Charging your iPAQ series handheld
through a powered USB port:
Plug the Sync Charger’s USB connector into
an available USB port on a desktop or
laptop computer.
Plug the other end of the Sync Charger into the
autosync connector at the base of the handheld.
Be sure that the word PUSH is facing up. The
Sync Charger will snap into place when securely
attached.
Charge times will vary, but a fully discharged
iPAQ handheld should charge completely
within 2.5 hours, if not operated during the
charging cycle.
To remove the cable from the autosync
connector, depress the PUSH release on the head
of the cable and gently pull back until the
connector is released.

Charging your iPAQ series handheld through a
USB automobile cigarette lighter socket:
Plug the USB cigarette lighter adapter into the
car’s cigarette lighter socket.
Plug the Sync Charger’s USB connector into the
USB receptacle located in the tip of the adapter.
Plug the other end of the Sync Charger into the
autosync connector at the base of the handheld.
Be sure that the word “PUSH” is facing up.
The connector will snap into place when
securely attached.
Charge times will vary, but a fully discharged
iPAQ handheld should charge completely
within 2.5 hours, if not operated during the
charging cycle.

Synchronizing your iPAQ series handheld:
Note: ActiveSync®Desktop Software from Compaq must be
installed on the PC to enable the synchronization function.
To support an ActiveSync connection using USB, your host
PC must be running Windows
®
98 or Windows 2000.
Microsoft®does not support an ActiveSync USB connection
under Windows 95 or Windows NT
®

With your iPaq turned on, plug the Sync Charger’s USB
connector into an available USB port on a desktop or
laptop computer.
Plug the other end of the Sync Charger into the
AutoSync connector at the base of the handheld.
Be sure that the word PUSH is facing up. The Sync
Charger will snap into place when securely attached.
If ActiveSync doesn't start synchronizing, select
Connection Settings from the ActiveSync File menu.
Click off the Allow USB Connection setting, and
click OK.
Go back to Connection Settings. Click on Allow USB
Connection and click OK. ActiveSync should begin to
synchronize your iPaq to your PC.
