Setup
1. Co nn ec t you r Rou ter’s Et hernet cable t o your m od em’s Ethernet
por t (on the b ack o f you r mod em). T his p or t mig ht be labele d
dif ferently o n you r par ticular modem. If you ar e add in g a
Rou ter for th e fir st time, this port may be co nn ec ted to y our
computer by an Ethernet cable. It is OK to disconnect your
computer and plug the Router into the modem instead.
2. Plug the Router’s power supply into a wall outlet.
3. Put the CD i nto y our c om puter. If t he CD doesn’ t
ope n autom atically, ple as e browse t o you r CD drive
and double- click on the Belkin Setup CD icon.
4. Click the Setup icon on the CD menu.

During setup you may be asked for additional information.

additional information also provided by your ISP.
If your compute r doe sn’t have a wir el ess ada pter, or the
set up so ftware is u nable to con trol it , you may be as ked to
connect your computer to the Router with a network cable.

Advanced Tools & Settings
After the initial setup is co mp lete, yo u have t he opti on to
change settings like your network name, security type, and
pas sword. To ma ke th es e cha ng es and other s, click on th e
Advanced Too ls icon at t he CD Setu p menu and s el ec t one
of the following set tings that you would like to change:
Network Name & Security – Per sonaliz e your n et wo rk name
(SSID), password, and strength of wireless security.
Internet Service Provider & Login Settings – H ave
you moved or changed Internet Service Providers?
If you’d like to change these s et ti ngs wit ho ut ru nn ing
through the setup process again, this is the place.

The Belkin Router Manager
The Belkin Router Manager appears in your system tray
(Wind ows) o r men u bar (Mac). I ts icon indicate s the curren t
sta tu s of you r Rou ter a nd also a llows yo u to access your
Rou ter’s se tt in gs to make change s. It a lso p rovides quick
access to software that came bundled with your Router.
To access the Router settings, click on the icon
and select from the menu that appears.
The status of your Router is shown by the Belkin Router Manager
icon, which closely mimics the light on the front of the Router.
Green: You a re conn ec ted to you r Belki n Router
and it is connected to the Internet.
Amber: You a re co nn ec ted to y our B el ki n Rou ter,
but it is not connected to the Internet.

Manual Setup Using Your Browser
In you r browser, ty pe “ ht tp://r ou ter” (you do not need to type
in any thing else s uc h as “ww w”). Th en pres s the E nter key. If
you’re stil l hav in g tro uble ru nn ing t he manual setu p optio n, type
“192.168.2.1” in you r browser (you do not need to type in any th in g
else such as “http://” or “www ”). Then press the Enter key.

Adding Computers to Your Network
Wir eless d evices su ch as c omputer s, networ k print ers, an d gam in g
systems can connect to your Router with a few simple steps.
Using the CD
1. Pu t the S etup CD in to your co mputer. If the CD
doe sn’t op en au tomatical ly, br owse to your CD
drive and open the Belkin Setup CD icon.
2. Click the Setup icon on the CD menu.
3. After a brief installation, the setup software will ask you for the
net wo rk name and pa sswor d from the n et work in formati on card
tha t came with your Router. Thi s card is most like ly now locat ed
underneath the foot of your Router in the provided card slot.
4. A progres s screen will ap pear wh ile a dditional sof tw are i s
ins ta lled. T his m ay ta ke a few minu tes to compl ete. Once
fin is hed, a “Success” message will ap pear in dicating that you
are connected to the Internet via your new Belkin Router.
Note: Th e set up software runs o nly on
Windows and Mac OS X systems.

Manually
If you choose n ot to us e the i nc luded S etup CD fo r
add ing a dd itional c omputer s or wi reless devices , you
can manually add these items to your network.
1. Lo ca te th e wir el es s- network-c onnections option
on your computer or wireless device.
2. Select your Be lkin Router from th e lis t of ava il able networks. You
can identi fy your B elkin R ou ter by l oc ating t he networ k name
(SSID) from the card located underneath the foot of your Router.
3. Enter your n et work pa sswor d (lo ca ted o n
your network information card).
Your wireless device will take a few moments to connect to your
network. If the connection is not made the first time, try this
pro ce ss agai n. If you still h ave difficulty c on ne ct ing t o your net wo rk
after try ing t hi s proce ss a few t im es, s ee the “Tro ub leshoot in g”
section in this manual for help with connecting to your network.
Note: In some cases you may be prompted to select the
security type. It is printed on the card for your convenience.
Using the WPS But ton
1. St ar t WPS Pu sh Button Connection ( WPS PBC) on yo ur
com pu ter o r oth er Wi-Fi device that you would like to co nnect
wir elessly to your R ou ter. Oft en th er e wil l be a button for t his
pur po se in sof tw are t hat c am e with the d evice, or a phy si cal
“WPS,” “PBC,” or “Security” button on the device itself.
2. Within two minutes, press the WPS button on your Router.
The WPS light (s mall li ght a bove WPS b ut ton) w il l bli nk gree n while
it liste ns fo r you r Wi-Fi d evice. Once a conne ct io n is es tablished , the
lig ht will turn green and the n go ou t. If a conn ec ti on is not establish ed ,
the light will blink amber. You may repeat the process to try again.
You can repeat this process for each WPS-enabled
device you’d like to add to your network.
