INSTALLING LASERLINK MIO WITH WINDOWS 95
I. Verify that the Laserlink MIO is working properly.
1. Check connections.
- cables and adpaters Make sure that you are using the proper cables and adapters.
2. Try to print out a configuration page using the printer control panel to determine if there is a good connection from the Laserlink MIO unit to the printer. Note: The file TALK.EXE utility will not run properly under Windows 95.
In order to run talk properly, the computer has to be restarted in MS-DOS mode using the Start/Shutdown... menu option. If TALK.EXE is executed in an MS-DOS prompt shell only, the utility will report inaccurate results.
HOW TO SET THE COMPUTER’S PARALLEL OR SERIAL PORT SETTINGS:

Click the printer icon where the Laserlink MIO is installed.
Then click on Printer to pull down the Printer menu.
Select Properties from the Print Menu to open the Printer Properties window.

Select the tab Details to bring up the Printer Details window. On this screen you will be able to select the type of connection to the Laserlink MIO, either serial or parallel.

If the connection is serial, you will be given the option to change the baud rate, data bits, parity, stop bit, and flow control (handshake). (Note: Windows 95 will support the baud rate settings of the Laserlink MIO input ports ranging from 1200 baud up to 115.2 kbaud.
Click on the OK button to close the window.
