb tray is inser ted correctly to the toaster and completely closed before using the toaster again.
4. The power cord may be wound under the bot tom of the toaster when not in use
or for storage.
This appliance requires little maintenance. Do not tr y to repair it yourself. Any servicing requiring disassembly must be performed by a qualied appliance repair technician.

Please retain your proof of purchase/receipt in the event of a claim under warranty this receipt must be produced.
Warranty
House Innovative Technologies Africa (Pty) Ltd warrants to the original purchaser of this product (“the customer”) that this product will be free of defects in quality and workmanship which under normal personal, family or household use and purpose may manifest within a period of 1 (One) year from the date of purchase (“warranty period”).
1. Where the customer has purchased a product and it breaks, is defective or does not work properly for the intended purpose, the customer must notify the supplier from whom the customer bought the product (“the supplier”) thereof within the warranty period. Any claim in terms of this warranty must be supported by a proof of purchase. If proof of purchase is not available, then repair, and/or service charges may be payable by the customer to the supplier.
2. The faulty product must be taken to the suppliers service centre to exercise the warranty.
3. The supplier will refund, repair or exchange the product in terms of this warranty subject to legislative requirements. This warranty shall be valid only where the customer has not broken the product himself/herself, or used the product for something that it is not supposed to be used for. The warranty does not include and will not be construed to cover products damaged as a result of disaster, misuse, tamper, abuse or any unauthorised modication or repair of the product.
4. This warranty will extend only to the product provided at the date of the purchase and not to any expendables attached or installed by the customer.
5. If the customer requests that the supplier repairs the product and the product breaks or fails to function properly within 3 (three) months of the repair and not as a result of misuse, tampering or modication by or on behalf of the customer, then the supplier may replace the product.
6. The customer may be responsible for certain costs where products returned are not in the original packaging, or if the packaging is damaged. This will be deducted from any refund paid to the customer.
7. The guarantee does not cover accidental damage, misuse, cabinet parts, knobs or consumable items.
8. The product must be correctly installed and operated in accordance with the instructions contained in this manual.
9. It must be used only for domestic purposes.
10. The guarantee will be rendered invalid if the product is re-sold, has been tampered with or has been damaged by inexpert repair.
11. Specications are subject to change without notice.
12. The manufacturer disclaims any liability for the incidental or consequential damages.
13. The guarantee is in addition to, and does not diminish your statutory or legal rights.
